Beats 1 has a tiny feature, which is funny for me.
I play a game requiring constant music playback. When I play it, radio stops. When I complete playing, radio goes back online. This is different from playing music locally, which will not resume playing after ending playing game.

Oh, am I incorrect about this? Perhaps. It seemed like the genre of artists I chose to follow seemed to only be played on Beats 1. Sorry, if I'm wrong it's fine. I'm still getting used to this.

Could you then explain what is the point of choosing to follow a particular artist or curator?

What do you expect? Apple has customers of all ages.

I expect unedited music. This is 2015, not 1962. SiriusXM has many unedited channels. SiriusXM has customers of all ages as well.

Youtube has customers of all ages, yet I can listen to Dr Dre's The Chronic there unedited. Not on Beats 1. :(

If you have to play censored music then just simply don't play Eminem, Dr Dre, etc.

This is because you are choosing to listen to it just on your device. Beats1 is playing to every iPhone in the world (on 8.4) right now. Beats1 has to play to the masses, not directly to you.

Zane keeps telling us where to find the schedule... but I can't find it! He just says to 'tap on Beats 1'. Yeah, where the hell is that exactly? I am guessing in iTunes for Mac or PC, but of course... iTunes 12.2 hasn't been released yet.

It sounds like it'll be in iTunes 12.2 whenever Apple gets around to releasing it. In the meantime, you can check applemusic.tumblr.com

I expect people to get over their delicate sensibilities as far as hearing "dirty" words are concerned. People are way too sensitive. I'd have to agree, censored music sucks.

They're gonna lose listeners over it being censored too. The ones that actually have money to spend.

Why are some people getting grumpy that Beats 1 is censored?! There are a variety of age groups that listen to radio. Also, if it wasn't censored, they'd lose listeners. GET OVER IT.

I will not listen to censored music, so they are losing listeners. Play music that doesn't need to be censored if you don't want swear words. Listening to bleeped out music is like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard.

I can't stand when people tell you to "get over it" because they don't agree with you. So narrow minded.

Beats 1 is the only live 247 Apple Music radio station. No doubt SiriusXM has many hundreds of stations you can listen to.Some will be kid-friendly. Apple has one.

YouTube is a manual selection. You can manually select explicit tracks on Apple Music as well. Hence this is a false analogy ;)

On my phone, I tap Music, and then Radio (at bottom of screen). I get the "B1 Worldwide. Always on." image. Tap anywhere on that image EXCEPT the "listen now" button, and it will flip to the schedule.

Ah well, go elsewhere then. So far Beats 1 has been brilliant.

Does Sirius play uncensored stuff in the mornings / afternoons?

As an adult I would also prefer an uncensored stream. But you must remember that Apple has customers of all ages. Imagine the articles on the flipside:
'Shock as Apple airs FILTHY Dr. Dre song within minutes of launching their live radio service as THOUSANDS of children tune in'

Yeah, I gotta agree. UI is beyond awful. I actually resisted upgrading to Yosemite for the same reason also, until today, so I could check out (in theory anyway) Apple Music. It's obviously not working on the desktop yet, but Yosemite is uuuuuuugly. And Apple Music is gross also.

Censored = huge fail. No one was ever going to subscribe for a lame music radio station anyway. This thing so far is OK at best. The white background is terrible. The UI is awful (why can't I create a playlist from Albums?!). Spotify is in no jeopardy of losing me as a customer for this so far.

Oh no! Apple aired a filthy Dr. Dre song? Good thing that Youtube protects children's delicate ears!

I don't think they use actual bleeps.

I think more people will tune in because they think they'll hear good music, than will switch off because they don't like the odd edit.

If you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, that's up to you.

You'll find yourself getting over Yosemite's design soon enough. You can't stay stuck in the past as OSX updates increase and you're left on older software.

Same for SiriusXM, yet somehow they can send uncensored music? I guess they are just smarter.

Um, and Beats 1 is most definitely NOT playing on every iPhone in the world right now. It's only playing for the people who have chosen to listen to it.

There really is no defense for playing censored music. If it's censored, simply don't play it. There are tons of other songs out there.
