I'm a Premier customer. Ordered a Silver 256 on 11/4. It's been "in progress" up until today when it changed to "preparing to ship".
 
I ordered my SG 256 on 10/27/2017 at 6:53:29 am ET. I was given an expected delivery date of 12/1/17 - 12/15/17. Almost a month has gone by and nothing has changed. At first, the time didn't bother me much. I figured it would give me time to decide on whether or not to keep the X or cancel my order and get an 8+. I'm tired of waiting. I want it now!

Hopefully all of us in the following group that ordered the same way as I did get an updated progress.

-Thrugh ATT Business Premier
-Pre-Ordered on the first day, 10/27 (i ordered at 8:18am eastern time)
-256GB and Space Grey
-Given an Estimated Ship Date of December 4th - 18th


I would expect these orders should see some movement soon as Nov. 27th would be one week before the given Dec. 4th. Of course this is my own speculation... but 1 week prior to the given ship date seems more than reasonable after reading many of the posts on this thread.

Please, anyone that is in the similar situation as I above, seeming to be many of us, provide an update on this thread when your order changes! I would appreciate it :) I was hoping to have this thing by TURKEY DAY.... grrrrrrrrr, lol
 
ordered nov 16 shipping dates changed to dec1-8 now after seeing apple changed chipping to 1-2 weeks mine is preparing for shipping , i ordered at att.com 256gb silver

Please specify your model - without that info, judging the order cueing is tougher.
 
Any of you that pre-ordered and still have mid December dates, I’d suggest calling AT&T again and push for resolution on their order system problem. It’s clear given the updated delivery dates from Apple that these orders are stuck in some screwed up limbo of a system.

I did today call today - Premier support. Basically they said, sorry but that they were expecting a large shipment after thanksgiving and maybe I would hear something. Not holding my breath.....

That is such complete crap. They’re pulling the classic “it’s our suppliers fault”, when it’s clear that their system is causing early orders to stall, while those placed after or even as recently as this week appear to be getting filled first.

I would recommend pushing the CSR to raise your concern to the next level and try to talk to a manager or customer retention manager to see what they can do to help get some of these stuck orders freed up.
 
UPDATE: I just received an email from ATTOrderStatus@ordertrack.wireless.att-mail.com with an update that reads...

“Great news, your order is on the way! Check out the order summary below for tracking details and information to help you start enjoying your purchase when it arrives”.

The tracking is showing delivery via FedEx (I chose that option at order) by this Friday the 24th.

I originally ordered 10/27/2017 at 2:32:04 p.pm ET via the ATT Business Premiere site via phone with a business representative as my account was not allowing me to place the order via Apple directly, due to having a business account. The 256G S was originally set for delivery estimate of 12/4 to 12/11 and never received an update checking daily via the email confirmation that linked to the order status page.

The order status page would constantly show the “Preparing to Ship” status from day one, although it was never really preparing. When entering the PO or order number manually, it would show an entirely different status such as “In Progress” or today it was showing “Backordered”. So to everyone that is continuously checking the order status, dont fret with the actual status, as it appears to be erroneous even to the effect of updates or contacting support for updates.

PS, I also ordered a SG 64G just yesterday 11/21 and with ship estimates being the last week of November. Which would have been before my 256 S ordered 10/27. If not for the sudden change to shipment today, I would have received it after the 2nd order made weeks later.

A 64 gig black iPhone X on ATT showed as in-stock for in-store pickup at the apple store at my local mall. So, I ordered it. They let me specify the pickup time: 3p-3:30pm today. I got there at that time and found my web order had not been transmitted to the store. After 90 minutes, I pressed the manager to investigate and was told there are no phones. A few hours I got an email saying my ordered was cancelled.

I'm so annoyed I'd like to just order it and don't want to do it from apple.

So, what's better: buying from ATT or apple?

BTW, here's the email I got from apple:

We are unable to process your order as it exceeds the quantity limits per customer. As a result, we've cancelled your order and you will not be charged. We apologize for any inconvenience.

My 256 Silver shipped via Fed Ex yesterday. Delivery is Monday. Ordered 11/4 (Premier Customer). My original estimate was 12/4-12/11.
 
Wow...it’s getting to the point where I’d be better off cancelling and reordering. :rolleyes:

One could probably order one today given these new 1-2 week ship times and have it sooner than AT&T will ship to us even after waiting 3-4 weeks. If it wasn't for the grandfathered pricing I would have done it!
 
Every Apple store on Long Island and NYC has the SG 256 available for pickup today FYI

Of course I have no way to get one as my NEXT plan is locked into my pre-order.

Anyone in NY who wants one can just walk in and get them now.


I am officially frustrated. Pre-Order is obviously no longer the way to go.
 
Well update is AT&T canceled my order and made my eligibility available immediately so I could order right now and pick up today. I had to go into chat with them to get it done.

They were really helpful and I almost feel bad as it appears Apple has throttled the carriers deliveries so they can sell more direct phone and sidestep the % they pay them.

Going to get my phone in an hour... woot woot

Interesting. AT&T chat keeps telling me a min of 24 hours to free up my line.
