As a 10 year customer of AT&T, we just switched to T-Mobile last week. We're saving so much money and the service has been the same. Peace out AT&T!

We're $40 less a month than AT&T's new plans and there were no activation fees. What a joke!

Same here, saving $50/month now (since next month AT&T is upping the grandfathered unlimited plan by another $5 per line). T-Mobile's coverage and bandwidth is actually better than AT&T's around our home and places we use our phones.

Every time these american data plans are presented i laugh:) look up at the skylines if you wonder where your money is going.
Unlimited 4g everything is about 17$ here

Everytime I fuel my V8 4.4L I laugh at EU gas prices. We shouldn't compare countries here. Apples vs Androids. We discuss new Att data plan. This plan BTW works for me and I switch at the end of my billing cycle.

Yes, but even with the current UNLIMITED plan, you may be paying more with that then you would be with the new UNLIMITED Plan w/ Tethering. At least it is with me. To switch my 6 Smart phones & 1 wearable, it would be $255 (with discounts) a month. However, switching to the new UNLIMITED TETHERABLE plan, it will be $245 (before discounts) or 227.75 after (15% veterans discount).

Thank you for your service.

And that has what to do with what I pay for cell service in Florida? We have parts in Northern Sweden that has like 0 or 1 person per square mile too, still the prices are the same all over the country (as in the U.S.).

Yes, because subscribers in Florida and other more densely populated states subsidize the cost of infrastructure in those empty states.

I called a customer service rep who looked through the release notes and found where it states FAN does not apply.

If "they" are wrong, then great. If it doesn't apply, I seriously doubt whether you have it in writing or not is gonna matter
it matters to him because management has to each month go in and give him credits to satisfy what someone put in writing. Thats why they dont send anything unofficial out. He is good to go with his discount even if it doesn't come Thursday.

Wrong, reread it. The choice plan gets 3Mbps max. Period.

After 22GB of data usage, AT&T may slow speeds.

Thanks for pointing this out. I read it again and still came to the same conclusion, but then noticed my mistake. I should have read it as 2 sentences. You're totally right. It's 3Mbps. They should have reversed the sentence to avoid confusion, but of course it's confusion that works in their favor. Anyway, should have read:

AT&T may slow speeds after 22GB of data usage.

What does any of this have to do with AT&T's unlimited offering again?

As you see I was RESPONDING to a post with #alternativefacts.

Yes, that was my point to the person who took this up.

I agree. It is however interesting as to why there is such a big difference. In previous years I always defended it by stating that in Europe you didn't get "a free iPhone" (by comitting to 24 months). But now thankfully that has ended. Maybe one of the reasons we are seeing prices go down here?

I'm on T-Mobile, with about 10 lines (business plan)

But I fail to see why anyone is still on AT&T.

With T-Mobile being the cheaper option, and Verizon having a vastly better network than AT&T while still being cheaper, it astounds me that people are still on AT&T.

This is not meant as a personal attack, please explain why you wouldn't switch from them?

My office building has built-in repeaters for AT&T and Verizon. If you have T-Mobile, you have no signal inside.

I'm on a single line plan. Yeah, T-Mob might be 20 cheaper, but that's not worth my phone not working most of my work day.

So grandfathered unlimited users are still outta luck with the tethering? If I'm on a grandfathered unlimited paying $40 data, $40 voice, and $10 unlimited text, I might as well spend $10 more to get the tethering?

At this point, with the grandfathered unlimited, I'd be happy with 5gb of tethering...

The wife and I just jumped ship from our grandfathered unlimited plans to T-Mobile. After the monthly discount, from a former employer, we were still paying $168 a month for 2 lines...with a $5 per line bump coming in March. Jumped on the T-Mobile One unlimited. 2 lines for $100/month with 10 gb of tethering. Throw in the 20% off for life discount I got from an old neighbor who works for T-Mobile and we're at $80/month tax included. Just saved almost $1k per year by making the change and I'm not looking back. Heck we might add my in-laws and parents to our plan. 3 lines with T-Mobile One is $140/month. Lines 4-8 are only an additional $20 per line. We could be looking at 6 lines, unlimited with tethering for $200/month or $33/line. That is tough to beat.

This new unlimited plan is not a deal. They're just throwing in the tethering. And to get that you have to ditch your current grandfathered plan.

Which still doesn't really have anything to do with what this is all about.

Anyone on the grandfTer plan going to switch to the new plus plan if FAN is not included ?

I am. I'm at $86/month for grandfathered unlimited data, unlimited text and 400 minutes a month (that I don't use) after the FAN. And I think that's about to go up $5/month, right? so $91 (with tax) to ~$98? 7 dollars to add tethering? Sure, why not? And I think they'll eventually turn FAN back on for these plans.

The US is a big country, its population is spread out over a much larger area than, say, the U.K. It costs more money to maintain that network because they need more towers to cover people than in more densely populated areas. Thus, the service costs more. Fortunately, they're all competing for the same people, so they have to lower their prices or offer novel features. I'd be shocked if they ever got close to $15/mo unlimited service, though.

But you do have more than 327 million active mobile phones in use, which is some 250 million more high paying subscribers than U.K. And there are more densely populated countries in Europe that have same low prices.

Prices are however going down fast. Scary scenario would be if Verizon buy Sprint and ATT buys T-Mobile. With the new administration that would probably go through without any involvement from the government.

Having been on AT&T's grandfathered unlimited plan since forever, I finally dropped them for T-Mobile after briefly considering Verizon — both of which offer better unlimited plans than this.

What got me to fully embrace T-Mobile is there's currently a promo where you can get 20% off the otherwise $70/mo One plan for life — you just need a code from an employee for the "Insider Hook Up". So I'm looking at unlimited everything (and up to 28GB before you're even theoretically de-prioritized) with 10GB of LTE tethering for $56/mo including taxes/fees. T-Mobile.com/Hookup then use your code there, then sign up within 14 days.

On top of that, if you're porting a number from another carrier there's another promotion that gets you a $150 prepaid debit card. t-mobile.com/promotions code: 17SWITCHER (after you've signed up)

Prior to that, the Verizon $80/mo plan sounded pretty good, but can't beat $56/mo.

That is not unlimited plus.

Correct, i was only stating that the unlimited was there, the unlimited plus won't be available until Thursday, as i mentioned above, they don't have an option/button to add it until Thursday
