Interesting. AT&T chat keeps telling me a min of 24 hours to free up my line.
In chat i told them it is crazy you have ZERO and Apple shows stock across the eastern seaboard on the US.

I said why am I doing pre-order etc. and he said he could do it so my eligibility was available immediately. I went all the way through the Apple order process till it got to the point where I put in my phone #, and SS # and hit enter right as he said it is confirmed cancelled and I was now eligible.

I hit ENTER and it processed right though without a hitch. So I know for a fact they can do it... cause it just happened lol
 
Just as we suspected, almost every Apple store has stock - even of the 256/SG. Either this was Apple locking AT&T out until after BF weekend or AT&T's ineptness. Unless you are locked in to Premier like I am, I would definitely advise anyone still waiting to cancel and get to a Apple store. Someone else even said Best Buy was fully stocked!

Ordered 3 phones on 11/17-

64GB Black 8- Shipped 11/18 received 11/20
256GB Silver X- Given an estimated 12/11-12/18, shipped on 11/24 will be here 11/27
64GB Black X - Estimated ship date of 12/11 - 12/18, no change
 
they shipping my phone with fedex standard overnight why i have to wait til monday and not tomorrow smh

That is the official response but if you bother to call and get a live person, they can reset it in less then 2 minutes total time! Please stop wasting time on chat and start dialing 800-331-0500.

Ok thanks for the info. I despise talking to reps, but I’ll give it a shot. I don’t mind waiting, but this is ridiculous.
 
Just coming back to let those reading know that AT&T did reset me correctly so I could purchase today without any issue at all from my local apple store.

In and out without a hitch. As always Apple could not have been nicer.

AND... My AT&T chat rep was very nice, very patient and knew the answers to every question I had as well as canceling and unlinking my pre-order immediately.

Frustrating as pre-order was both companies had the right people working today.

overnight shipping for some reason has a monday delivery but it arrived at miami today 6am pretty sure they had to deliver today
 
Well even on small business Saturday there is still stock of 256GB SG phones available in pretty much every apple store on the east coast. So hopefully everyone who wants one now has it with the exception of those who ordered via premier 4 weeks ago.

Maybe ATT will get to us next week?

Hopefully the excuses can stop. Every rep you talk to has the same excuse "Apple hasn't given us any stock". Best buy has them I've seen in some stores. This whole pre-order has been a fiasco on AT&T. It's too bad Apple doesn't run their own mobile network and we wouldnt need the carriers anymore! If it had been up to Jobs, he would have done it.

Yeah this years preorders have been nothing short than a disaster . I hope AT&T has all of their ducks in a row next year for preorders so we all will be quoted a proper ship and delivery date (I’m not holding my breath on that)
 
Sweet, phone will be delivered Monday ...but I’ll have to wait until much later that night to play. Ah man first world problems.

Agreed, this 'preorder' has been an absolute dumpster fire for AT&T. Hence those of us still waiting on this thread for 4 weeks now. Maybe it has been for other carriers too, not sure how VZW, Tmob, or Sprint have been doing but it's clear that Apple wants to have control to get devices in their stores first.

I really feel for the in-store reps and the phone reps who have no answers for customer. They have had to turn away countless customers only to either tell them they can walk down the street to Apple Store or Best Buy and pick up what they need, while they have to peddle phones that few want. Telling someone who walks in/ready to buy they need to wait 3-4 weeks on a 'backorder' isn't going to keep many customers coming into the store.

Not just this year. Last year for Jet Black people, the year before that with Rose Gold. The most popular phone for the last 3 years has had multiple week back orders with ATT (and Apple itself for that matter). The years of all of us getting the new phone we want on launch day are over. The long wait is the new normal, gang.

I finally jumped ship and bought through Apple.com this year only to find they’re having the same trouble over there with X. I finally got mine on Wed 14th, UPS’ estimated date, after being in the 17-24 group from 3:11am on pre order night.

There is no doubt that Apple will favor their own stores over their wholesale customers, but the bigger issue is with AT&T and the fact that their system somehow favored orders placed after the pre-order rush and has been holding or delaying shipment of pre-orders.

Their CSR’s who say it’s Apple’s fault are only doing so because that’s what they’re told to say in order to pass the blame to Apple, a common thing for any company trying to keep their customers happy.

But they really have no explanation for why some customers who ordered after Nov. 3rd have gotten their iPhones with little delay while those who ordered back in October are still waiting. I ordered on November 10th and had my X in exactly 10 days, which goes against their story of Apple not supporting their needs.
 
Agree that it's hard to expect getting a phone on launch day anymore, but we are talking about pre-orders that have been sitting for nearly 4 weeks after launch. Now that other wholesale shops like Best Buy are getting stock there is no reason why AT&T should be sitting on these pre-orders and passing the buck to Apple.

Yep, 256 SG orders on 11/27 at 3:31am on the Premier website. Still "preparing to ship" with a 12/4-12/18 estimate as of this morning (11/27).

Should I even waste my time calling Premier support and asking? Can they even do anything about it? Since it's not even 12/4 yet, I fully expect them to tell me to keep waiting...

I bet they fulfill orders at different times based on what part of the country you live in.
