**AT&T iPhone 4 Order Status Thread**

Alright guys, I think we should just breathe for a second.

I just literally got off the phone with AT&T. Now I have business out of town on July 3rd, so I was worried about my phone being left at my doorstep when I'm gone (since I went ahead and thought I would get it July 2nd or after).

So after talking to the CSR, she said she had no idea what I was speaking of saying the shipping date on my order was pushed to July 2nd. She said she had no knowledge whatsoever and even contacted her supervisor for such information. She had told me that it would still arrive June 24th and I had nothing to be worried about.

Also I'm one of the people that have the 'back order' status that is filled with "1" instead of "0". When I asked her about that, she said that my order in no way was back ordered. She said everything was fine and that the ship date she had was June 24th and I should worry about nothing.

So all this 'ship date' could be rumors. I mean, wouldn't there be a bit more press if Apple/AT&T made the choice to delay record-breaking pre-orders?

I ordered mine with the pen and paper method around 12pm EST. Although i haven't recieved a confirmation email from AT&T it does show ordered and processing. I also decided to have it shipped to store since Fed-Ex sucks in my area. I havent checked to see if the charge was taken but I feel confident that it should be at the store on the 24th. I will be following closely of course

Ps: my order number starts with a X followed by 5 numbers then letters

Dude, your status is replica of mine Mine too shows order number starting with 'X' and I didn't get an email from AT&T either. But mine shows back-ordered too even though the order date is 15th.

Delivery to store won't arrive until the 25th. AT&T was very adamant about deliveries to stores not arriving until the 25th if you preordered. They want to keep the 24th as less busy as possibly with preorder deliveries they said.

YESS!!! AT&T just charged me!!! I've never been this happy about somebody taking money from my bank account! My order status still says backorder so maybe once they verified my payment, it will change? I hope so

Same here... I placed the order 6/15 around 1pm CST, however I didn't actually know it went through until I received the confirmation email from ATT this morning (much to my surprise, as my checkout timed out due to some 'gateway error' on ATT's site).

Order shows up as being placed on 6/16, but there's no backorder so I'm assuming it will arrive on 6/24.

we'll see... I reserved a pickup at my apple store, so if this thing doesn't come in on time I will be ticked.

Contacted the ATT customer service and found out that my email address was entered wrongly into the database and that is why I didn't get an official email

The guy told me that mine is in the first lot and should be available on 24th for the pick-up

well i havent called but am hoping for same outcome will start to worry as it draws closer to the 24th!!

Here's my story. Pre-ordered on the 15th at 7:00 AM (EST). Apple's website wasn't working, but got right though on AT&T's end. Order was placed, recieved a confirmation number immediately, but no e-mail, until the 16th at 9:00 p.m. On the 15th, at 5:30 checked the status, it finally showed up on AT&T's site, but showed backordered, about half an hour later it switched over to 1 ordered and 0 on backorder. Preauthorization hold was on my debit card, and was there until this morning. Contacted AT&T this morning to ask if I was in the first pre-order cue, and according to them I was. So hopefully, I'll be recieving the phone on the 24th. I just sold my iphone 3g the day the new phone was announced. Just wanted to be able to get a decent resell value, and I wanted to be able to put the money towards the new phone. Guess what I'm stuck with until I get the new iPhone?! A nokia 2160 lol. Horrible phone, no camera, texting is ridiculous. It's barely got a color screen on it. It's killing me!!! Good luck to all

I ordered on AT&T Premier at 5.50am PST Tuesday, got the confirmation e-mail right away, saw the on-linear order status as "1 back-ordered" later that day, and also a hold for the full payment on my debit card.

Wednesday, the on-line order status changed to "1 ordered, 1 back-ordered".

Today, the hold has vanished from my debit card, although the order status is unchanged, and I haven't had any more e-mails (good or bad).

So either they'll charge me properly nearer the time, or I'm getting the phone for free, or I'm not getting it at all!

Roll on next week!

Yeah the hold is placed immediately when you place your order to verify you have the funds, then the hold drops and a real charge will appear shortly after.

As of today 6/18/10 my status is:

I preordered thru AT&T on 6/15/10 and I have Bank of America checking:

on 6/15 - Preordered smoothly at 7:15 AM PST, got an email confirmation 5 minutes later and order status thru Premier site shows received and processing. Order status not available on regular AT&T site. Preauthorization shows up but just $1 charge and another $0 charge

on 6/16 - Preauthorization gone and nothing else. Order status the same on Premier site but status not available on regular AT&T site.

on 6/17 - Pending charge for the iPhone shows up! Order status remains the same on Premier site and order status on regular AT&T site now available and showing in progress but also showing backordered. I also got to check the status thru automated phone and it says "your order has been processed and will ship shortly"

on 6/18 - Still showing pending charge (usually pending charge on my bank only takes one day) I'm worried but we'll see. Order status for all type remains the same.

So that's that, hopefully everything will go as planned to be ship on June 24, if not, I got a backup plan, I reserved an iPhone to be picked on the Apple store. Wish me luck!

thanks. that makes me feel better. what time did you order your phone? i ordered mine around 1:30 (one for me slightly before and the one for my wife slightly after). My order results never said "backordered" so I'm wondering what time your initial order was placed?????

OOPS. FORGOT TO HIT THE QUOTE BUTTON. SO THIS IS FOR ANYONE.... WHAT TIME DID YOU ORDER YOUR PHONE (IF YOU ORDERED THROUGH AT&T RETAIL STORE) AND DOES YOUR STATUS SAY BACKORDERED OR ORDERED??? Also, my confirmation emails said phones will be delivered "on or after" June 24th. Did anyone get an email that said "on" June 24th? Or does anyone else's show a different date entirely!? Thanks.

More updates on my order. I got an email last night from AT&T, just like the one others have mentioned about heavy volume of traffic on day one, blah blah. My status has got back-ordered "0" now

But I can't see any transaction on my credit card yet! My order number is in 3 digits

Everthing still appears t be on track for me, but my charged dropped off as well. I was a bit worried but I see it's happened to others... i guess that's their process... still worried!

Don't worry about the site. Seriously. Don't. It is back-ordered because for all we know these phones are in China still. People need to settle down and breathe a little, it is still a long time before the 24th.

My AT&T store manager told me that pickups will be on the 24th in store.....

I would hope the manager of the store would know this.

(I just happed to get the manager as the person whom was the one who took my order)
