I just called At&t again about this issue. Having a "1" or a "0" in back ordered is not a significant determiner. I was told that you will know definitely on Tues whether or not you are receiving it in the first batch.

So you have a friend whos a 'sr. vp' at AT&T and you just told us Backordered or not doesn't mean anything..
Now you are saying some AT&T Reps are stating the above..
So I guess those AT&T reps suddenly out weigh your "Sr. VP" friend?

I'm not to worried. I think AT&T should be able to handle the people that ordered all the way through that 5pm cut off time which has been floating around on the 15th.

Didnt think those two comments necessarily contradicted themselves. My friend who is pretty senior at AT&T (corporate guy) said that the back order comments are arbitrary and orders get fulfilled in order they were placed. There are 2 separate lines internally for premier vs personal.
After reading some threads and calling AT&T, the rep said back order means order placed whereas no back order means order not yet at fulfillment center.

Hmm, I guess we're all just confused
I hardly know what to believe anymore, I have "0" under back-ordered and it's been the same since 6/15... I guess I'll just wait till Tuesday or Wednesday to really know what's going on. I hope I don't have to wait till July 15 though like your previous comment stated, that would seriously suck...I need to stop reading this thread, since it is driving me crazy. Ordered on the 15th, displays the 16th
I ordered on AT&T's site on the 15th and the website crashed just as I was submitting my CC information. I tried again, but was unable to get anything processed on the AT&T site and didn't know if my order went through or not (since I didn't reach a page with a confirmation number). So I kept trying on the Apple site until I was able to order. I got through on Apple's site with a July 2nd delivery date! Then like a freaking miracle, I get an email from AT&T the following day telling me that they were processing my order. They have me listed as ordering on the 16th, which I know I definitely did not do. So I figured I'd wait to see when the AT&T order ships and keep whichever comes first and cancel the other order. After reading this thread, I decided to call AT&T and they tell me that I will receive my phone on the 24th. They said the site says the 16th, but their system says I ordered on the 15th. I couldn't be any happier. Hopefully the phone rep was serious and not pulling my chain.
Ordered mine at 6am ish on June 15, although it says I ordered on the 16th...and mine has alwyas been in the ordered column, never backordered. Hoping this comes on the 24th, if not before July2d, Ill be away for a month!

I just called 1-866-499-8008 and the answering system said that my order has processed and is ready to ship..hmmm
Just did the same and said "your order has been completed"

I ordered my iphone in the AT&T store on the 15th. Order Status says 15th and Processing. The store just called me a few minutes ago to confirm my purchase and said i will get an email when it is shipped.
I asked if there was any way to know when it would be shipped and she replied, "I wish I had some secret information or could lie to you to make you happy, but we have no way of knowing."
I will just keep checking my order status anyway but I feel good about the call and status of my phone.

Might be useful to people that want data: Ordered from the premier store. Got my confirmation email 2:29 AM pacific time the 15th. Main store says backordered 1.
The premier store says processing. Card has the full amount pending from AT&T. Calling 1-866-499-8008 resulted in "Your order has been processed and will ship shortly."
I have a hunch it's probably going to arrive that first day just based on how quickly I got it ordered, but I don't really care. I'll be so busy that day I might not even get it opened for 24 hours anyhow. My current iPhone is fine and for some reason I'm just not able to obsess over this stuff like I used to.
