iOS 8 messenger issue?

My default messenger still has the send button and its not replaced with the mic and I can't press and hold to do the new recording stuff. When I go to quick reply from a banner txt notification the send button is there too not the mic? What am I missing? Thanks

Are you sending an iMessage? Or sms? As it's iMessage only.

I had my work Exchange account on my iPhone 5 running iOS 6, and without syncing contacts, I was still able to use autocomplete to send emails to coworkers (I.e., it knew their email addresses, as though the data was being pulled from the Exchange server). Now my iPhone 6 doesn't have that feature. Does Mail "learn" emails as I reply to things people send me, etc.?

Any help would be appreciated!

Answered my own question on this, so here's another: is there any way to change the Safari tab switcher appearance? The vertically ordered, pseudo-3D list of tabs looks awful.

We have 3 phones on the Family Sharing thing now. Spouse and I can see each others purchases, and our own. Daughter can't see ours or her own. She gets a message telling her that she is connected to family share with a different ID, though she isn't, and that's it. No purchased items in the app store. She can, however, see purchased music (ours and her own). Thoughts?

I am not in the FaceTime nor the Contact app...why do my contact pictures appear on my home screen: confused:

It's a new feature of iOS 8 to allow easier access to recent contacts and your favorites when accessing multi tasking. To turn if off, go to Settings, Mail, scroll down to Contacts, and set Show in App Switcher to Off.

I noticed installed updates are not clearing out still....

why and how to turn off this feature. me and my wife share an apple id for app purchases. we both received the iphone 6 and plus. when we are both logged into same wifi we get each others calls at both devices. how can i stop the asap for so many reasons . literally someone calls my phone my phone rings and her phone rings

That's not how it works anymore. The changed it so that all updates show, so you can see what got installed. Since iOS 7.

Where was I before this damn iOS 8 crashed safari:mad:, yeah I know thot they'd tweak it a bit to clear out 3 wks worth of clutter:(

Ask your stupid iOS 8 questions here!

I, and many others, like it. Since apps can automatically update, it's easy to check what apps have been updated and what the updates are for. It's basically just like the purchased section, but for updates.

It does no harm being there....

You have two options:
1. Settings --> General -->> handoff & suggested apps --> toggle off handoff
2. Set up a separate AppleID for one of you and use the new Family Share feature under Settings --> General --> iCloud to share purchases with each other

Here's my stupid question. Do I have to download and install the FindMYiPhone app to find where my phone is if I lose it?

I heard that you don't need to install that app. If true, what good is that app for?

The app is to find other devices from your device.

Are you using the same Apple ID under iCloud in settings too? Undo, that's why. You should have separate Apple IDs in all menus except the App Store, where you put the OD for purchases.

I don't get it. If I lose my iphone, then how I can I find using the app Findmyiphone vs. the built-in program?

I feel safe asking these stupid questions here.

You install the app on another device (iPad, partner or family or friends or whatever) and go into it, log in with your Apple ID and locate your missing device. same as logging into iCloud.com to locate the device. The built in program is not the same, it's purely a setting to allow the separate app & iCloud.com to locate the device.

Ok. So I let me see if I got this.

1. Download Findmyiphone app onto my iphone and my macbook.
2. Lose my iphone (hypothetically)
3. Go to findmyiphone app on my mac.
4. Locate missing iphone.

If that's correct, then I heard that your phone has to be on and not turned off for this to work. Also, your phone must not be out of batteries else this won't work as well.

The other way which I don't know much about is to use the built in app that allows you to locate the last place your iphone was before the battery was drained or if your phone is turned off.

To me that that sounds like the built-in app is much better than findmyiphone and it saves you a little memory space for not dl-ing the findmyiphone app.

Just wondering if I'm right here or am I still not getting it =)
