Is the 22GB and 10GB Hotspot per line? So if I have 3 lines, I can use a total of 30GB hotspot, spread out at 10GB per line over the course of the month?

I don't like using AutoPay with a bank draft and I believe this is the only form of payment via autopay (listed on AT&T's website) for this type of deal. With AutoPay from a bank draft it is notoriously much harder to dispute a charge and receive the reimbursement/refund vs. using a traditional credit card.
don't you have Overage feature that AT&T just throttle you down, instead of charging extra for going over 20GB? how much were you paying for 20GB share?

I am thinking of switching my 2 lines (one line is grandfather unlimited) to 15GB + 5GB bonus for $120 - 21% discount that include rollover, overage, tether. Saving $8 a month and share 20GB for 2 lines, no worry about overage.

new unlimited plan is nice but cost more and I don't need that much data.

Just as a warning, the throttling is very brutal. Last month we hit our data cap a week before our bill cycle ended. My iPhone was practally unusable except on wifi.

So what is your usage history? Like how many gigs do you purchase and how many do you use on average, if not an old UL plan?

I ask because you say 'data cap'. If you pay for 60gb a month or something like that, surely they don't 'throttle' you at 22gb.

So I just got off another chat I had with an AT&T rep. Basically told me again, my FAN discount cannot be used; however, the Auto Pay option allows for credit cards to be used, not just bank drafts. Additionally, he even offered to sign me up for the unlimited plus plan ahead of tomorrow's release. Basically in his words, "scheduled and once available the plan kicks in."

They are trying to get everyone onto their Directv turkey.

I used to dread walking into the local Worst Try. There was a shark there, that would circle and then come in for the kill: 'Do you have cable?' it would say. 'How would you like to save hundreds on a service that doesn't require wires?' I finally had it. I confronted the shark with all of the problems I had with 'Wonderful DirecTV', and they studiously ignored me from then on. Someone actually asked me what my secret power was after seeing the shark coming in for the kill, and turning around and walking away...

AT&T bought a lemon. They now are trying to force that on people because otherwise they have to assume a huge loss on it, and spin it off to another corporation.

I hated DirecTV. It was always out when the weather got bad. We didn't go with their internet service at the time, and I'm so glad. Between the weather outages, the constant need to have someone come out and 'realign the dish', and the Sun-outs, DirecTV was more drama than I ever wanted. We ended up with U-Verse, because Charter/Spectrum can't/won't service us. They could offer a dozen iPhone 7+'s and I'd still pass if it requires DirecTV. NOPE NOPE NOPE!

We we signed up for the unlimited plan last week but we had the 30GB Mobile Share Advantage plan before. On average our 8 lines were averaging nearly 30GB in the months leading up to last month. Last month was the first time we went over without rollover data available, As we always had a little bit of rollover data available.

Bottom line, if you feel that you can for sure stay within the data allotment that you pay for, then unlimited data may not be for you. But if you find your data usage is increasing, like we are, then it is worth it to take a look at these unlimited plans all the carriers are advertising before making your choice.

If you only have 1 line, doesn't care for tethering, and have a good FAN discount, the grandfathered unlimited plan is still a lot cheaper than the new plans.

For myself:
450 Nation - 39.99
Unlimited Data - 34.99
200 Text messages - 5.00

With the 22% FAN discount I am paying less than $70 per month.

Ah crap so is it confirmed no FAN with the new plans?

I was on one of the grandfathered MSV plans that hasn't been available for quite some time, so it wasn't eligible for the overage feature. It initially started out as a 10GB plan, which I switched to 15GB, when AT&T lowered the prices. A few months later, I got the 5GB bonus data added to my account. I have a 25% FAN discount through my employer and both mine and my wife's phones are fully paid off - my monthly bills were around $118, including all fees and taxes.

I asked this earlier. Haven't had a response and am wary of asking ATT just yet.

I'd have to say the 10gb tethering counts toward the 22gb soft cap on each line.
Based on various replies in this thread it seems to be per line.

So that's just plain throttling or deprioritization?

I'm still looking for the catch. Anything I might be missing out on from my current plan if I go with the Unlimited Plus?

$99.99 Nation Unlimited
$35.00 Data Unlimited for iPhone on 4G LTE with VVM
$20.00 Messaging Unlimited
$00.00 International Roaming - Expanded

You dont happen to have FAN discounts do you? Because those would reduce you nation unlimited and data unlimited prices. But quick math tells me you would need FAN to be %50 discount in order turn your 154 MRC to 87

Under Plus you would pay 90 or 95 if you don't do auto pay.

My FAN discount is 23%, but in doing the math, it looks like it only applies to my $35 Data plan. It seems like the new unlimited plan is a better deal for me as it will be cheaper and I'll have tethering. Is there any difference in limit before throttling on the old grand fathered AT&T plan and the new plans?

what I understand is that throttling of your data speed will occur when these 2 situations are met:
1. You have gone over 22 GB (soft cap) AND
2. The tower you are using is congested with lots of traffic.

So in the above case you will receive very slow speeds on your data connection.

Is it throttling or deprioritization in AT&T's case?

Could someone explain the "discounts start within 3 bill cycles". I'm ok with that but does that mean if it does take three months that the discounts will be X3 the first time they appear?

That's generally how it works.

Is there a difference in throttling level between the grandfathered unlimited plan and the unlimited plan?

Because that has what to do with AT&T, VZN, TMO et all? And *IF* we should take that into account our prices should be higher at not lower...

Because, for instance, Comcast don't have it?

No, no data caps with Comcast, or at least not that I have seen.

Unlimited Choice seems okay but 3mbps come on man

Thanks. One more question - is 3Mbps good or bad?
For streaming video nope but music is okay and instagram , Snapchat and browse the web
