I'm starting to wonder if this vague email and attempt to cancel my order over the phone is their way of "legitimately" getting out of the mess they're in with the inaccurate delivery dates. As soon as I questioned why they needed to cancel and asked for a supervisor, they quickly put my order back on track without any explanation.

There are no “inaccurate” delivery dates.
All wording says “expected” and “subject to change”. People read that as “guaranteed” and then get upset when it changes.

I got the first and second e-mails and the status says delivery:Nov 3 and In-Progress. That's the best you can hope for, for now, correct? Did anyone else's order proceed further?

Didn't know you could do this. Curious what would happen if you kept both phones.

Also don’t your sign a contract when you purchase that first iPhone? How can you then buy a 2nd elsewhere?
Because nothing is really processed until it is. Apple doesn’t pull the upgrade until it’s getting ready to ship. I am becoming more optimistic that ATT will come through as my upgrades are processed when I go into them and it says to pay the 1199 to upgrade. I also have gotten two emails with the date of 11/3. We also got a text message this morning that our orders are almost ready to ship. Once I get a confirmation I will cancel apples order. 2-3 weeks out for that one and again they won’t process anything until it gets close to ship.

I have 4 orders placed through ATT Premier w/ times ranging from 3:17 to 3:30am EST.. all still pending as of now.

I think the orders stay in progress until they actually ship. From ordering in the past I usually don't remember getting shipping information until a couple of days before delivery.

There is no "Preparing for Shipment" state then? If so we probably won't see any movement until mid next week.

Just noticed it now says this in ATT Premier.. looks like it went through.

Device Protection
Your contract start date is 10/27/2017. You have 30 days from this date to enroll in a mobile protection plan.”

What would happen if you didn’t cancel the Apple order?

They might change to that but I don't think it will happen until next week.
Probably right since from my experience ATT stock is shipped from the US. I had ordered a few pre-orders from ATT without any issues. This time, I wanted to do it through the Apple app but it kept saying the store wasn't open yet. And since my ATT page was on a relatively short queue, I went with ATT.

Did you purchase unlocked with full price? Shouldn't you be able to purchase 2?

Well, that was fast!

just got my second email for my second order ( 256 Silver 12:15PST) - no date range.. just expected delivery 11/3

so both of my orders are now "we're good to go" expected delivery 11/3

The second email sent from AT&T was in my junk folder. Make sure y'all check that.

It was in my junk folder too. So I got an email when I placed the order, then a - we’re ready to go - email at 7:30 am. No text.
