Once the phone can actually be ordered, you will see the 30 month option using Apple Store, as you can pick it now if test running through an iPhone 8
At&T updated their site. Under the X photo oh the main page it now says “Get up to $300 in credits when you trade in your iPhone 7 Plus, or up to $200 in credits on other select devices”
That’s ********. I can’t believe they aren’t including the X in the BOGO promotion.
I assume your phone has to be owned free and clear of the NEXT plan. I have 140 left on my 6S payments, but 200 in credits might be worth it.
Apple store app for my order already have everything saved as a favorite, just 2 clicks and order is done....

I have been wondering the same thing as ATT has yet to say anything about the X deals from what I'm seeing the $300 is only for the 8 "so far" Credit wise I have not seen anything yet. I have talked to multiple people on the phone that tell me that if you are currently getting the $650 credit from when the 7/7 plus came out then you will still get your renaming balance.

If you upgrade this line in any fashion with a new installment plan, you will cease to receive the credits on that line. You can pay off a current installment and still get the credits, but not start a new installment and receive the old credits.
Even if you set up the apple app with favorites and apple pay, the server still sends a request to the phone carrier so even if it's a few clicks to finish, it may take some time.
I did a mock purchase for an 8 and I did not need a pin? my info was already in the store and after a brief wait for verification, the phone was added to my bag. Is that the final step, just hit pay afterwards?

I am even more confused now. I have paid off to the requirement necessary to trade in, if I use the Apple Store app will I get the 300 dollar credit through ATT or will it get taken off the remaining amount of what I owe on the phone? I plan on keeping the same 24month installment plan.
I am guessing no, I am in the same boat as you, I just paid off my AT&T Next balance on my 7+ (it was about $142) so now I am clear to order again. I am not going to risk losing out on the credits wit ATT on my 7+, so I'll order from them rather then Apple.
FYI $300 is if you already outright own the phone; you arent getting to turn in a 50% paid off phone and then a $300 credit.

Ok makes sense, thats kind of how I thought it would work, but wasn't sure. But I can still use the apple store app for pre-order tonight, correct?
Is the general consensus here that taking a shot via ATT rather than Apple is a better approach to landing on launch day?
The person I quoted was talking about the $650 credits for a BOGO promotion or a $650 credit from last year's iPhone promotion when you traded in a 6 or newer. He's not talking about the $300 this year.
Right, but since I don't own my phone outright (still have like 300) to pay off on it, I won't see any of the 300 in credits for the trade in, but I can still use the Apple store preorder tonight and have no issues?
Yes, you can still use the Apple store to pre-order, you will be required to trade in your current device (in good condition) once you receive your X.
Ok thank you for clarifying that. I heard somewhere else too that I will get a box when I receive the X to ship my current device back in to ATT.
