For anyone who's keeping track and hoping there is a method to the madness (which I somehow doubt, lol):
AT&T Retail Store, 32GB, delivering to house; ordered 6/15 @ 11:36 a.m. Central (went through computer, not a paper order)
Order number starts X461
Status never backordered, showed 6/15 order date
Paid via Amex, card not charged. Says on receipt will charge when shipped.
Showing as shipped via Fedex on 6/18 with tracking number (not valid on Fedex yet) as of early this a.m. No shipping email.
Could not order online through premier as it kept going down before I could process the checkout. Ended up having my husband's truck have issues and having to go into the next town to help him -- passed the AT&T store, so stopped in. So I guess I have car trouble to thank that I have a tracking number.
FWIW, my receipt says "Economy Freight" so we'll see what that means...
