Been lurking a few weeks awaiting delivery of my SG 6+ 64GB (ordered 9/15) and have come to the following conclusion:

If you've ordered a 6+ and have checked the standard places for signs of your order moving:

and it isn't moving AND you have the option to pick it up from the Apple store:

1) Find a store with it in stock: http://www.seaturtle.org/idevice/
2) Cancel your AT&T order
3) Reserve and schedule pickup via apple.com

A majority of the new phones coming in appear to be going to stock Apple's own stores/orders...a smaller part appears to be going to the various vendors, of which AT&T is just one (and even with AT&T, some portion still appears to be going to their stores).

Some of us (phone's bought through employer managed business accounts, some permutations of AT&T NEXT plan, etc.) have no other option but to wait. About all we can do is watch the shipments arrive and hope one is ours:

PS - For those that have ordered the iPhone 6 (not the 6+), you are more likely to get your phone soonish...but you may also want to consider buying directly from Apple.

Guys..I could not wait anymore and just got my iphone.

Like many of you, I ordered 128GB 6+ Space Grey on 9/14 and played the AT&T waiting game with expected delivery 11/9 - 11/27.

So today I happened to check http://www.seaturtle.org/idevice/ and Bellevue Mall (near Seattle) had it in stock in Gold. I tried to get it held on the phone but could not since I had an existing pre-order.

So I bit the bullet and drove 15 minutes to the mall. They did indeed have 2 128GBs, one in gold and one in silver. They offered to reserve it for me until closing. So I then went to AT&T store and requested my order to be canceled. And it was done in 5 mins. Walking back, I checked my status on apple.com and could indeed order. Went back to Apple Store with my reservation, signed up for Next, paid taxes and am now the proud owner of a 6+ 128GB in Silver.

I will never ever order directly from AT&T ever again.
 
Truth -- I think the supply will eventually catch up with demand - I am just hoping that time comes by mid-late October instead of Thanksgiving.

Just pre-ordered note 4 for pickup on the 17th. I'll cancel for sure if ATT hasn't shipped out my 6+ by then.

Thanks for the links. I was at least able to get an estimated ship window from AT&T, which my company would not pass along. It says 10/21-11/10, which seems ridiculous, given I placed the order on 9/22. But, it is what it is, as I cannot order through Apple. Hoping to get my sooner because our company orders cannot be small.
 
Ordered a phone on 9/22 with a number port ... Next day I get an email that there is a problem and they need to reprocess the order. Ok they do that and today I get the same email again and I call in bs they tell me the order needs to be reprocessed again. I today I cancel the order and order from apple who says 7-14 bus days for 65gb gray i6.
 
Cancelled my 11/9-11/27 128 Silver, Got it at Apple

I did my usual morning routine, check the 877#, check the online status, check the threads, check the Apple store. And shocker, they had my phone in stock 15 minutes from my house. I quickly ordered it, paying retail. But in my excitement I got the 16gb instead of the 64 or 128 I wanted. I tried to exchange it (within 2 minutes of ordering), and couldn't. Apple on the phone tried to get Apple retail to hold since it would be an exchange. Retail couldn't so I went down there. Waiting in line 1 hr, got my reservation for the 128!! Came back several hours later, did the exchange and walked out with phone. No problem canceling with ATT because although I ordered at 2 pm on 9/12 launch date, apparently I was NO where near close to getting my phone. So, I'm going to set it up now, but wanted to give update. Can't say to "hang-in there, it will come," because I'm so disgusted with ATT. Going to pay the balance of my obligation on other Next phone line and will move carriers as soon as I can. Well, that's the end of my drama. Never again, ATT.
 
Well for the heck of it I decided to talk to AT&T customer service and see if they could check on the status of my order. I told the rep I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Space Gray. She said those are on back order right now. So I asked if she knew when AT&T might be getting more and she said this, "We are looking to get a shipment in Next week but these devices will be sent out to customers who ordered so you might be in this next Wave of Iphones.".

I just saw this post actually, I am not a prepubescent teen, I am a 28 year old adult that was concerned about the order that I placed on my phone so I called to check on it. I also currently use an iPhone so not only are you wrong on both assumptions, you are also quite rude. If you don't have anything nice to say why don't you shut your mouth and say nothing at all. I don't understand why so many people have to put others down for a comment they put on a forum this is a place for discussion not a place to put other people down. So if you don't mind keep your rude comments to yourself and don't come to assumptions of people when you have absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

So I was able to get my standard upgrade 1 month early by ordering through retentions yesterday. Ordered 2 64GB Gold Plus models that currently being processed.

My question is, if we want to port to T-Mobile, can we do that even though we don't have our phones? I don't want ATT to cancel the phone orders out when they see we are canceling service before the phones are here.
 
The shipping estimates for different SKUs is crazy. I ordered a Silver 6 64GB on 9/18 and have an estimated ship date 09/29/14 - 10/08/14. It has not yet shipped...

28 planes within the past 2 days to Louisville... dem be lotz of phonez. Anyone who ordered on 9/12 should definitely get theirs soon. Me on the other hand... probably not so lucky. :)

So I called Premier and changed the order for iPhone 6 128gb space gray, 5 hours later my status is: Shipped via USPS Express Delivery. This is my experience, I just want to share it.

Similar experience here. Cancelled regular ATT order for iphone 6 128gb and reordered thru premiere 9/29. Phone in my hands already fedex overnight. The mystery of ATT allocation.

This is just making me mad now.

Ordered ip6+ sg 64gb on launch date. After camping outside the store I found out I wouldn't get my phone. So I got lucky ordering it.

People who have ordered the same exact specs AFTER I camped out of the store already got it and I'm still waiting! This is so ridiculous and upsetting, I thought AT&T would be better then this.

Called the 877 number and its backordered
Checked online and it went from processing to ship TO pending shipment
but my delivery date is still 11/02-11/27.
 
No movement on my 6 64GB order placed in store 9/26, estimated 10/16-27.

As luck would have it, my iPhone 4S is tearing through its battery at idle and staple apps are crashing.

Can I cancel my order, go to the Apple store, and then trade my phone into AT&T?
