I've always wanted the SS but just couldn't get myself to buy it as a first gen device. With this deal that I just can't pass up, and the fact that I don't care for the "updates" in the series 2 watches, I decided it was time to get the watch I've wanted from day one. Already put my 38mm SG on eBay, and ordered a SS with classic buckle. BB says will be here tomorrow but i still haven't gotten a shipping notification

I ended up buying a 42 SS leather loop for $350. I actually really had a tough time deciding between the space black stainless and the regular stainless when these first came out so I'm excited to get some new band choices and to try out the different look. I went on ebay and they had a NIB apple link band for $300 so basically for what a series 2 would have cost me with a sport band I ended up with a series 0 with link band and leather loop.

I think I would have gone SS for series 2 also (because it would have been kind of boring to have two watches that look pretty much exactly the same) so this way I save a lot of money and get the bands I'd want right off the bat. I'll just switch back and forth based on look which opens up more options. I don't have a problem using my existing series 0 watch so I know what I'm getting into performance wise, I usually have my phone on me for GPS and really don't need more water rating than the watch already has so this seems to work out really well for me.

Mine is here! It feels so premium, fits me great after taking 3 links off. Now I have to wait for it to charge.

Mine arrived today too (SS w/ leather loop) and also had a dead battery! Must have been sitting in a warehouse for a while :) Nothing worse than having to wait for your new toy to charge before you can play with it.

Yeah mine came still on Watch OS 1.0.1 along with the battery being completely dead, so it indeed must have been sitting a while.

I received my 38mm Space Black link and it is gorgeous! mine was the same (Battery dead) had it on the disk for about 3 hours and it finally paired and complained about the primitive software (now updating to Watchos3)

I'm a bigger guy and normally wear a 42 (38 barely fit!) (I wish I could find more links) OMG the price was right!

Ps...my phone is reporting that it is a 2 hour update! Oh well!

Yup the update took forever! But I have a bummer... mine came with a bunch of dead pixels. :( Now I have to see if Apple will replace it. D'oh!

This is an incredibly difficult decision. I may end up keeping both. What do you guys think?

Keep them both . I have a 42 SS Milanese Loop and I am getting the Space Black tomorrow. It's nice to have options and you probably paid less than the bands cost from Apple.

I am sure Apple will replace it.

I didn't time it, but mine took forever to update last evening. I was afraid something was wrong with it ,but it is working fine with OS 3 installed today.

Apple Watch seems ideal for gadget lovers. Beyond that it's hard to imagine any significant growth. But Apple's massive advertising budget will keep them in the marketplace for a long time.

anyone who purchased applecare+ w/ your AW through best buy, did you get a certificate confirmation email from apple or best buy? i got my watch last night but never got any email regarding my applecare+. i checked on apple's website and shows it's not active though my order through best buy shows AC+ as "active".

I have the same issue. I added my watch to my apple profile and AppleCare+ shows activated but not showing up yet!

Ps. I called Apple and talked to a Applecare rep and was told it could take up to a month to validate... :(

yup, 30 days is what i got also on mine.

wife's 38mm SS came in and also a dead battery. took forever to charge then forever again to get the new software going. it wouldn't let me go forward using the watch on 1.0.1 for some reason? It was saying the software was up to date but couldn't advance after that. I'd hit cancel and it would say it would reset and erase all settings? took a few times of restarting and repairing for it to see watch os3 to show and update. took about 2hrs to update.

Did you buy AppleCare for $50? Then you should be able to do an expresss replacement ?

I spoke to Apple over the phone, but I guess I probably should have gone into an Apple Store. I asked if I could add AppleCare so that I could do the express replacement and they said no! In fact I can't add AppleCare now that they know that there is an issue with it. I have to get it replaced. Kind of not cool but whatever. I guess I will just suck it up and send it in to them but it is no fun having to return a new toy!
