The song was Gosh, the album is In Colour
Following the launch of Apple Music alongside iOS 8.4, Apple's Beats 1 radio station led by Zane Lowe has begun broadcasting. Available in more than 100 countries, Beats 1 is a 24/7 radio station that will play music around the clock with live DJs and guests.
The inaugural song played on Beats 1 radio right when it kicked off at 9:00 a.m. was Spring King's "City," which was followed by Beck's "Dreams" and Jamie xx's "In Color." Spring King was picked by Lowe as a great upcoming band from Manchester.
Beats 1 features several shows by various on-air personalities, and a full lineup of what's going to be on can be found at the Beats 1 website, which forwards to Apple's new Tumblr page for Apple Music and Beats 1. The Tumblr page has a complete schedule that displays what's playing, and it adjusts to your time zone based on location.

Beats 1 will include exclusive interviews and news broadcasts, with the first interview taking place tomorrow with Eminem. According to Zane Low, today's focus is on the music, and several exclusive songs will be played over the course of the day.
Apple Music is available now and is free for all listeners for the first three months. Following the trial period, the service will cost $9.99 per month for individuals or $14.99 for families of up to 6.

You can also choose to follow a certain artist and only their genre should be played by Zane. That's what I did. He was playing too much stuff I don't care for.My thoughts listening since launch:
1) Zane Lowe is amazing, and I have missed him in my ear holes while I work - Usually to BBC Radio One
2) The Clean Stream is an interesting choice - especially since Dr. Dre has been outspoken about lyrical edits/chops to make it radio friendly.
3) I haven't been a fan of every song played, but the fact is this last hour and a half has been curated so well, you can't help but enjoy it. A little bit of everything, and it is just mixed well to fit together. The Art of the DJ has returned.
4) The Sound Quality is amazing - Even on LTE.
I am hooked.
B1 is pretty freakin' awesome, and I'm not a radio guy at all. Even having used Beats, Spotify, Rdio already... I'm very impressed.
Isn't radio one worldwide too on streaming? I don't really get the excitement. It seems like a 24/7 advert for Apple Music streaming.
I'd rather listen to a well curated playlist without an over excited DJ talking over all the tracks.
Side note - does anyone else thing the new Pharrell song isn't all that? Boring.
I was referring to Beats1 as being a pure radio station, which it effectively is.Well Beats 1 is actually far different from TuneIN. With TuneIN you can only choose the genre rather than a specific artist or curator. By following a specific artist/curator it will narrow down the type of music choices you like hearing rather than just choosing POP, R&B or Rock. But yes, overall for just listening to pure radio they are the same.
Well for one, it doesn't have Fearne Cotton on it. Though I just read that she's quit Radio 1 so I suppose what you say is true.I'm surprised how many people in my Twitter feed are peeing themselves over Beats 1 as if Apple reinvented radio. To me Beats 1 reminds me of BBC Radio without the local news/weather/traffic.
eh, it's better then "Happy"Side note - does anyone else thing the new Pharrell song isn't all that? Boring.
They have yet to release it - bit of a fluke. But it is not iOS only.Apple Music is only for iOS devices? I've just installed a Yosemite Update 10.10.4 but iTunes is the same no apple music or beats1. Are they releasing an iTunes update today?
Now everyone sticks in here.Beats 1 requires iTunes 12.2 to run. OS X 10.10.4 didn't bring it. And it's not available for download yet, not by auto-update, neither at the iTunes website

Subscribe to a radio station? You realise it's free right?Censored = huge fail. No one was ever going to subscribe for a lame music radio station anyway. This thing so far is OK at best. The white background is terrible. The UI is awful (why can't I create a playlist from Albums?!). Spotify is in no jeopardy of losing me as a customer for this so far.
