AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

I got my TC email last night and then got my order confirmation email about an hour later. There is a different order number in the second email (not a new order number, just a different type of tracking number, only 7 digits instead of 14), and this number works on the att order status page. Mine says in process and pending shipment, but all items have a 1 in the backordered column. However, the order date online says 10/10 instead of 10/7 and the email said it would be 21-28 days. Hoping I didn't get screwed...
 
my pending charge on my card is now gone as well. there is no charge in site.

awe man, sorry to hear :(

in my email, i did not even get a shipping estimation, nor can i check online. i think i will get that email later on in the day.

i hope att didnt screw this up..
 
I spoke with a Premier rep yesterday, and she said that if you placed your order before 4:30 eastern, you will get your phone on or around the 14th. I hope she's right, my order still says 1 in the "back ordered" column (though the order says "pending shipment"), and my email said "14-21 days."

Key words being "Friday Afternoon"...If you missed that 1st run cut-off (which it looks like you did) your order probably got grouped in with the second, backordered batch and wasn't entered or processed until Sunday. I wouldn't worry too much though. Once you passed that cut-off, it doesn't matter if you ordered late Friday or Sunday. Your still gonna be included in the second batch. And I'd bet you'll have your phone by mid-end of next week.

I ordered at 2am pacific on Friday night from AT&T premier, but still have only received 1 email regarding my order and my card has not even an authorization on it. Really hoping I wasn't forgotten. Gonna be calling AT&T this afternoon.

is just a check to see if you have the funds. It will disappear.

You will actually be charged when phone ships.

Same deal as the other guy. You ordered after the initial, 1st run cutoff (whenever that was). I'm sure at&t was overwhelmed with orders and they were processing them as fast as they could. After the 1st run was cut off, they most likely worked on all the early pre-orders first to make sure they were all set for this Friday delivery. Then after that they went back and started entering and processing the orders after the cutoff. So even though you ordered late Friday, they prob. didn't get it actually in until Sunday. So at this point I wouldn't worry about when it was put in. You will still get your phone as soon as that second batch goes out. And I bet you'll have your phone by the end of next week.
 
Do they fill by order number or order date? My order number was generated at 4am CST on Friday but because I had to go through ID verification my order date now says 10/8. Not sure which will be used. I don't really care if I am in the first batch or second batch I would just like to know. Any thoughts?

If you had to go through any sort of verification, they didn't place your order until it was complete. I had "Attention!" put on my 5:30am order, but I stayed up and called CS immediately once they opened and had it resolved before the cutoff time.
 
I think a big issue here is the delay in orders moving from Premier to the regular AT&T fulfillment. For example, I ordered on Friday at 7am, but didn't show up on the AT&T.com order status until yesterday, and it shows the 10th for the order date. So I am backordered.

But I really do think AT&T will ship those phones by Friday, regardless of what the order date says on the AT&T.com status page. Same thing happened with the iPhone 4. Everyone thought Premier customers got screwed. Freaking out ensued for page after page in the forums. But late Thursday night everyone was given a tracking number and all had phones on Friday.

Ok thanks. I didn't get the notice until Friday night and they said I had to go in with 2 forms of ID when I called. Kind of crappy I stayed up for no reason but at least I know I have the phone on order :D

Actually, it was many credit card companies were flagging the purchases as fraudulent, so people had to call and use debit cards instead.
