lol yea, status online shows 'preparing to ship' but *6737# says backordered..
Quit scaring people. Everybody needs to call this number *6737# And you’ll see that most of the orders show up as backordered. This is normal.
And if nobody bothered to call the number but has an email that says backordered?
I’m going to guess the text system and the email system aren’t directly connected if there are two status differences.
It should ship in a business day after we see the "backordered" status, so expecting to get the tracking info sometime tomorrow!

If I recall, in past launches, this meant your phone is being shipped. ATT is a little weird where right before a label is printed for you, you get the back ordered message. But I could be wrong.

Just spoke to AT&T Premier, they said that there is no tracking information as of yet. The order is scheduled to be delivered by November 2, 2017 and the latest November 3rd. They also mentioned that they do not use UPS anymore, only FedEx. They informed me that we should be getting a tracking number/shipment notification by tomorrow.

With my experience, they don't know squat and just tell you what you want to hear to calm you down. Its a mess and there is no rhyme or reason...

I just know myself from pre-ordering many iterations of iphones from them, that they are shipped fedex next day air on Thursday. I don't remember if you would get a ATT notice if they print a label on Wednesday but if you are registered with Fedex, I remember getting one.
I ordered through Premier at 312AM. Sometime that day At&t canceled my order. Called premier back and bottom line was I had to place new order. New delivery date sometime in December. So I cancel order. Premier supervisor calls me today, unsolicited, and says she can override new shipping dates and give me my original one. So I place order again for a Silver 256 X with shipping dates 11/3-11/17.
Damn dude, I say I am busy at work and sometimes I am but I def wasn't gonna forget to wake up and order, nonetheless until 3:45PM! Good on you for being this busy, honestly - probably a good sign for your career.
