The strange thing is ive always been throttled. Once I cross the 3.5+ gig I started getting crippling speeds. Lets see once my next billing cycle comes along

I have the same and they switched me to unlimited.
I haven't seen the change in the app. Still says 450. Oh well I rarely use any minutes anyway but maybe I'll get the change soon.

EDIT: it states I have the 450 with rollover but in "anytime minutes" says unlimited. I guess that's unlimited.. Ha!

I now have unlimited everything with AT&T for $89.99 (minus FAN discount). I'm loving it.

I have the family talk 700 plan with $30 for unlimited text and unlimited mobile to mobile. I will give them a call to see where I can save on the minutes and or text plan once I see the "unlimited" talk on my account

Just applied for a 10% Fan discount, hopefully this brings my bill down a little

Have you reset your phone? Reduced if you're on a congested tower speeds are when you reach 5GB not 3.5 GB.

There can't be more than a few terraphantm users around... did a double take on the website I was on.

I noticed that as well . But look at Nights and weekends. It says 5000 still. But I switched to the nation 450 plan and it says the same as you stated but when I use minutes it counts down from the 450. So it can't be truely unlimited.

It might be their system is still not calibrated to show the change or something. Really doesn't matter to me I barely use any minutes, have around 6k rollover minutes!

I have the 700 plan like most here. I was going to the 550 last eve and got the warning notice for dropping the texting plan. I am paying 20 now for it. I hate to loose that, only to have to pay 30 again and dropping the overall savings to 5.00. not worth the risk. Anyone certain they will drop it to 20 with the 550 plan.
Hell, I am actually considering T-mobile anyway, have not been able to make up my mind.

Wow, more than half the posts here are concerned about unlimited phone minutes. I probably haven't gone over 30 minutes of phone time in a single month in years! However, I do see my data usage going up and up. I actually remember when my phone minutes were unlimited on nights and weekends and it was horror to me when the cell phone companies started capping those types of minutes.

I'm glad to see they are raising the (maybe throttled) cap of unlimited plans though. I think the highest I've had so far is 4GB of data in a month(I'm on mostly on WIFI at home and at work). But a lot more comfortable having that breathing room.

As for those people bragging about using more than 22GB a month. Don't be using the same cell towers as me!

I believe the reason everyone is talking about voice minutes is due to Wifi Calling. In order to use this feature you needed unlimited talk which does not come standard like mobile share. Most UDP users have rollover minutes. By AT&T automatically converting talk to unlimited will allow Family Plan users to use this feature. Im also thinking that most users have thousand of excess minutes to were its no longer a profit maker for AT&T.

I haven't heard of a single person who wasn't able to have retention give them the $20 texting. Don't make it a factor in your decision process.

I'll make sure to congest your cell towers. Since the policy change months ago... I've in the 30 to 40 range... highest was 60gb. You can call it bragging if you want... just enjoying my 6+ without a need to monitor my data usage or concerns for hard throttles. Leaving wifi off has increased my battery efficiency. :)

What I would like to know is if you are on nation Unlimited Talk before all these changes. What will AT&T do for the users who have been on Nation Unlimited Talk all this time ?

Apparently in an attempt to minimize the fines by the FCC proposed in the $100 million range, AT&T quietly bumped up the monthly usage for unlimited customers to 22GB.

Well, I guess holding onto the UNLIMITED plan finally worked out for some.

I can hardly believe after all these years the throttling limit increased from 5GB to 22GB. A

Are you saying you can now tether with your unlimited data? If so, maybe I should have kept mine. However, I don't watch video for hours on end so unlimited is worthless to me. Tethering does mean something to me for VERY occasional access to the internet on my iPad or MBA.

No tethering...yet.

If I were you I call retention and ask for 20 dollars SMS M2M plan. They still able to give it to you. If you wont get it, just call them again. Try to call in the morning and be polite. This way you save 120/year +tax.

If you have 3 lines or less, just call retention, politely tell them, that you want to reduce your bill, they will transfer you to 550 with 20 M2M SMS plan. As I always say, you feel the CS rep. doesn't want to help you, hang up and call back again. 1-3 attempts and you will be there

T-mo doesn't work for me. I use it for travel only. Network is not as good as Att in my area. I'm in LTE 12, but it is not on yet.

Technically you are not. But I know a real person, who called retention( a line to cancel service) and got 20 SMS plan. He told them that his bill was too high and he knew that it was possible to have 20 dollars plan to be a satisfied customer, bla-bla-bla.

I just called retention to switch me from 700 to 550 family plan with 20 sms plan. I was told that I have to drop one line in order to have it, but I could keep my SMS plan(technically 20 sms plan not available on 550 plan). I prefer to have more than 3 lines, so I refused to change. Here the SMS plans choice I have. I post to you the plan I have and plans I can choose.

I called them also for 5 dollars 200 SMS plan, but they didn't give it to me. :-(

You should also know, that you talk to a life person, he/she refused to switch you, just call them back. Sometimes I call them up to 3 times to get something.

I wish you a good luck. :)

I got mine switched to the $20 plan last week. Make sure you call retentions (the phone option for cancelling service), and be super nice to the CS rep. Ask if they can help you with lowering your bill. Plan to be on hold for awhile while they do whatever it is they need to do on their end. I got it on the first try, but if the rep you get doesn't want to help you, just call back.

Afterwards, they should email you a confirmation of the plan change so you can review it.
