are you
1. doing an upgrade for your att account?
2. doing a port from another carrier?
3. a brand new activation but not porting number.

I am #2. I ordered at 715am EDT on 6/15. My phone is on back-order. I ordered through "premier."

6/15 715am EDT completed order process
6/15 720am recieve confirmation email
6/19 755pm recieve "attention" email (port)
6/21 8-1030am take care of port issue
6/22 am - I called to check in since I can't find my order on wireless.att.com and was told everything is fine
6/22 500pm - received "attention" email (CC decline due to suspected fraud)
6/22 pm - took care of CC issue (different card) and I could immediately see my order change back to processing and later found my order on wireless.att.com - was told to expect a shipping email with tracking info in 6-12 hours
6/23 am - I called to check in of course because my order is on back-order
6/23 am - I visited a local AT&T store to try to speed things up to no avail
6/23 pm - I called to check in again and hung up after 40+ minutes on hold
6/24 am - I spent an hour chatting with "premier" chat personnel and was given the usual runaround, no, actually worse
6/24 am - I visited a different AT&T store but they could not help me either.
6/24 pm - I called again to check in, CSR was a very good liar and promised me I'd see my phone by 430pm tomorrow.
6/24 pm - I lost faith in the most recent CSR and started trying to find a twitter and facebook account for AT&T. Facebook did respond but cannot help. I have been told again that all pre-orders will be fulfilled and I need to wait for my shipping email. I have now turned to emailing investor relations and will also try again on their facebook page, perhaps posting the whole sordid affair will make them wake up and do something about all the **** they've put us through. My order is back-ordered and by the looks of it I will not be seeing it until July since we are leaving to go on vacation on Saturday.

Hey guys and gals, to the few that are left, that did order on 6/15, and do not have the phones, I wanted to do a quick poll....

are you
1. doing an upgrade for your att account?
2. doing a port from another carrier?
3. a brand new activation but not porting number.

if anyone can reply real quick with which scenario you are in, I'd appreciate it.

my order number is the 5051 batch. and I am in scenario number 2.

Thanks!

I am adding a line and porting.
32GB, 5:00 AM EST, 6804...

My iPhone has been Out For Delivery since 7:00AM this morning. It's 5:45PM and still nothing. The UPS hub is a mile away from my house. I have patience, but for goodness sake this is getting silly.

Yours is not the only package on the truck. They don't load up the truck just with your iPhone and then zip in a straight line right from the UPS hub to your house a mile away. That's why it can take all day for deliveries to be made in a very small area. But of course you knew that ...

I ordered through apple.com on the 15th to upgrade my current ATT acct, current order status as of 10:20, June 24th:

Apple.com says my order is prepared for shipment, has said that for maybe a week. Has not yet been shipped, but still says "Ships: Delivers June 24th"

Considering that I'm running out of June 24th, I'm kind of disappointed.

Finally fell asleep. UPS guy knocked at 7:06pm or so [very end], woke up walked to door like a zombie.
:)

Went straight to AT&T to get a case before I opened my box.

Manual Order - Epic Failure

I guess I'll baww a little since I haven't even been updated at all today. I ordered in-store around 2pm on 6/15. The computers were down and took my order manually (self facepalm) and was PROMISED everything was cool and would get it the 24th. Get a call that Friday from the manager. "Sorry, but we messed up the order and didn't get put through till 6/17" Guy was gonna try and hook me up with walk-in phone, then the 29th deal happened. Been calling 611 trying to squeeze some info out of them but I don't think they know anymore then me. Manager was supposed to call me today, yesterday, whenever but nothing.

I don't mind the waiting as much as the straight up lies I get when talking to these people. They can't even give me a time frame for when I could get it. My credit card has been charged fully, it went off of pending status on the 17th and contract is renewed(of course). The only thing they can tell me is that I might get it tomorrow or the next day, or the next day.....
Just wanted to post and let you guys know you weren't alone. :(

Pfffttt....

Just figured I'd throw in my 2 cents. Yep, I'm apparently stuck in 5051 hell as well. Never received a conformation e-mail and my status has never changed from "In Progress" I've never been on back-order or anything. I ordered on the 15th around 12:15PM and it's been frozen in that condition ever since. I really don't think it's worth calling them, but I'm really tempted just to cancel the stupid order (that they charge me for on the 21st I think) and wait for the white phones to come out and order directly from Apple. I hope that I can expect better service from AT&T than this in the future. Oh, this is my 1st iPhone btw... not too impressed so far.... OH, and a friend of mine ordered like 30min. before me, and got her iPhone yesterday. How does this make sense? Hmmm..... Oh, it'd doesn't!

I don't think you can cancel buddy because I'm in the exact same situation and I've called and tried to ask about my options and there is only one, WAIT.. So I was upset. Just hoping it comes by Tuesday as I heard.
And I'm still In Progress also, order number 50512, ordered 15th at 4:30am.

So I ordered by Iphone from AT&T Premier at 10:30am on 6/15. I get an email from AT&T on 6/22 that my phone has shipped. However, the Fedex tracking number since then states "Initiated" and "Jun 22, 2010 4:19 PM -Shipment information sent to FedEx". It initially said expected delivery date as Jun 23 2010 3:00pm but that has since disappeared. Now it just stays stuck as Initiated. I called Fedex and they say a label was likely printed but the package has not been received or scanned by them. AT&T states the package was shipping and is in Fedex's hands. What the heck is going on and where is this phone now?? Anyone else w/ this problem?

Argghh....AT&T is no help at all. The rep keeps telling me Fedex has it...Fedex says that AT&T still has it.

I checked to be sure it wasn't my port holding it up by chatting with the port department on att - I found a link somewhere in the deep dark section of att/support. they said my current provider has allowed the release of the number, so it's not the port, but maybe it's that the date our orders were sent to fulfillment/warehouse have sent us to the bottom of the pile, which is total CRAP. I got some answers - if somehow you find an iphone in a store tomorrow - you can still cancel the order by calling some "web order" department. I didn't write the number down but I may try - probably not since I have not slept in 20+ hours and I have 2 kids who would certainly not appreciate being dragged through the mall for however long it takes. I could not change the address to ship to the vacation destination - so hopefully fedex will hold it long enough for me to claim it - and if they just leave it my elderly neighbors will be watching out for it.

I ordered 6/15 on premier but my att order date is 6/22.

I canceled my pre-order this evening. I want an iPhone 4, but after all this nonsense I've decided to just wait a few weeks and get one the old-fashioned way: directly from Apple, not AT&T.

hi icecream,

it's one thing that through porting, that takes up time. in the back of my mind, I knew this would be possibly put us to the bottom pile. the problem I have is that through talking to 3 reps, they told me to ignore the updated order date of 6/18, and they told me 6/15 order date stands. that's the frustrating part...the inconsistency. and when I talked to 2 of the supervisors, they are inconsistent as well, one tell me to wait and it will show, and the other said that I've been pushed back to 6/29.

one other thing, the att rep that I spoke with today, he did tell me that premier orders are really out of stock, so it may be a good idea like you mentioned, to go the store and see if they have extra left over. I just do not want to deal with lines at the store either, so maybe I'll wait a couple of more days. still, the more I think of it, I am mad at both apple and att both. good luck with everybody else that are in the same boat as I. I hope you guys will get your phones tomorrow or maybe Saturday. I really do not have much faith on my order showing up this week at all. the saga continues....

There is no calm for the anxious.

I distinctly remember being told that my order would arrive sometime between June 25 and as late as July 6th. This was mentioned at the register at my retail AT&T store.

I suspect that if you take the time to watch a kettle boil, you will drive yourself crazy. I believe that is what is happening here.

There are two reasons to pre-order. One, to get the phone on launch day, or as in many cases before launch day. Two, to not have to fight the lines.

What is happening here, not only have the lines come to the forums, people get upset when there appears to be an out of order fulfillment situation.

Fairness is a very basic instinct that many higher level mammals have. It's fundamental to how we socialize. However the truth is, there is no such thing as fairness, when a machine is doing the accounting. We all can see this, in this unprecedented two weeks.

For everyone, this is an awesome social experience, coming to the forums and discussing what we know, telling stories.

I say be glad you are not standing in line today, for 10 hours, possibly finding out that when it's your turn, the phones are all sold out. Or along the journey some are turning out to be defective or flawed.

Everyone who ordered on the 15th will get a phone. However some 15th orders got bumped to the 16th and 17th. I suspect for logistics reasons, although desirable on AT&T's part, they were not able to deliver in the same order in which orders were received.

The bumps and glitches made it work out that phones were assigned as the planets lined up for each customer. The first come first served metaphor is in no relation to when you signed the dotted line. It is defined as to when your order finally made it to the warehouse for fulfillment. One reason or another, everyone who is left, has had the delay due to some computer glitch, CC glitch, extra red tape based on circumstances.

Please have some humility, until the last promised delivery day given to us, at which point I believe a grip is most worthy.

Apple and AT&T want to sell you an iPhone and they mean no harm. In general there are no lies here. A specific CSR could be wrong or dishonest, but that does not mean the company is behind that. Typically they are just as upset and frustrated as many of us here are. Talk nice to them and wish them a good day.

I wish you a happy delivery.

Is there no one left? Am I alone here with my "In Progress" status and no iPhone?

I got your back buddy.. We are both in the same boat. I called yesterday and they told me that my iphone was not shipped yet, and
i told him to cancel the order be cause he said that I should expect it before or on the 28th. I told him that I might as well cancel the order and go on the 29th to a AT&T store and get one. So really the point of pre-ordering was to get the phone on release day or at least before the regular customers.....

This is BS

I'm still here too.

I'm still here too.

Count me in, I just gave up on checking my status atleast til Monday. I wanted to cancel and stand in line on the 29th but I can't even do that because my orders been processed and I would have to pay full price so therefore I have to wait.
I was also told that 32GB entered the warehouse late yesterday after a delay and supposively should be shipping right away but don't hold your breath.

Still here too. So tired of seeing "in progress" again today.

Maybe the magic iPhone Fairy (iPhairy?) will bring us all phones today. I doubt it, but just as my nieces believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa, I'm going to believe in the iPhairy.
