Except...

This thread is for AT&T orders.. not Apple. Hence the thread title.
 
I got charged twice for one iPhone. When I log onto the Premier site it says I only have one iPhone pending, but when I log into the regular AT&T site it says I have 2 iPhones under the same order number and same phone number. However, the Premier email states I only ordered one for my account.

Naturally, I called up AT&T today and they see two separate orders placed, but I cannot cancel one until Monday since you cannot contact Premier customer service over the weekend. Here's to hoping they don't cancel both orders since their system screwed up.

Same exact thing happened to me. The first rep referred me to the online customer service. It took quite a few "please hold"s and checking with his floor manager but they canceled the duplicate order and the first order still shows "in progress."
 
The premier store says processing. Card has the full amount pending from AT&T. Calling 1-866-499-8008 resulted in "Your order has been processed and will ship shortly."

I called and got the exact same answer. I hope this is a good thing. My iphone is also "backordered", which I'm beginning to believe may be a good thing actually. :confused:

The backordered thing really doesn't help. All that matters is when your order was first processed.
 
Still says "In Progress" and says that I ordered the 17th when I really ordered the 15th at 10:40am. Just talked to an AT&T rep though and they said that it shows that I ordered it the 15th.

The wait

The wait is killing me! I don't think I can wait until the 24th! If at all my AT&T order is coming on the 24th... Usually I order through Apple. I have no experience with AT&T orders. Does anyone have any info on their usual a process? How soon do they usually notify of shipment? Does anyone know?

Websites were crashing and going slow on the 15th so I went to an ATT store to pre-order. I have not read anyone getting this email message:



"Dear John,

Thank you for your recent order. Your iPhone has been reserved and is expected to ship on or after June 24, 2010. Your order details as well as activation instructions are included below.

As soon as your device ships, we will send an email confirmation including a tracking number for your convenience. In the meantime, you can check the status of your order on our website at any time by clicking (LINK) or by calling our automated system at 1-877-782-8870."



The "on or after" part has me worried. I thought pre-orders are delivered on the 24th release day?? I ordered around 2:00PM on the 15th. Email came at around 3:26PM.

AT&T is just covering their arises with this imprecise text in their emails. It confuses all their low level employees who are also kept in the dark. What they don't get is that it makes the ordering process miserable for customers.

At the end of the day they are going to send them whenever they feel like it and I just hope it is in some logical order. They need to learn from Apple I'm that we appreciate more precise language and a better database that tracks fulfillment.

Call you cc company speak to a rep and see if there are any charges pending. Ask specifically about AT&T or a telephone company. According to what I understand and have been told AT&T won't charge the amount until the phone is shipped.

FWIW my card has the cost of 2 iphones w/tax as pending set to hit as a legit charge on Monday (according to the cc rep I spoke with). Whether that will happen remains to be seen. I'm definitely calling my cc on Monday for an update.

Edit: Ordered my sets on Jun 15 at about 5:15 EST through the regular website. However the phones were sitting in my cart for over an hour before check out (not sure whether that matters or not). My confirm page shows order placed on Jun 16 and as "in progress". June 16 is the date that AT&T initiated the hold on my card.

My order was on the 11th, my post was the 16th pm, and I did receive my order via FEDEX on the 19th as promised. I wish that I hadn't stressed over the whole thing like I did, but when your orders fate is in att hands, it's not easy.

And for the "record", Apple ships ALL of the orders directly from China, days before delivery. They are not sitting in warehouses throughout the country.
 
Funny. I have backordered as status on the regular site as a status, but the premier phone status check says it's processed and will ship soon.

I seriously think that you need to go by the order status on the premier site. My order number from the premier site wont even work on the regular site, just my cell number. Also, when I received the email from the premier site confirming my order which was placed on June 15th at 5:10 am CST, it listed the link for the premier site to check my order status, not the regular AT&T order status link. I think it is showing backorder on the regular site for anyone who didn't order their phone from the regular AT&T site, which is causing lots of confusion. Come on people use your head. Why would your order be placed on backorder especially if you ordered ur phone early. Alot of people are just trying to create have because so many people are stressing. I believe that if you order your phone on the early on 15th you will receive your phone on the 24th or 25th. Ignore all these people who are just having a laugh off of your impatience and stress!!!

I noticed that after I logged into the regular order status page to check on my order (with my wireless #), the order # there is completely different than the order # that I originally received in the confirmation email on the 15th and the one that is listed on the Premier site.
