I finally got my iPad 2 back and this one hardly has any backlight bleeding. I was pleasantly surprised. Might get around to posting a pic soon.

Don't forget to check for dead pixels. Some of us who got iPads back with minimal light bleed, ended up with one or two dead pixels.

As an update to my earlier post, I had my Genius Bar appointment. They agreed to replace the iPad 2 but had none in stock so have ordered one in. They said this would be a one off replacement and they would not open multiple boxes to find a satisfactory iPad 2. If the replacement wasn't satisfactory, they would refund the purchase price. I explained that I'd bought my iPad 2 in the US and they said that they would still refund the money to me.

Sunday when I got my brown box pixel special I was told that this would be it for replacements. When I called Apple support the woman I spoke to was really surprised and apologized up down. She said a hardware problem is not the customer's fault and told me he was wrong. I think local stores get a little too excited playing company man/woman for their own good.

Here is mine that arrived on Friday.

Brand new bought online from Apple. Ordered April 3rd - arrived last Thursday. Looks lush with my Red smart cover. :D

Don't plan on ever using it under the conditions that I took that photo though.

sooooooooooo amazing. so shipped from china? can you post the tracking information? maybe we can figure out which area it's coming from.

my first ipad 2 shipped by fedex from china. i returned that one for a full refund and placed a new order around mid april and it's shipped out already, but this time it's coming by UPS... perhaps a new area?

would appreciate the info :)

thanks! sorry for bugging u but ONE LAST question... can you give us the first 4 letters/numbers of the serial??? i think someone in the middle of the forum said something about 4th letter of the serial being F has bleed issues, but if ur ipad has F then we can just forget abt the serial number theory...

Theory out the window.

I've thought about it for a bit. I'm going to call Apple tomorrow. If they are willing to take this unit back I'll send it to them and give it one more shot. That is if the unit they send back is inspected for bleed and pixels. They might tell me to screw. In that is the case I'll be putting this unit up for sale.

Maybe I'll use my Portenzo to store important stuff. :p

Is there an email for support? I've looked but couldn't fine one.

No email support just phone.

I received a "brown box replacement" and I must say it is very nice. Much better than the first two I had.

This actually has made me think whether we should try to figure out if units from a particular place are defective while from other places they are not.

The 4th letter F serial number thing is obviously wrong.

I ordered on the 18th of April and it shipped from: Chengdu, China. It hasn't arrived, yet.

Has anyone had theirs shipped from Chengdu? Just wondering.

Okay. I am wondering, though, if anyone has received a unit from there and whether it had backlight bleeding.
