Carrier AT&T Pre-Order and Dispatch Thread

I’ve only received the “we have your order.” I’m still waiting on that second one. Does the second one give you the option to cancel on the email?

Not in the email but after I got the 2nd email, my order page began showing the option to cancel, where it wasn't before.
 
Just got off with att chat. I wasn’t given an option at checkout to pay anything up front like I wanted to. Rep said that they couldn’t do anything without cancelling the order. So they gave me a back office number to call to see if they can do something for me. So at 8 I have to call them. Otherwise I do have a reservation for 2-3 weeks on the Apple store app. I may go with that if att can’t help me out. Also can’t see anything on my order about what I ordered on att so that kind of sucks too.

I can't remember but I thought you were required with ATT to have a Credit/Debit card on file per their terms?

My taxes are listed on my Bank of America account with the charge originating from Bethlehem, PA. My normal billing charges originate from Dallas, TX.

My card on file was NOT charged... but per their email it will be when the phone ships

Per the email:

* If financed on a Next installment plan, your sales tax is calculated on the entire device price, and not on an individual monthly installment. "Surcharges/Fees" mean things like State and Federal Universal Service Charges, Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge, and other surcharges that are not sales tax, and will appear on your monthly bill. Please visit Additional Charges to view the estimates of wireless surcharges for your area.

** "Total due" amounts will be charged to your debit/credit card when items are shipped. Future installment payments, activation fees, or monthly data plan charges may be affected by this order, but those sums are not being charged now. For details on your monthly bill, log in to att.com/myatt.

I only have bank account on file with them, no credit or debit card. I'm guessing they'll charge that. It's possible that tax payments vary from state to state? I dunno...

I have a 60 pending tax charge.

RE: Sales tax. Chat rep says "It can be added on your bill if there's no payment made for the sales tax when you ordered the device" Rep also says they will get in touch if there's an issue before canceling the order outright.

I'm led to believe this might be a state-by-state issue since some say they were charged tax and at least 1 other person aside from me say they werent.

Probably correct.... Texas here... no pre auth on card

Ok.

I've usually preordered through Apple, and as far as I can remember, they are the ones that wait until shipping to pay taxes with all orders.
 
Wow still surprised, ATT site still shows Nov delivery for all the X's sans the Space Grey 256. I really thought the dates would be pushed out to Dec or Jan by now.

Ordered my phone at 2:01 CT and then started freaking out because the credit card that popped up on Apple Pay was one that had expired. Fortunately, Apple is kind to those make that boneheaded mistake as I just updated payment and the phone is scheduled to be here on the 3rd!

This was the easiest pre-order event for me, shockingly. The 7plus matte was harder for me to get last year.

I had to pay the tax upfront.
 
I know its not a pre-order item, but anyone order accessories, case, etc? I just ordered one off of amazon...
 
Shocked about availability at AT&T now. Didn’t need to wake up at 2:30 am.
