Hey guys,

One of the things that has bugged me and surely all of you for years is the lack of 'notification sync'.

Last year it was touted as part of ios7 but it never seemed to come to fruition other than using iMessage. I still have to clear FaceTime calls, email and other notifications from stock apple apps other than iMessage.

Is there any indication this has been resolved in iOS 8 and third party apps?

The only notifications that don't get cleared for me is FaceTime because I'll accept a FaceTime call on my iPad but because I actually take the request, it appears as 'missed' on my iPhone and vice versa which is really annoying.

Everything else gets cleared as it should though, it's just FaceTime I have the problem with that doesn't clear them.

@kirky29

Yeah it is possible (I think, if you're referring to NOT using 4G?).

Go to Settings > Mobile and then turn "Enable 4G" off.

Also down a bit from that setting is a few more things you can toggle on/off if that helps?

iPod 4g FaceTime & Messenger compatibility?

Does anyone know if devices running iOS 8 will still be able to use FaceTime and Messenger with iPod 4th gen owners?

Don't see that on iOS 7. The fading kind of goes to grayish color before going to black, but no white/flash that I can see. (Using black 16 GB iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2, in case that might play some role in it.)

I'm using an iPad Air 7.1.2.

Every animation that's normally black or fades to black now fades to white or flashes white. This is extremely annoying when you use this feature in a dark environment.

Stupid question, when will the actual version be released to the public, like how long after that September 9th event?

Oh, and stupid question number two, have any stuttering problems been alleviated with iOS on the iPad (Air and retina mini specifically) like Siri animation, anything that involves blurring over the keyboard or rotating screen with keyboard, control/notification center on lock screen, etc?

Usually it's about a week or two after the GM comes out.

As for stuttering or anything like that, so far only betas have been available, and measuring something like that in those doesn't really paint a realistic picture of what things of that nature will be like in the final version.

Is there any way to lock data mode to 3G?

Currently on my Android phone I have the ability to lock the network to Auto - WCDMA only - GSM only

I keep it locked to WCDMA cause where I am is very patchy, I'd rather have internet than gsm!

You could always turn off LTE and just use 4g/3g. Even in iOS 6/7.

GM. But the final realease is usually released the day before (?) or on the day new iPhones become actually available.

Usually 4 days before actually.

Can you attach documents to the forms in Safari for sending?

I don't believe apple updated Safari to use the iCloud/3rd party app document picker when browsing for things other than photos.

Seems like when running iOS 8 beta 5 and Yosemite Beta 2 with iTunes 12, sync doesn't transfer app purchases made on my iPhone 5s to MBP running Yosemite. Not really complaining since all are betas, just curious if others are seeing this...?

How do I download my iCloud pictures? Not photo stream, I really don't want my pictures in the cloud because I keep losing them and its sooo ****ing annoying I want them local, where is the option for this, in the iCloud settings tab and storage management there is an option for turning it off and then it says something about having 30 days to download the photos before they get deleted from iCloud servers. How do I download themmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Thank you

Application you can install on your PC which then does iCloud stuff on your computer which includes creating folders for photos so whats on your iPhone\iPad will show on the computer as well. You can then do something to back them up from there separately as well.

Personally i use the OneDrive app with its background uploader to back my photos up to OneDrive.

for those without dev licenses Will iOS 8 GM break my apps? till the official release date... like WhatsApp who only works with beta versions on iOS 8?

That's down to each individual app. It may or not break - see the current compatibility lists made by MR members to get some idea of what should and shouldn't work. Don't forget, it's down the developers of those apps to fix them.

Will IOS 8 GM be UDID signed ? :):D
It's the same as the final public release (or essentially would normally be unless there are some major issues that need to be addressed quickly), so it wouldn't need any dev registration or anything like that. However, the only way to legally obtain it would be from the developer portal, which is only accessible by registered developers.

In iOS 7 I had a folder called my photo stream. In iOS 8 I don't seem to have that folder with the 400 pictures saved in my photostream anymore.
How will I access my 400 pictures on my iPhone now?
