I'm still here, no change in status, no magic emails to take away the pain...

I'm considering going to the mall to check out the apple store lines mid-morning. I just hope they have a way for me to cancel my pre-order IF I can get a phone today because I have just 6.5 minutes left on my cell phone and BECAUSE of the pre-order (port in progress), I have no way to add more.

I may also fire off a couple of emails to some corporate people at AT&T to see if they or their assistants can tell me the truth about my order.

I doubt my order will even be shipped ON Monday, but I won't see it anyway until July since we're leaving tomorrow for vacation.
 
Yeah I'm done calling AT&T, I'll just wait and maybe send a email once I get it but atleast I still have my 3GS wit 4.0 to hold me over, glad I didn't sell it yet and also has anybody heard about the AT&T employees not able to have a iPhone 4. My friend works there and said his boss won't activate his because it's a violation of something to do with the micro-sim. And he has a dark spot on his iPhone 4. He is upset wit AT&T and Apple as well.
Needless to say, this is a crazy experience.
 
Still in process here too. Ordered two phones, 32GB, on 6/15 @ 11:00 am ET. Porting two numbers from sprint...
 
missed the ups guy yesterday. would not let me pick it up or leave a note.. taking another day off of work for my daughters 16gb. the other 2 32gb iP4's are still processing. Has anyones at&t order status changed since the 23rd.??

AT&T's service is far from stellar, but why is it their fault that you weren't home when the UPS guy came? There is a reason they don't let everyone run down to a central hub and demand to pick up their package there. UPS is a package delivery service, not a package pick-up at a counter service. They are not set up for that. There is also a reason why you can't just leave a note saying, "Hey it's OK, just leave the package."

I was here dumbass! Maybe UPS should give me more than 15 seconds to answer the damn door! i dont mind waiting an extra day anyway. But the fact that at&t promised these phones on the 24th and only 1/2 of us get them. or i get only 1/2 of my order is poor customer service.. I dont know who you work for or what you do. but you need to go back to school for a while
 
I give up, I'm not calling AT&T anymore. I'm tired of being disappointed.

I ordered on the 15th at noon EST. My number is getting ported from Verizon so I had one of those "Attention" e-mails on 6/18. Called them and the agent had to manually configure my order since I'm in NYC and my number was from Boston.

My "Attention" status went to "In processing" on 6/21 and my credit card didn't get charged until 6/22.

I've called a bunch of times and got the "Your order has been processed and will be shipped from our warehouse shortly".

At this point, I'd rather they just tell me my phone is being delayed then give me the ole runaround that it'll be here any day now.

Uh, UPS is one of the few companies you can actually run down to the closest hub by your area and pick up the package if they missed you during delivery. They ARE set up for pick-ups...

yeah, when i asked ups to let me pick it up.. they said: the sender (at&t) has issued a delivery/signature only ticket. it can only be delivered to the address with a signature or the package can be returned to the sender. to change this and let me pick it up. the shipping status would need to be changed by the sender (at&t). ups told me to call at&t and get them to change the shipping restrictions. LMFAO.. yeah right. AT&T customer no-service will get this done?.. Please....

I'll just sit and wait, bitch and complain like everyone else. lol

The ability to post here has been more a cathartic process than anything else. I'm in the group of you that ordered a 32 GB on the 15th, had to clear up a bogus credit card issue and see my "Date Ordered" go to the 17th.

Status has been 100 "In Progress" since then with no insight from the AT&T folks. I did manage to convince a supervisor to throw me a bone of $60 off of my current AT&T bill yesterday for "my trouble". I've not taken my frustration out on the employees, though, since I know this is not their fault.

At this point, I've given up watching the pot boil and will just wait it out. Life's too short!
 
I'm thinking of keeping my order and going to AT&T store on the 29th to purchase a phone. Then I can sell the "Lost" iPhone to my brother-in-law. Or will AT&T prevent this?
 
Apple has begun shipping phones to the 2nd round of their customers who pre-ordered. I only hope this means that AT&T will be getting phones soon for those of us still waiting.
 
Update for those still "In Progress"

I have order beginning with 5051 for a black 32gb. I like most of you had an ATTN e-mail to update my credit card. This took my original order from 6/15 to 6/17.

I called AT&T again this morning. After waiting for 45 minutes on hold, an AT&T customer service rep at the 1-866-391-0749 number, informed me of the latest gossip he has heard, orders that did not ship the 24th will be in hand the 28th. I know I shouldn't put any faith in this info. The possibility that it could even be here Monday is slim to none. I still don't even have tracking info. However, the customer service rep told me that as far as he can tell my order is not back ordered and they have an iPhone allotted for me. I don't know how that fits into the rumors that a shipment just arrived. He repeated the same propaganda, the order is in the warehouse and that I should keep checking my e-mail and the website for update and tracking info.

Any way that was as of 10 am EST, the 25th, or iPhone 4 launch day plus 1. I pass this along to the rest of you in the "5051" boat.

Does anyone know where this warehouse is? Maybe someone out there can physically confirm some of this bs?

Same here! I ordered early in the morning of the 15th and what now seems as normal for AT&T I got the bogus email. Funny thing was that when I called in they re-ran the same card and it magically went though. Funny huh?!
I just got off the phone w/ AT&T now and I'm being told that AT&T is out of phones and waiting for the next shipment from Apple to go out on the 28th. I asked for some compensation but was pretty much laughed at... Terrible customer service on AT&Ts part!! A simple email that explained the problem would have gone a long way and saved me hours on the phone.... :mad:

That is the same thing they told me yesterday after 1 1/2 hours on the phone with them.

At this point you're probably better off just ordering from Apple.
 
Well, I finally got the most straight up, honest answer since placing about 10 calls to AT&T.

Although my order was placed on the 15th, I did get an "Attention" e-mail which delayed the processing of my order.

He says my order was fully processed but here's the thing, they don't have any more iPhones to ship. It was based on a first come, first serve basis and anyone who ran into trouble or had their order delayed would be effected by the limited number of phones.

They're waiting for another shipment of iPhones before they fullfil orders. He said the latest would be June 29th which he expects another shipment.

I'm bummed but there's not much I can do. At least I have a definitive answer and I'll just have to wait unitl next week. He noted my account and I'll call customer care and see if I can get some type of statement credit for my "troubles".
