People ordered at 3 and have shipping info before some of us early morning people? LOL what are a horrible system :confused:

Does anyone know the number where they were able to successfully cancel this order? I have heard the regular number will just tell you they cannot cancel the order. Let me know if you know it.

I am getting prepped to make the call this evening. I would rather just pick it up at Apple on Thursday, at least I know 100% I will get it that day.

I sure wouldn't count on that. My local AT&T store told me that they were getting less than 100 for sale on launch day and that was BEFORE they were overwhelmed with pre-sales.

Anyone who counts on picking up a phone at retail out of open inventory had better plan on camping out. Starting about now.

I ordered at 4:30 pm PST, and the woman who was helping me said that my order was the first one that she had been able to successfully process through the system that day--all the others had been done with pen and paper. I don't know exactly how and when the manual orders were processed, but my order was done electronically and I got my tracking number early this morning.

(Order number starts with 359.)
 
I think I might call the local fedex hub and offer $50 to the driver to come here first... Delivering to a rural area in the mountains of NC, so that might work!

or maybe I should offer moonshine.... ;)

Ordered 32GB Black on the 15th @ about 12:10pm CST online for shipping to my house.

Got the email 3 minutes later that states this:

Thank you for your purchase from the AT&T Premier Online Store. We're pleased with your choice of AT&T as your wireless service provider.

Pre-orders will be fulfilled beginning June 24, 2010. Orders will ship on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you by email when your order ships. Your order may be subject to AT&T eligibility and credit requirements. If we have any questions about your eligibility or your order, we will contact you via email.


Premier site says "Processing" and ordered on the 15th.
Account order status says "backordered" for shipping, SIM and phone and ordered on the 16th. Order number is: 6166-21XXXXXXXX


Called Premier order status line, waited on hold for 17min.
Spoke with "Amanda".
She told me that her screen shows my phone is "activated" to my name and I will should receive my phone on the 24th. When I asked her how confident she was in that statement, she told me pretty confident. I told her what the site says and she told me that it "should" update sometime today reflecting what she says.

I flirted with her for a little bit and made her laugh a few times to get her to look further into my status and maybe that's why she went the extra mile to find out where exactly my order was. *shrugs*, dunno. By the way, Amanda is from Pennsylvania, likes long walks on the beach and enjoys thunderstorms...

- I ordered at 8:15am PST on the 15th.
- Upgrading 3 lines - 2 x 16g , 1x 32g

- I have still received no confirmation email
- No charge ever on my Amex.
- My order number starts with 5051.

Everything still shows as "In progress"

Anyone in a similar situation?

Also, why does it show Sim's in the order if I am upgrading lines, is this normal?

apple just emailed to remind me to pick up the iphone reservation on the 24th, yet my att page is still "in progress...", i even got the # transfer complete last week, so i cant even transfer my number at apple store now

You need to refresh the "check for updates" in itunes a few times until you get that window!
 
My boat, my boat! I ordered at basically the same time and my order begins with 6808 also.

I can't cross my fingers and harder.

Cripes....I ordered an hour before you.....I've got an order number of 6600xxxxxx and I'm still backordered with no shipping. This is really getting annoying......
 
so i just talked with an AT&T cs guy and he had no clue of why my order didnt go thru until the 16th and all he knew is that they were trying to get shipping info on orders as fast as they could

I suspect that rep doesnt know what he is talking about. Orders on 15th show up as 16th in order status section.
 
My order has been saying in progress and I ordered on the 15th 9am pst and it says I ordered it on the 17th I don't have backorder. Still waiting on the tracking number. Any tips if mine is going through?
 
Ordered mine in person at the AT&T store in the mall here on 6/15 @ 9 PM ET - still no updates on the order status page. Never did it say "back ordered", just showing "In Progress".
Initial pre-charge hit and my bank released the funds back into the account 2 days later. 2nd hit is showing in "Pending" on my bank account site...hopefully once payment clears, the phone will ship out.

In all fairness, the rep at the store said that because we came in later in the day, we would not have our phones until Friday and they couldn't guarantee the time to have them delivered to home so we opted for store pick-up. The confirmation from AT&T on the order came in at like 2:15 AM on the 16th, but they showed the order date as 6/15. That email said between 25th-28th for delivery...so I won't have it on day one but am anxious to see it move along in the process and be shipped.
 
I was one of those who got their order cancelled by AT&T. What happened in my case was I had a hold on my Credit Card for two phones and then when they went to ship them they recharged my Credit Card for another 2 iphones and since my limit is not that high, I couldn't afford 4 iphones, so they cancelled my order.

Apparently they have a list at the AT&T store that I purchased from and there is supposed to be another pre-order sale to happen for those people who got mistakenly cancelled. I am to get a call tonight as to what the final decision is for people on the cancelled list. Of course I will believe it when I hear it. Obviously I have to be proactive to get any kind of explanation from them, but I really don't think they will call.
