My friend you are almost the same situation as i do except that i've order it through Local AT&T Store and during afternoon and tracking say ordered on 10/7/2011 and also email say 14-21 days. it's still on back ordered.

with your info i think my phone is getting close. But unfortunately my phone still has back ordered status and pending shipment etc etc whatever.. lol~ Wish me luck man

Same here. Ordered from the store on Friday AM (Central), and got the same 12-21 day email. Still showing backordered, but not worried. I am sure the status will change sometime today like it has for everyone else.

I know I am a newb here but I read frequently. I ordered a 16GB Black 4S on Saturday 10/8 at 9:15AM and received a tracking number. Shows it shipped on 10/10! When I try to use the tracking number nothing shows up tho.

it looks like ATT has no management of orders and how to process them in the order they were received.

some people who order in afternoon on Oct 7, they have tracking number now. (Reading post in this same post.)
And some people like US, who ordered early in morning have nothing yet.

ATT Phone reps, Chat Rep and Premier rep are USELESS. they have no idea what is going on....

Still on backorder

I am bummed. I ordered at about 3am CST 10/7 a 64G Black 4S. Got immediate confirmation but then later in day got a notice that there was a problem with the CC. Chase would not let them keep the hold on it until I called them and verified for anti theft security. So I got all of that fixed around 3pm CST on 10/7. Anyhow still shows backordered :mad:
 
This site has never worked for me (Premier). I assume it's only working for non-Premier folks, or do you have to sit there and spam the site until it works?

I am a Premier user and that's the only site I can check status from (from Premier is does not work). Go figure.

Make sure you use the wireless number of the device you are checking, you should be able to look it up.

I have a Premier account and I just logged into the regular ATT website to track my orders. I have tracking numbers but they are with UPS. UPS doesn't deliver to my house until 6:30pm typically. :-( I was hoping for Fed Ex.
 
For all I know, mine's backordered and not at the warehouse anyways! I guess you could return it unopened, but I ordered the right one...I just have no idea when I'll get it. :rolleyes:

I spoke with reps before the pre-sale and they said a newly assigned restocking fee would apply (cant remember amount) for iPhone 4S complete returns (even within 30 days) and not for exchanges. This did not apply to me so I did not pay that much attention.
 
really starting to regret pre-ordering from ATT as it looks like I'm not getting my phone any time soon. Wish I was able to pre-order from apple. Think I might try canceling and waiting in line on Friday, I can't wait a month for a new phone.
 
Guys, this does not mean shipped. It means it got a shipping label w/ a tracking number. Notice the shipped column shows 0.

But they will ship soon.

What it means to me is that they were shipped when it says they were and there is a hold on the status until they are officially released. Apple always arranges this some how so everyone gets their phones on the release date. At least that is what I have seen in the past with my orders.

Just hope maybe this info helps someone who was in a similar situation that may be pacing the floor!!!

I got my ATT order confirmation (16GB white 4S, NOT premiere) at 4:34AM, 10/07. However, at 7:31AM I received an email that my order needed further attention. I called immediately and apparently my credit card was rejected because an early payment had not posted yet. Unfortunately the payment would not post until midnight on the 8th, so I had to wait until Saturday at 8:00am ET to call ATT back to get the payment info updated. Later they put the full amt on hold where it has been ever since and my order seemed to be getting processed but I was still dubious I'd get it on Friday because of the delay in getting my payment info updated.

I called the automated number someone so kindly posted here and it said my order was in the warehouse awaiting shipment! I thought it must be some kind of fluke but amazingly enough, my order now says SHIPPED with a fedex tracking number! It's not showing up in the system yet and I've not received an email or notification but it looks like it's going to be fine, despite the fact I couldn't process the payment info til Saturday morning and my order date says 10/08! (On the order page there is still the old order on the 7th that didn't get processed due to the payment problem but I didn't include that for the sake of image size.)

Hope anyone else in a similar position sees this and can feel better there is still a good shot they'll see their phone this week!

I have lost hope. I ordered mine by walking into the local AT&T at 10:30am EST on 10/7/11. I received all my confirmation orders very fast, including the 14-21 day shipping one. My order on the order status page originally showed date ordered as 10/7/11, but it has now changed to 10/8/11. I should have expected this from AT&T. If they can fulfill all preorders, make the customer believe they are the ones to blame. Typical AT&T. My phones are still in the backordered column. This will have to change and a tracking number will have to appear sometime in the next 24 hours for me to keep my scant sliver of hope.

I remember last year this being a poorly run show by AT&T, but I think it is worse this year. I may have to change my sig.
 
Ordered 12.49AM PST Oct7th - delivery Oct 25th-Nov1st

Ordered at 12.49 AM PST Oct 7th on apple.com (got email saying reserved)
Got email at 1.09 AM PST Oct 7th saying "please complete order by Sat Oct 9th by 5pm to maintain priority).
Order completed (after clearing up ATT shipping address issue) at around 11am Oct 7th
Email confirmation received at 2.13PM Oct 7th stating delivery on Oct 17th (Monday)
Email received just now Oct 12th 5.28am saying it now ships in 1-2 weeks with expected delivery Oct 25th - Nov 1st.

So... did anyone who got the "we reserved your phone" email right at launch get quick delivery?
 
Mine too... Don't understand. I ordered at 5:00am EST on the 7th.

im hoping that sometimes tonight, ours will go from backordered: 1 to 0, and then we will get shipping info tomorrow, and receive ours on launch.

everyone else that received their shipping maybe will get theirs the day before launch, or the day of like us. HOPEFULLY. :(
 
Last year, I didn't get any shipping info at all until the day before launch. Launch day, my phone arrived.

Don't panic.

Why are u still confused?...You ordered AFTER 5PM. Your status is EXACTLY correct. Out of all the rediculous information that's been given out by At&t CSR's, the only statement that has remained consistant was "if you ordered BEFORE 5pm on Friday 10/7, you should get your phone on Friday. And If you ordered AFTER 5pm, you simply go into backordered Hell".

It really sucks, I know. You were Sooo close. A lesson learned for next years release.
