I ordered the SG64 through at&t on Nov 6. Got an email that my order is in progress with a ship date Nov 28 - Dec 5. Status never changed until a friend told me best is to check Apple in store supply first thing AM. I did that today and found one available. I chose the at&t next every year plan process until the point where apple verifies eligibility with att. I cancelled my att order and wait for the 2 min email confirmation then finished the order process on the apple store website. Store was closed so my appointment was set 12-1230. Now I have it but still waiting on my case to arrive. hope this helps

Did you have to cancel the AT&T order first before doing the one on Apple's site?

You only need to do it in that order if you’re upgrading an old phone on ATT’s Every Year upgrade plan. If you don’t cancel with ATT first you’ll have to order the phone with Apple on a new number.

If you’re not doing any sort of upgrade then order from Apple now. No problem.

Just posting a follow up. ATT order from ATT. Ordered on the 11th of this month, just received an e-mail that is shipped. 64GB Silver. Not bad! Hoping it makes it here next week; shipped via UPS.

Just quoting myself for another follow up. UPS notice received that delivery is scheduled for this Friday, the 24th! Ordered direct from ATT store on the 11th, and receiving the 24th. I'm happy. 13 days from order to delivery! (Here's hoping it shows up Wednesday but that's probably pushing it, lol).

20 days for me

So, is there any point in checking the AT&T order status page throughout the day, or is updated overnight and that's that?

Ordered a Silver 256 on 11/1 with delivery 11/30 to 12/7, so I expect that it could be about time from some status changes

It can update randomly during the day. I had an order update to “shipped” at around 4pm

Just wondering with all the moment of the SG 256 model and a lot of orders being received have any Premier customers who ordered on preorder day or later received theirs yet??

Getting kind of frustrated and feeling kind of forgotten by AT&T.

I ordered the SG256 model on 11/3/2017 around 8:00am, with an original shipping date of 12/11 - 12/26.. Then the next day, it updated to a ship date of 12/11 - 12/18...

No movement since then...

Same here, AT&T Premier order on 11/3 for SG256. Also sitting on a 12/11-12/18 ship date, still "In Progress". AT&T blames Apple for lack of inventory, says they are shipped as soon as they have them. It seems that a few on this thread have gotten their SG256 even with later order dates so they are shipping albeit not in any particular order.

If I wasn't locked into Premier for a corp discount, I would probably cancel and go to Apple. Apple stores near me had several 256 Silver in stock over the weekend. The Silvers have much better availability. I haven't seen a lot of SG/256 on AT&T available via Istocknow.

I ordered 10/27 at 6am with an estimated ship date window of 12/1-12/15. SG 256. Yesterday late or early this morning status moved to "Preparing for shipment." Hopefully, others like me will see movement soon, although I have no idea how long before it actually ships of course. But this is at least a positive change. For what it's worth, one rep agreed with me that there could be a geographic component to the order of shipping. Bigger cities may get their phones first. But who knows. Best of luck to all!

What time zone was this 6am iPhone X order, if you don't mind me asking?
I ordered at 8:18AM Eastern time for the SG 256 as well and am still sitting at 'in progress'. Happy to see your status change. I am hoping mine does soon as well.

To add to the fire of geography possibly playing some sort of factor. I also live as far northeast as possible, MAINE so obviously there are no big cities here... but again idk if this is factor is true.

Hate to rain on your parade, but the "Preparing to Ship" status is not a very good gauge. We have been at that stage on and off for several weeks. In fact, if you refresh the page with that status, it may say flip to "Processing Order".

Sorry. Should have specified. Timezone is ET. I live in Roanoke, VA. Not tiny but certainly not Metropolis. I suspected the city size could be a factor before I even asked. For one thing, there is likely a cost component by sending as many as possible to one location. By the time mine gets shipped, they may have more to send. However, I also suspect they may want to put as many in the hands of people in major markets to create more interest when "see in the wild" as it were. Not sure we will ever know all the factors involved for sure.

I don't think location has much impact. Shipping logistics these days are not as geographically bound. A package sent by overnight carriers next door may still go through Memphis or a central hub. I suspect that selling price may be a factor (grandfathered deal$ seem to be extra slowwwwww), as well as general AT&T computer glitches that were tested during the massive ordering. I am afraid there may not be a logical answer to the illogical delivery timeframes experiences and may be software issues, chance and bad luck.

I realize it's not the absolute best status. It's not my first rodeo. However, I have refreshed and reloaded. Status the same. I prefer to be an optimist and see it as a positive move...even though there is no way to know how long before I get it. At least it's something.

Okay. Called Customer Service phone. Even though online says preparing to ship, the auto status phone line said it's shipped and gave me a FedEx tracking number indicating it's arriving this Wednesday. Going to try and get a live rep now. Fingers crossed!

I ordered a SILVER 256GB through Premier so that I could get the subsidized $699 price, so the approval / order didn’t go through until 10/28 at 12:30pm. Expected delivery remains 11/29-12/6 and has been in progress since day 1 with no changes to the dates. Premier sucks.

Just changed from In Process to "Preparing to Ship" online and "back ordered" at *ORDR#.. Tried to chat with someone on att.com and they obviously didn't know a thing. Was just hoping I might get lucky and get a tracking number from them like NeoStrom. No luck.

Order 11/9 SG64

where is your phone shipping to?

I’m so done with AT&T. I’ll just wait for my expected shipment date of 12/4/17 - 12/11/17
and try to forget about the order until then.
Lesson is simply learned, never preorder from AT&T again.

Their preordering process is contradictory & their reps are feckless when it comes to these matters.
I preordered the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014 directly through Apple. That shipment was backordered 9-12 weeks but I received it 2 ½ weeks later.

The only reason I got stuck with Pre-ordering through AT&T this time around was because i was unaware that as a prepaid customer, I could not place an online order so on preordering night i kept being met with a “Your existing rate plan isn’t an eligible iPhone plan” message every time I tried to submit my preorder
which forced me to go into an AT&T retailer later on that day & have a sales person process the order. By then orders were pushed back 5-6 weeks.

I will know better the next time around.

256gb silver original with 8 to 15 shipping dates now changed to dec1 - 8 i placed the order on nov 16

As time as gone on, Apple is taking more and more of the stock for pre-orders and carriers are left with little. Plus, carriers are not real great at these large pre-orders with managing logistics and supply chain. Apple is better at that. Unless you have to go with AT&T for things like corporate discounts, go to Apple next time. You will get it sooner.

Just went in the store and ordered mines today. It said dec 12-18 the. A few mins ago it got updated to November 28-Dec 5th. I ordered a 64 gb

Ordered SG 256GB on 10/27 at 9:21am ET. Premier order with estimated ship dates of 12-4 to 12-18. It has been sitting at Preparing to ship since the beginning. I don't ever think I am going to get my phone,
