Just got the delay from Best Buy on a 256. Can't cancel online because it's an upgrade. I will get it canceled via a phone call, and I'm sticking with my Note 9. I wasn't dying to change anyway. Best Buy is once again causing me a headache though, as I'm sure this will be a 60 minute phone call.
 
I ordered mine on the 18th online for store pick up, at the time it said ready for pick up Friday the 21st and it says processing pre ordered. When I call Best Buy it says my order is preparing and now online the date disappeared it just says store pick up
My date disappeared too. *fingers crossed*
 
Same here and cant cancel. Never using best buy again. Used my upgrade for att so cant even go to att store and get one in timely manner.

For anyone who's orders been cancelled or were late on the pre orders, checking on bestbuy.com I can see that a lot of the stores in my area have inventory of the 64 and 256gb variants with in store pickup. I believe you can order it online and they'll hold it for you. Not too sure on how release day phones go with bestbuy.

Last night when I got the email at 11:34 PM that my phone was “delayed” with no other explanation or timetable given I was livid. Not outwardly but I was enraged. Now that I have slept a few hours ...

At the end of the day I have to remember its a phone. A phone I was very much looking forward to setting up and using but a phone. I did the best I could with the information I had (I never thought to research vendors, now I know but already have done so) to get it on the release date.

The issue for me is that I feel if I had chosen to pick it up instead of having it shipped that I would have it later today. And I don’t like that. I get having some set aside for walk ins as it drives store traffic but shipped or pick up the line should be the same. The other issue is that it took until 11:30 the night before to realize that my phone wasn’t going to be delivered on time. i find it hard to believe (more directly I don’t believe) that they didn’t know. Also if stores in my area had some they should have offered a pick up option, being that it was so late.

My main concern now is my Verizon upgrade. I have two weeks to return the old phone. If its two weeks from today and I don’t have the replacement today or tomorrow that could be a very real issue. Verizon dealt very fairly with me on a late return last year (they didn’t send a box, I wasn’t diligent enough in pursuing it) so I suspect that it will be OK but still a concern and one more thing I shouldn’t have to deal with.

The other task is to deal with Best Buy. I’m not angry now but this was by any measure terrible customer service. I will never be able to speak with someone who is actually responsible for me not having my phone. The only people I will be able to speak with are the people who don’t make enough money to deal with people like me that just got screwed by the company they work for and have to clean up after. So being rude is pointless and unacceptable for me to do. I have to figure out who to talk to and what to say to get met phone as quickly as possible along with a gift card for my trouble. The figure that pops in my head is $200. Maybe a bit high but it needs to be more than the usual $10 or $20. I understand mistakes happen but when they do a business needs to own it and make it right. There is a reason why Amazon is growing and places like Best Buy are playing catch up.

So to all who are getting their phones today congrats and enjoy. This includes my mom so at least I get to see all the “X” goodies (I have an 8 Plus) as I set it up. And if you get a chance and can pass along any tips on how to get Best Buy to do right by me that would be much appreciated. :)

I get it. I think this was an auto response. Note that October 20 is exactly one month away. So I think it’s a procedural thing and not a shipping estimate of any kind.
 
I received my shipping delayed status late last night as well. No way to cancel the order or make changes. Plenty of stores in my area have stock available. Ill never ship with Best Buy again. I've always shipped it to stores, never had a problem until I decide this time to ship to home. Very frustrated, but nothing I can do about it.
 
My order still hasn’t been picked at the store I ordered from, so I doubt I’m getting mine today. So mad because I had an one for pickup at the Apple store because Best Buy was late putting up their preorders

How did you cancel? Did you call best buy? If so what number did you use? I want to cancel my best buy orders and go in store.

If you can’t cancel online, you should be able to via 1-888-BESTBUY. I’m debating canceling my local order and ordering at a store further away that is showing stock right now.

I ordered for store pickup for today and never got an email saying it will be ready. My status was still pre-order. I canceled my order went back on best and reorder for store pickup at a store that says Available for pick up today and my current status is preparing, my old store location changed to pick up next week

(Update) just got an email it’s ready for pick up, ten mins after I reordered and it’s ready! BB is the worst

They are telling me I can't cancel, that it has a tracking number and awaiting pickup. Don't believe them. Worst experience

Thanks im calling now to cancel. I'll go in stores. They have plenty in my area for local pickup.
 
Cancelled at the local Best Buy and ordered at one about an hour away that still showed stock. It’s in preparing status now so here’s hoping.
 
I called customer service. One of my phones is 37 minutes away in Carmel location and the other in Clarksville, IL, 2 hours away. Just awaiting UPS to pick them up. I'll be patient. Should be here no later than next week. I already have the X.
 
I had a pick-up confirmed for 10:00 AM but still haven't received an email that it's ready for pickup... should I be worried?
 
It’s been over an hour and the other location still hasn’t picked the phone. Never had so many problems with Best Buy before.
 
Well they said it was fixed and gonna ship. Im gonna return it unopened when it arrives. Already got a verizon one on the way. They wont let you cancel once its fixed but you can return from order status once it arrives. Im sick of att and best buy terrible experiences.

Just returned from my local Best Buy empty handed after being told 2 times my phone was physically there. However, when I got there and went to customer pick up, they not only told me my Xs Max 512GB wasn't there, they also said they had zero 512s delivered.

One customer service rep overheard another telling me it is on a UPS truck and being delivered to store today and that other rep said can't be as they only get deliveries on Monday and Wednesdays. Will see what happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

In the meantime, Best Buy must train their customer service people to lie to us customers and/or tell them to tell you whatever you want to hear on the phone prior to release just to tell appease you and, most importantly, get you off the phone.

If my phone isn't there sometime today for pickup, I' m officially done with Best Lie, err, I mean Best Buy. After spending easily more than $50K over the years in TVs, MacBook Pros, phones and cases, appliances, gaming consoles, games and more, I'll take all my future business elsewhere rather than deal with this clown show!
