So I went into an actual AT&T store and talked to the reps there.

-FAN discounts do NOT apply to the new unlimited plans.
-10GB tethering counts towards the 22GB of "unlimited" data for each line.
-Autopay with debit card is required to receive the advertised pricing. Credit card autopay doesn't get the discount.

I backed out my upgrades from yesterday and will remain on the grandfathered unlimited data plan. T-Mobile is looking really good right now.
Seems just about the same as VZW's rules for their new unlimited plan.

So does the fan discount stay on our accounts for accessories only?

It does not apply to the unlimited plans. Its not tied to a plan but to your account. So you still get you FAN for accessories.

Looks like VZ tracks Hotspot but its also unlimited. Slows to 3G after 10 GB.
[doublepost=1488565036][/doublepost]So for me, switching is the same price as I pay now. Only advantage is hotspot. Not going to auto-pay unless I can do Credit Card.

Can anyone if Maryland, DC, VA share their coverage and quality thoughts regarding Verizon service?

T-Mobile's unlimited data plans come with 28GB, so that alone comes close to making it a moot point.

TMobile store rep told me 64gb? Cool although I rarely ever get close to using 22gb of mobile data. He also mentioned they only throttle in high traffic areas.

I haven't seen any mention to 64GB on their website. It lists 28GB in the fine print. Regardless, that is more data than we need.

Not to get off the topic of this thread again but even though I've been with at&t since before it turned into cingular, if you have decent/good coverage in your area the 3 lines for unlimited data(64gbs)/everything(tethering included) $100, tax included, promo is really a no brainer.

Ths CS rep for at&t provided 0 incentives to keep me as a customer when I was explaining why I wanted to unlock my phones.

I expect another unlimited package option to appear sooner than later from at&t.

Did you end up switching to T-Mobile?

Currently in the process of switching over but this message from a att cs rep has my attention lol

I did end up opening an account with TMobile just to hop on the promo just in case it ends abruptly. Worst comes to worst it's not a 2 year agreement.

Was this in reply to something you said? How did they send you the message?

It would seem that the "if you would like" part would be self-evident!

I will laugh so, so hard if they make another massive change to their plans just a few days after introducing these "new" unlimited plans. Lost me to T-Mobile with the first unlimited plan introduction and these new plans are a step in the right direction, but not enough.

Was in response to me asking if they are able to put together custom packages to retain customers who want to leave. The reply was through direct messages on twitter.

Get your sim cards online, they're basically free.

Yes I agree, "if you would like"? Well do you still want to keep me as a customer?

HAHA! Every time I spoke with AT&T CSRs, they really didn't want to keep me as a customer even though I had been with them for 10 year and was a "Platinum" as part of their Thanks program (and had paid them in excess of $25k over that time).

We decided to keep our 60 GB a month data plan instead of going unlimited. I prefer all my data to be fast even after going over 22GB.

Plus no slow down to 128 Kbps when tethering if you go over 10 GB.

We hardly use 5 or 10 GB a month.

60 GB data plan must cost quote a bit in general, and especially in comparison to the new unlimited offerings or even existing tiered offerings with less data (in particular when most of the time only 5-10 GB get used up).

Well actually it is 30 GB but with the double gigs they offer it is 60 GB.

It is spread out on 5 devices.

First, accounts may be slowed. Its not a guarantee.
Second, You mean you use no more than 5 or 10 GB for tethering?

Unlimited plans may be slowed. If you pay by the Gigabyte, you will not be slowed. If you only use 10 GB, count it not be cheaper to get a smaller plan?

The unlimited plan they had before this updated one on Thursday allowed fan discounts. So why not now
