Haha, just seen tons of people saying he's from the UK on here the last month or so, sadly we can't claim responsibility for his awesomeness lol

But you can claim Julie so be proud. I love her, even before today. I will claim Erbo. New York stand up!!! Which is ironic because I really hate Hot97, which is the station he's on here. I'm pleased that he's playing a lot of different kinds of music. I love Leon Bridges and was pleased to hear him play his music. And then he dropped the soca tunes on us. Love it.

Ebro was playing a lot of Eminem & Jay-Z, they're not my taste, but they are big in the UK and Europe, along with the rest of the world, not just the US....

They are big in Europe? I have to live in a different Europe then. Luckily this hiphop crap isn't really big around here.

But have checked the DJs. Now I wonder more how it should represent the world. None of them is probable to play JPOP/JRock, Eurodance or european Metall. Hell not even anything popular in the mainstream here. The only promising slot is the Elton John hour in a week...

Again, you're projecting your personal taste onto the whole of europe. I'm not a hiphop fan at all, but I know it's big in Europe, take your blinders off and acknowledge the world around you....

Zane Lowe has quite a mix of stuff, check him out. There are obviously some niche areas that will get missed out, but still, for what it is, and it's only just a start, it's already got a wide range of styles in there.

I wasn't arguing. I told you how it was. It wasn't a debate.

You told him a flawed distorted view, ignoring facts that prove you wrong........ :p

Honestly, you (we) should stop responding to the troll. A lot of closed minded people just looking for attention because their lives are sad. And when I was in Germany, hip-hop was all anyone was listening to.

Those are very exquisite sub/genres. If this were on Beats 1 no one would listen to it. You gotta appeal to the masses. JPop does not appeal to the masses, but hip hop, rap, pop and rock do (even if I dislike rap personally, it still has broader appeal than those genres you mentioned).

And Eurodance? This isn't the Eurovision Song Contest...

Yea, you're right. It's just baffling how narrow-minded some people are.

This is the reality for sure. They could probably do a indie show (I'm hoping for a Beats2 or 3 for indie, but who knows?), but it would have to be at an odd time of day.

While listening today around noon PST I had many loops that occurred where the broadcast would jump back about 30 seconds.

Did anyone else get this problem?

I think in the coming days & weeks, we'll see a greater cross section of music from various DJs. But today being the first day, they are showcasing their primary anchors. I have really enjoyed it. But I'm certainly looking forward to more variety.

Makes you think Sirius and Pandora may be on their way out.

Why they do this is beyond me. The song playing now "Melé Ambience" I cannot find either.

Why play music we can't get on Music?

And why the heck isn't there at least an iTunes link?!!!!
Way to kill Music App and iTunes integration.

Tap the ... icon and hit "add to My Music" and you can save any song, as far as I can tell.

Btw you can search for the DJs to listen to the playlists they played today. Just type Zane in
That's fantastic. They really have thought a lot of this through. There's a lot around the edges they obviously need to work on (there are stars and hearts. Should be one or the other, and I should easily be able to find each)

Totally agree. I'll give Beats1 a pass at the moment, as this is day one of week one of, essentially, month one. This radio station deserves at least a 30 day beta test to see how it does in the wild. But I hope that they either plan—or will plan—to be musically global as well as broadcasting globally. I very much want to hear DJ's from any or all of the 100 countries as well as popular music from any and all of them.

It would frustrate me if this radio station didn't become, in content and in presenters, as international as its hoped for audience.

Jpop!!! Are you serious? For a wide appeal station... Man! I hate 95% of it with a passion (Don't worry I also hate 90% of what's on Billboard). As for eurodance, some are fine but you don't want that mid day while you work. Eurodance is way less popular now as it was 15 years ago; a bit behind the times are we? You may get crossover plays from some of those genres; but in general they're not going to be played.

Many of the stuff I like most won't be played either, that's ok, as long as the stuff that is played that's not on prefferred list doesn't make me want to shut down the station.

Yup..
