Mine changed to backordered on my silver 256 this am after two days of being prepare to ship, but there's a cancelation link towards the right side of the screen screen
*6737# does not work for me. Since last night I’ve been getting this response.

Hello everyone! I was able to snag a Silver 256 GB phone with a Launch day delivery! I am using AT&T Next upgrade from my 7 Plus and it says my trade in is required. Does anyone know how this works? Do I take my phone in to an AT&T store after I get my X? Or does AT&T mail me something to send it to them? And surely I don’t need to like take it today and be without a phone for a week? Thanks for your help, I love this place!

AT&T sends you an email with instructions and you have 14 days to send it in. Don’t go past the 14 days because they will send it back to you and make you keep it and you have to pay the balance on the phone. This happened to me last year when I upgraded on the next plan and I was so upset. You can not take it into the att store because it goes to a different place and att can not accept the phone.
 
I preordered on 10/27 through my local AT&T store at approximately 9:15 am to pick it up in store. Current status still shows "in progress" and estimated ship dates between 11/2-11/10. I've heard three different things from three different AT&T customer service reps. One told me it wont be delivered until 12/5, which makes no sense. The other told me it should ship between the above dates and they are waiting on apple to send them the next wave of shipments. The third told me it will ship tomorrow and arrive in store on Friday for pick up.

Anyone have some insight? It's driving me nuts not being able to know when itll be delivered

They actually don’t send you a prepaid label. Don’t wait on that! They email it to you and If you don’t get the email call att and ask them to. I’ve already gotten my email and printed off my material. As soon as you receive your device they start the 14 days.
 
I’ve haven’t had an issue with this for years. I always tape a note to the door just in case. Not sure if that’s helped.

Yea you are probably right.. I think also in this day in age; I dont trust leaving the package at the door... Now I like Amazon option where the delivery person can actually leave the package inside my house - although thats another discussion entirely.. lol. I am sure my pitbull would love a stranger to walk inside the house with a box of dog treats..lmao

You are actually the first I read to pre-order from a store in this thread so there will probably not be many responses. However the CSR's are clueless when it comes to speculating on delivery dates in general.

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone else who did a pre-order in store. I'm friendly with the manager of my local store and she placed the order for me. Somehow I'm hoping for an update to show it'll be delivered on Friday!

I received a fedex notification about shipping and got all excited. Turns out it’s for my leather case from Apple. I always thought Apple used ups..

Off topic: There’s another thread regarding a BOGO deal from att with the X but it’s not advertised and the poster was able to get the deal by going into the store. Anyone get this deal? I haven’t had a chance to call att yet.
 
Welp, ordered 256GB Silver at XX:22am and have been in preparing to ship for a few days, always with a "Delivery by date" of November 3, however the charge has fallen off of my credit card now which worries me. Talking to an AT&T CSR over chat now.

EDIT: They claim it is ok and everything DOES look the same as before on the order status, I agree... Gut feeling: AT&T screwed me and I won't be getting a phone until my apple orders ship out on 11/17-11/24
 
I noticed last night that AT&T has an earlier ship date that Apple does. On AT&T for the silver 256gb they have a ship date of Nov 29th - Dec 6th and on Apple.com its from Dec 12th - Dec 19th. I have an order for a space gray 256gb coming on Friday, but I really think I want silver instead so I placed an order through AT&T.. I hope their shipping estimate is accurate and it ships by Nov 29th
 
I placed my two orders within 2 minutes of each other, the first at 2:25 am central time. My immediate ship date was 11/3 for both phones (both 64GB Space Gray). My status has remained Preparing to ship since this weekend, with no ability to track the phone by reference. I saw others talking about the *6737# option so I gave it a whirl. It came back with my items were back ordered. The AT&T site still shows they are preparing to ship. Guess at this point it will be a waiting game to tomorrow morning. All shipping information should start coming in by then.

Edit: My card has never been charged, or had a charge pending.

Edit 2: Spoke with customer service and they advised to disregard the message from *6737#. Stated my orders would be arriving tomorrow.

Traded in two phones last year - one had a prepaid label in the box. One did not. They are supposed to send you a prepaid label in the box with your new phone. If they do not - call them and they will email you one.

Ordered through at&t 10/27 @ 6:08am eastern, space gray, 256gigs

anyone else ordered the same phone, around the same time as me getting any progress? should I be worried with my est. shipping date? (Dec 1st - 15th)
