My order didn’t ask for credit card info for the taxes. I hope that doesn’t cause issues with our orders because I see a few people on this thread who said the same thing. November 3rd delivery date here
 
Ordered at 3:05 am Friday morning, Nov 3 est'd delivery, CC charged for taxes, 2 pm Friday afternoon notice from my CC that taxes had been reversed, checked order online and it had been cancelled, 3:30 pm Friday, email saying order cancelled because I could not be identified. Two phone calls and 3 reps later with no further explanation. Told to just reorder and they would note the account to get same ship date as original. Did NOT happen. This was the last straw in a long line of screw ups by AT&T on my account in the last month. They just lost a $200 a month customer. Thought enough to have a friend back me up with a Verizon X.
 
they said there was an error in their system so the ordered couldn't be fixed and it had to be reprocessed

Same here. Had my SG 256 ordered at 3:11 and my wife’s Silver 256 ordered at 3:13. Both at a Nov. 3 delivery date. Both order emails out instantly and then a 6 AM or so email that my wife’s phone was all set. I logged onto the AT&T app ane there was this strange message alert that read “Don’t want your order cancelled?” and a number. When I called no one at AT&T could tell me why the order was not going to ship even though I had an order number and it was showing as an order on my account. Two plus hours on the phone and endless chats I ended up reordering at 11:30 AM and getting another Silver 256 instead of the SG. It still had a Nov 2-10 ship date unlike the December SG dates. Plus I figured I’d been in space for a long time and why not change it up. :) No white bezel made the change easier.

Anyway, every year it’s the same thing with AT&T. Really annoying.

You might want to check with them to see when the phone will actually ship. I ordered my X around 11am (pacific) and got estimated ship date 11/2-11/10. When I talked to a rep online, he told me that it would ship out 25-35 days due to high demand. I hope it doesn't happen to you and that you do get yours within that timeframe. It really bummed me out leading to a cancellation of my preorder.

I got the first email and the second one that stated the order was set and was in progress.

I got a text later in the day stating “Good News your order is almost ready to ship.” I’m assuming that means nothing with their useless ordering system. To be honest I had enough AT&T customer service interaction for a while and don’t feel like calling them. If it changes to 25-30 days I may just cancel the order and get one when the craziness dies down. At least I can pass the time waiting reading through endless threads about my bezel is scratched and my screen seems yellow. :)

By the way, I get at&t business premier discount as work phone. Can’t believe 256G X only cost $499, with 2 years contract, which I am fine since I change phone every 2 years anyway.

Maybe ATT will use the last form of payment for your taxes.

I was immediately charged sales tax with the card I keep on file with them.

I ordered at 9:05 AM ET, but nabbed a Nov 3 delivery date (somehow, luck maybe? idk). Still says "In Progress." Been checking all day for movement since then. Here's to hoping, though I have a preorder in with Apple as well for Nov 17-24 just in case AT&T doesn't make good on the Nov 3rd date for some reason. I got two emails though. One after ordering at 9:06 AM and then one more at 12:14 PM with a title "Here's an update on your order" and the email said "we're good to go!" Praying praying praying for a Preparing to Ship status maybe tomorrow? I got Silver 64GB.

Mine still says in progress with nov 3rd date but now the option to cancel order is gone-
Update just checked and now I have preparing to ship.
I other news I was charged for the taxes on the phone twice,I have 2 preauthorizations I’m hoping the second was a mistake and will fall off.

sigh mine still says 'in progress' and you can still see the 'cancel order' option .. that is so weird ... at least it still says delivery date nov 3rd
 
My status is still in progress with a nov 3rd delivery date. But never received a 2nd email. Also when I checked out it said that taxes would be applied to my next bill.
 
Question for you guys - has anyone ever purchased an AT&T GSM iPhone in-full via Apple’s Store, but upon receiving it, taken it back to Apple to re-purchase it using AT&T Next?

I’ve heard about people “returning” their phones at Apple Stores, and re-purchasing the exact same phone using Apple’s Upgrade Program. I’m looking to do something similar, albeit with Next instead.

I had the same situation...ship dates are still showing 11/2-11/10 in the system for my order. They haven't changed them (yet).

I had the same alert on my account but it turns out that it was nothing. Everyone I talked to said it looked fine and sure enough two hours later the second email came that we were good to go. 11/3 delivery
 
Lucky! I’m still under “in progress”. I still have the “expect delivery between 11/2 - 11/10. May I ask what time you set your preorder?

I have the same thing; in the myAT&T app, I didn’t see the cancel order button. Looking on the full website, the cancel order button is still there.

My taxes are going to be added to my monthly bill. I was surprised a att rep earlier in the told me I had to pay with credit card. I am still showing Nov 3rd delivery date.

Ordered 2 phones (one 64GB and one 256GB), did not have to pay taxes on either during checkout and was not prompted to enter a CC. Chat rep told me it would be added to my next bill. Both phones have now changed to "Preparing to Ship".
