I’m beginning to think AT&T (and Verizon) does not want to activate E-Sim at all. Mine has been working well since 12.1 beta with no problems. Now it seems they’re just making an excuse on why they can’t activate.
Ya That seems about right.

If you call ATT and ask they say it's live, but walk into your local ATT store to get the QR code, and they have no idea what's going on...

i just went to 2 stores and they both said i need to activate a new line and cant do a sim swap because its not a sim i kept arguing with him
these people are so stupid its unreal

This DOES NOT work as of now still, I spent 2 hours at the store with numerous agents in person and on the phone. Even after the announcement, this does not work.

Like these people are so clueless.. As noted by someone else on these forums and I fully believe it, you dont even need to do anything its a regular sim card swap and you can even do it online yourself. Esim inside the phone is the same as a physical sim it just stores an ICCID number.
The guy in my store would not give me the blue card with the QR code.

I'm looking to have two lines with AT&T on my phone. If you are on Line 1 on your phone, if someone rings Line 2, does your phone indicate anything?
Yes, you can assign a label )Home, work, personal, business, other) to each line and then during an incoming call it indicates which line is ringing.

Ok I went to Corp store and they couldn’t get my main att line to the esim. They said I need another carrier sim in the slot to activate esim. I gave up and ask for a esim QR code to do at home.

Doesn’t make sense they couldn’t activate my att line to the esim?

Were you able to get an esim to take out ?

Yes I took esim QR code home.
Lucky you, the guy wouldnt give it to me. I had it in my hand and even offered to pay 10$ or whatever the price is. He said no he will only give it to me if i activate a new line.

This is beyond ridiculous. I went to the local AT&T store this morning and staffs there helped me activated esim within like 10 minutes.

where are you at?
I am in Las Vegas probably everybody got too much sun to function properly.

Verizon chat helped me activate my eSIM today. Worked well. Then I thought I would see what would happen if I took my iPhone back to the factory settings and reinstalled all my software. It never reactivated Verizon because it deleted the eSim configuration unlike having a physical SIM card. I had to go to the Verizon store and have them reactivate my old SIM card.

I went to another Corp store finally got it to work. The phone had to be on Wifi when scanning the QR code.

Is there any known benefits to switching my main line to esim and leaving the sim tray empty?
