If you read all the instructions in the watch app, it explains all of this.

1. Actually, this is brilliant and makes a ton of sense. If you are using your phone, you are obviously getting your notifications there. There is no need to get the same notification on your watch. Also, if you aren't wearing the watch the notification will not be pushed to the watch either. It's truly ingenious how smart they handle the notifications.

I'm loving this thing.

BTW: can you reorder glances?

Agree. My only problem is this behavior could be consistent across all apps - at least notifications and phone. So when the phone screen is on and you get a call, I see both ringing unlike notifications which show up only in the phone. But thanks for pointing out the fact that this is documented. Didn't know that. At least it's not a bug :)

Glances - Yes, you can do that in the Apple Watch App in the phone under the Glances settings. There you can rearrange/delete glance screens by tapping, holding and moving the three lines thingy on the right besides each app name.

You can reorder glances through the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, Under My Watch, select Glances. On the right you will see 3 lines, you can use that to move them up or down to change the order.

Awesome...thanks for the info!

Is there a way to only sync certain calendars down to the Watch? On the phone I have a lot of "secondary" calendar that I don't mind keeping there because I have lots of screen estate. But on the phone, I really only want one or maybe two calendars down there.

Hmm. Thought I read it can snarf down the wifi settings from your phone and still accomplish things like Siri without being in range of phone...as long as phone is on the same wifi network.

It can, although you can't connect to WiFi directly, I don't think. When I am out of range of the phone, the Watch will flash the "no phone" icon... And then go on to do exactly as it would have done if the phone were beside it, albeit slightly delayed.

I think it will only hop to WiFi if it can't access the phone via BT. As yet, I've found no way to force it.

Why is my watch sending texts randomly from either my iCloud address or my phone number instead of just from my phone number? My wife now has two threads of my texts and it seems random as to which it sends from...

I talked to Apple support today. They have no ideas. Any of you know how to resolve this?

For the life of me, how do I add more cities to the World Clock??

Add more cities to the World Clock subsection of the clock app on your iPhone. Additionally, the city on top of this list will be displayed on watch faces that include a world clock option.

Can you control the brightness of the display?

Yes, you can manually adjust the brightness and font size and bold type for that matter. Unfortunately, the screen does not support Auto-Brightness.

Does flipping the mute switch on/off on your iPhone turn mute on and off on the watch?

How do I switch Apple ID accounts? I have factory reset my device and it only shows one of the two accounts.

band size

Has anyone had issues with the band size on the Milanese style? My brother's watch arrived today and he (whose wrist is not particularly large) said the band just fits his wrist with no much room to spare.

Anyone else have this issue?

If I have my Apple Watch on in the car, will my iPhone still pair correctly with my car for audio and phone calls over bluetooth?

iPhone alarm doesn't sync with the watch alarm ?

And how do you make the iPhone ring from the watch if I can't find it near me

And how do you make the iPhone ring from the watch if I can't find it near me

Glances > Connected screen > Big button with a picture of a phone with wavy lines either side of it.

The phone will make a sound you'll hear rooms away, so beware of using this when someone is sleeping nearby.

Originally, my contacts on my watch showed the contact images I have set for them in my phone. All of my watch contacts now have a generic silhouette, but I have no idea what I've changed.

Some of my iMessages have also been sent from my email address instead of my phone number, creating a new thread for the recipient. Everything shows in one thread for me.

Think these are related? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Go into settings on your phone and message settings, then go into 'send/receive' and make sure only your phone number is selected

I've tried using the KITT app and the DJAY app, the sound comes through the connected phone, is there a way to get the sound through the watch?

It has a dedicated cable, regular lightning cable won't work. The cable is USB on the other end and comes with one of the little USB plug chargers.

TL;DR, you MUST use the watch's cable, but you can plug into anything that'll charge USB on the other end.

I know all that. I have a 38mm sport. You've answered my usb question though. Thank you.

Hi all,

Anyone know how to get the maps glances like the following picture (showing traffic and estimated time of travel to a set location) -

It's also on the official Apple site
