Interesting. So they are supposed to call us setting up a time to pick it up? I won’t be able to after work hopefully they hold mine
Nice! I’m going for the XS MAX 256gb. Coming from an 8plus. So obviously don’t need to upgrade, but that extra inch of screen is too good to pass up

For me, it was the 512 GB that was too good to pass making me upgrade the 8 Plus.
Yes. They set up the phone for you when you come in. I’m not sure if you can opt out of that (short of having it shipped to you). In my experience it’s their SOP.

Not yet. 512 Gig Max ordered an hour after pre orders opened.

Ordered yesterday when it still says delivered by Sept. 21. Haven't had any update since. Though their website now shows delivery by Sept. 24
Hopefully lol this is actually my first time ever pre ordering a phone and I'm pretty hyped. I have the s8 plus and I love it but I haven't had an iPhone since the 5s and I feel like it's time to switch it up this year.
I am still on pre-order, however, I called my local Best Buy and they said I will be getting a call tomorrow to confirm pickup, with an option to an appointment time with mobile department of I want them to help setup my Max 512GB.
I'm still have a little doubt given what happened with their debacle with the X launch last year, along with fact that you can allegedly pre-order right now and pickup phone on release day. Logic tells me they should be sold out, but who knows for sure.
Only one way to find out. Will see what happens tomorrow and especially on Friday
[doublepost=1537410930][/doublepost]I just checked Best Buy's website and see that some aT&T and Verizon XS and XS Max phones at my local store are finally not available for pickup on release date and instead, are showing pickup dates between September 26th and October 5th.
Hopefully, that's a good sign for all pre-orders stated available for pickup on release day!
I got scared based on the horror stories people are posting about their Best Buy experience and also felt comforted by the fact that some models in my area do not show as available on launch day on the website... fingers crossed!
It makes me wonder if they centralized their inventory a little bit based on region
Will they have stock for walk-ins that don’t want to commit to a new contract just buy out right?
So I have done in store pickups before but I havent done it for a cell phone yet. From the sounds of it they have to send you to the mobile phone section to have them activate it? I called best buy support and the guy I spoke to said something along the lines of that. Anyone have any other info?
YMMV but when I picked up my Pixel 2XL (with device payments on my Verizon plan), I picked it up at in store pickup and was sent home with a paper with instructions as to how to activate it. We'll see on Friday but basically you may not be forced to go to mobile and activate.
