I ordered the iPhone at 8 AM June 15th from the Premier Site. I received a confirm email right after the order went through. It has said processing since the order was placed.
I log on today and it still says the last update is the 15th and processing.
I tried to get the order to show up on the regular website and it is not showing up at all.
I called ATT (not premier - they are closed on the weekends) and they told me they could not find my ordered and are worried because the contract date has not been extended. They told me to contact Premier first thing in the morning.
I do not know what to do...is anyone else in this situation?

Your contract doesn't extend until you're charged (which means when the phone ships)...

Not to worry. I called today because the money had been put back into my account. Turns out they couldn't find my order either, but you have to give them the order number on the AT&T wireless site by using your phone number to find the order. If I were not to do that, he would be claiming that the upgrade would still be eligible though I used it. After giving him the wireless order number, he told me that it would still get to my doorstep June 24th on ship day. Also, the money getting put back in is a hold and will be taken out once the item is shipped. Makes perfect sense of course.
So nothing to worry, you'll still get your phone on the 24th. I think this whole 'July 2nd' story is starting to become a rumor. My order says 'back ordered' on the wireless site, yet two CSR's in two days have said that is false and it's ready to be shipped.
So... if this is the case, that means that Apple's store still sees the upgrade eligibility, and Best Buy, and Radioshack. Does that mean if you ordered a phone from ATT, and it's waiting to process your contract, could you order another one from Apple at the discounted rate while we sit in this limbo space. And due to the confusions over the ordering, end up with two phones for the discounted price?
Ofcourse, you could only activate on probably, so you'd have to wait for the jailbreak of iOS4 (which I don't know if its public yet), and then unlock it, and sell it on Ebay for a stack of cash.

I have question, When I ordered my iPhone 4 from att it said I am upgraded my phone but when I check my status, it says New Service, any of you get the same thing????
Hi, new to posting here. I've lurked for a while though.
So here's the skinny on my order.
Between 6am and 7am EST I attempted to order on the 24th. Apple wouldn't work, and ATT via Premier wouldn't work. I actually ended up using Premier via my iPhone to get my order in. That blue GO button is magical when you need it.
Anyway. I had a charge for the amount of the phone + $18 upgrade fee on my debit card. $317 and some change. No tax though.
As of today, I can only check my order through the Premier link, my order status shows that I ordered on 6/15, and it was last updated on 6/16, presumably to the status of Processing, which it now shows:

And in doing a c&p of my order page... what's with that complete? It says processing in the pretty little picture.
For the record, this is an upgrade not a new line of service (on my line on my family plan, not my fiance's non-iPhone line). I also wanted to keep my unlimited data and texting, but it made me pick unlimited texting as new?
My charge on my card hath vanished. Now I know that holds expire. It's just with all the hullabaloo surrounding these preorders, I'm concerned. Especially since I dialed *639# and it says I'm still elligible for an upgrade. I've called ATT, and they see my order, processing, but it hasn't shipped (obviously).
I just got off the phone with Att. I had to wait awhile to speak to a supervisor but I finally did. If you used a check card with the Visa or Mastercard logo....everything should be fine. My charge fell off today and I will be charged again when the iPhone ships out. YAY!!!! I ordered the 15th at 4:18pm and he said I am in the first batch. He put me on hold about 10 minutes to check. Who knows?
I'm having the exact same experience as you. I ordered at 1:25am pst. Have you tried checking your status on AT&T.com? When I check mine, it still says my phone is back ordered. I don't get it.
The att site won't accept my order number, wireless number, home number, or billing or shipping zipcodes.
However when I called AT&T, they do see my order.
I dunno.
I ordered in store and did the whole pen and paper route since everything was messed up on the 15th. Got my Conf. email and when checking my order all looks good, "processing", 6/15/10, etc. I haven't noticed any hold or charge on my Debit card but I didn't check it till a couple days after so any hold may have disappeared.
I have to say the ATT rep at the store went above and beyond to help even calling me after 8pm to ensure I had gotten a conf. email. Even with all the hassle and mystery surrounding shipping dates I'm pretty happy about that.
Curious if anyone has tried to *639# their eligibility and got a text stating "requested information is currently unavailable"?
The text message i got back said the same thing.
My debit card hold went away as of yesterday, but i went online today and it's back on there.
A lot of people are noticing "Prepared for shipment" on Apples site. Maybe the hold getting put back on our accounts is AT&Ts way of stating "Prepared for shipment".
Who knows?

When i pre-ordered w/ my debit card my account had the amount pending for a few days and then it disappeared and i had access to that money again, now the charge is pending again so i don't know if this is the real deal and it is getting ready to ship or what. I've never pre-ordered something with my card so i'm not familiar with how it works.
Dallas112678, usually when you create the transaction an authorization gets made to see if you have the money, i'm guessing for them not to just make an order for nothing. Once the shipment gets prepared they finalize the authorization and it gets put back on your account to be taken out so then once it ships they have their money.

Thats what i'm hoping because mine also did the same thing today. The only thing that makes me worry is i pre-ordered around 4:30 when ATT moved the ship dates to "between june 25th - july 5" so i just took that as i won't be getting it for a few days after the launch, but who knows.
