**AT&T iPhone 4 Order Status Thread**

Update 2!!!

Well Im glad you made this thread will make it easier for me to narrow this down. I post this in another thread but prob best to be here.

Placed my order with att website got confirmation email at 6/15 4:38am central.

I currently get the:

Status for orders placed in the last 24 hours may not be available.

OS001: We're sorry but the information you entered was not recognized by our systems. Please contact us for further assistance.

Is there anyone who originally had the same order search results like mine above but now the system finds the order?

Also no CC charge yet think Im in trouble here.

Will post an update if anything changes.

Edit add: Im currently with Tmobile's no contract unlimited plan switched to new plan with ATT for this order.

I can now confirm the OS001 error can update to an actual order.

I just looked at the order search page and I now have an order listed. My order is for 2 iphone 4's and doesnt say backordered either. The order did change to 6/16. Also my credit card now has a charge listed.

So good news for those others like my situation Yipeeeeee LOL!!!

OK more great news!!!

I just got another email from ATT Thanking me for placing my order and reconfirming my order is good to go. The email has the same confirmation # as my original email but this one also has my contact phone # called a CTN: as part of the reference.

I can also now check my order 3 ways using the confirmation # and using either phone #'s I am transfering from Tmobile to the new iPhone 4's.

My order still says processing and nothing is on backorder.

I expect my last update will be my order has shipped HEHE...

So I preordered 6/15 at around 7:15 am PST and got a confirmation email around 7:24 am PST as shown below:

I tried to get the order status from regular AT&T site, not the Premier site but here is the result I get:

So what gives?

I cannot tell if it's back ordered or will it ship on June 24.

On 6/15, they preauthorized charge from my bank but now they're gone from my bank transactions and now nothing at all. They're not suppose to charge us anyway till they ship right?

Did you try checking via your wireless number and not your order number?

I think order number doesnt carry over into that ATT site's order page from Premier..

Have the same thing as that on my gf's order.. . I ordered for her on att website june 15th around 3 p.m eastern time. I hope it really comes on the 24th.

WTF what gives AT&T if this back ordered turning to 0 stuff actually means something I'm really starting to get mad because both of my phones are still in back order status as of this post and i ordered about 5 mins into being able to on the 15th with order confirmations and card auth/holds immediately!!!!!!

I am in the same boat as you. Still showing back ordered despite ordering smoothly right when pre-orders opened at 1am pst

It's got to just be some stupid system issue or glitch or maybe it actually has very little to do with who will be receiving their orders on day one. There are a lot of posts like ours who jumped on it early and still are in back order status. It seems to be the ones who ordered later who aren't in back order status any longer. One theory is that the ones who actually have a phone definitely waiting for them have the 1 in the back ordered showing because its obviously not physically there yet but its definitely our individual phone (thats how best buys inventory system works off the top of my head). Maybe the one's whose orders are switching to back order 0 aren't absolutely guaranteed? I don't know... not much makes sense about this whole ordeal anymore... lol

Successfully ordered my iPhone 4 from AT&T at 3am on the 15th and successfully ordered my moms iPhone 4 from Apple at 5pm later that day.......mine better come first or imma take hers LOL......Did anyone order last year from AT&T and got there iPhone early morning on release day? I ordered my 3GS from Apple last year and got it around 10am on release day. Just wondering

Ya, Im sure this is the case. With that being said, if for whatever reason something gets messed up and we dont get the phones prior to those who ordered later..... there will be hell to pay

My order went off backorder about 2 hours after first even showing up in the system last night. I ordered 645EST on 6/15. I don't think it necessarily means anything, though.

When I had called, the operator said my order was 1 day and 10 hours old. My confirmation email was also sent 5 min after the order was placed. But when I look at the order status, it says that the order date is 6/16.

Bottom line - it's probably worthless to try and prognosticate the status of the order based on this website. Until a tracking number shows up, I won't know what to believe.

I ordered mine from the ATT site at 3:45am and got the order confirmation as soon as the order happened. Today I got my email confirmation. I was worried there for a moment……

I ordered mine on June 15 at around 5:20 AM EST, received a confirmation email a minute later and there is a charge on my CC as well. I have been checking my account all day and my order date still says 6/15 on both the regular AT&T site and the Premier where it says that was lat updated on 06/16.

I ordered the iPhone Tuesday at 10:40 am central time, got an email right away. Wasn't able to check the order through online, they couldn't find my order through the phone.

Got another email today,

"Thank you for your order. Your iPhone4 pre-order has been received and is being processed in the order it was received. You do not need to take any action. You will receive an email from us if we need any additional information."

I'm still not able to check my status online though.

I ordered from Premier yesterday at 9AM central. I got the order received email and am able to track my order on the premier order status page. It shows the order as "processing". My question is for those who ordered from premiere.

Can you use the regular AT&T order status page (https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status_results.jsp)
to see your status by entering in your wireless number?

I am not able to but it seems that some premier customers can and some cannot. I'm trying to figure out why this might be. FWIW I'm on a family plan and I'm not the primary line. Think this has any bearing?

I can only track using the Premier Order Status page, not the regular one. I am also on a family plan and I'm not the primary line.

I can only track from the premier site as well. Trying to track through the regular site simply shows my order for the 3gs last year

Yea im hearing some people only getting $1.00 auth charges..

I have the full charge on my account (not visible) but its missing from my account.. and when I called Chase yesterday they said they don't show Authorization charges online and that he could confirm AT&T had a $215+ hold on my account.

the full charge is missing from my available balance as well

Yes, even the wireless number wasn't working but this morning the wireless number finally works, I can see my orders in Progress but now I can see also that it is backordered? I preordered on the 15th at about 7:15 am early so it would seem impossible that I didn't get the first batch right? I hope the backorder will change.

I think everyone needs to settle down about this preorder backorder crap. Quit stressing about this a week before it is set to deliver, they overnight most of this stuff anyway.

YESS!!! AT&T just charged me!!! I've never been this happy about somebody taking money from my bank account! My order status still says backorder so maybe once they verified my payment, it will change? I hope so

Same as you... my premier order went into compass yesterday and shortly after I had a $199 charge pending; though my stuff still says backordered.

I am able to see the status of my order on AT&T's website using my new number. 500 got deducted from the debit card too but the credit hasn't shown any deduction yet, neither have I received any emails from AT&T. The order status shows back-ordered. I had pre-ordered before 12 noon Pacific Time on 15th at the AT&T store. I am confused about the status of my order What does the email from AT&T confirm? I guess the deduction of 199$ surely confirms that it is shipping, right?

About 3 hrs later I got an email from AT&T saying it was their busiest day in history with all my order information and how they are trying to get all orders out by the 24th, but that some may get theirs on the 25-28th.


My tracking shows ordered on 6/15 and has it ISNT on backorder. I have the authorization charge on my Chase Credit Card too for $215 (iphone + tax).

I preordered at 2pm CST.


EDIT: I could track my order literally 1 hr after I put in my order.

I preordered at the store.. got an email as I walked out from AT&T that had the guy that took my preordres name and some tutorial on how to use my device..

The ATT lady was taking down all the orders on paper so she called me up at 9PM on 15th to confirm some details about the card and at 11PM I along with a bunch of people in the To: list got a mail from her explaining that it was a busy day and even though she is submitting the orders now but the priority would be given as per the actual time we had placed our orders.

I donno what to infer from this? If an official email from ATT follows up then I should go and bug her that I haven't received that. Moreover, my credit card is an International credit card but a Mastercard, so I am scared if that might delay the processing

After spending close to 800$ if I don't get the phone on day one, that would be very sad moment

I've wondered the same thing as well. You may be on to something especially if Best Buy system works the same.

I got back to my office.. my order status showed it as backordered but it was displaying on the Order Status screen (1 hr after my order at 2pm CST). It no longer shows backordered though.



I then got this e-mail at 7pm on the 15th from AT&T.

FYI - I preordered in a store at 2:00pm CST.. and it is set to deliver to my home. My Order Status is the same as the one I have in the OP w/ no back order and a 6/15 date still
