There's an order number for me somewhere in the hellish abyss.

I said I was afraid, I didn't say you were. I'm just surprised they didn't do that. I was kicked back to June 2011 before the page loaded.

Holy ****.

So I ordered from an AT&T Store at 2pm CST on the 15th.

I still have no tracking info.. and since I cant ensure I'm guaranteed an iPhone through shipping on the 24th.. I want to cancel my order. (I have one reserved at the Apple Store at 7am locally that I will just get)

I call AT&T to cancel my order being shipped to me.. They said "We can't do that since its 'In Progress'" I'm like wtf? Then she tells me even the store can't cancel it...

Then I ask for a supervisor.. She tells me I have to wait for an email saying if its shipped or not for it to cancel which can be "Whenever.. maybe not the 24th maybe later".

I then am still baffled at how I can't cancel a preorder where they haven't charged me and they can't wipe my information from their system.

Supervisor then says "Go to the store then..."

Which is what I asked for in the beginning and she then goes.. "Oh sorry the other representative said that.. but yes you can go to the store"

wtf?

Dude, this is really getting frustrated, you tell me they can't tell you when your gonna get and they tell you your order can't be canceled. Isn't there an app for that?????

This has the makings of a complete mess ....

If I don't hear word that I will be getting my phone on the 24th and my upgrade eligibility still hasn't changed I'll be heading to the apple store and using my reservation. Then I'll let ATT figure out what to do with the phone that got lost in limbo.

Shipped

Ordered from an AT&T store on the 15th, received confirmation email the same day. Initially indicated as back ordered for a day or so, then indicated "in progress". This morning changed to "shipped" with a tracking number. Tracking number not yet active on FedEx site. AmEx not yet charged by the way.

It just gets more frustrating by the minute. I just talked to an AT&T rep who told me that it was an "error" in their system that caused people to receive notification that their iphones had been shipped and that it should be fixed by now. She also said that they are "hoping" to get everyone that preordered on the 15th their phone by the 24th, but its not certain. I preordered the 32g on the 15th around 1:30pm est and I'm still "in progress".

Actually, I read a theory that made the most sense: FedEx is the one dictating the relase of the orders. They are trying to plan this to arrive on the 24th, so distant and rural areas would need to ship first. More urban areas and areas in Texas would not need to hit the road early. They could leave Wednesday and still make it in time.

If that's the case, the bulk of the orders will leave tomorrow with areas local to the distro point and FedEx hubs leaving last.

Just a theory, but one I am willing to believe.

I'm in the same boat...ordered phone for my wife at 630 AM PST from Premier site, 32 GB and I've been stuck at the backordered 1 on the order status page, and in process on the Premier page...I'm sure this will all get worked out. It is frustrating to see this happen when things are going smoothly (relative term) on the Apple.com end.

Interestingly, I placed the order at 630am PST on 6/15, received the email confirmation at 750AM PST, then an updated iphone CSS from AT&T on June 18. Other than that, nothing has budged.

My two cents

I bet. My order is 1hr from dallas. Argh.

We are excited for both of you but it does not matter as they will not be delivered till the 24th. This is not the first time that Apple has done a big introduction with FedEx and they both know exactly what they are doing!

Just like the iPad, if you live in the city or close to it you could get delivery by 10:30am, but if in the boonies, by 4:30.

That's wierd,I thought I started this thread for people who view their glasses as half full. I must be losing my mind.

dang it, now i want to cancel the order and pick up my reservation, att said my phone is at the warehouse scheduled to ship on thursday :D

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but just a thought. Maybe us customers who ordered from an AT&T are not receiving a tracking number due to the fact that WE are not receiving the shipment, the brick and mortar store is. I can see why customers who are receiving their iPhone at their house would receive a tracking number, but us customers who are going to pick it up at the brick and mortar store may not receive this info. Just a thought.:apple:

That makes sense. But hows it that my brother's order was supposedly shipped today, and mine wasn't. (We don't live in a rural area, and we live in the same house).

I want this logic explained to me, because I ordered mine before his.

Can anyone shed some light on the shipping carrier labeled as "null"...I just talked to my friend who preordered also and his shipping carrier is labeled "null" and he does have a tracking number that starts with a 4...anyone?

Mine's in AK too :) I'll just be happy to see it in my home town on the 23rd, knowing I'll get it on time on the 24th.
