Best Buy pick-up appointments

BB called me and we are good to go. I made my appointment for 5pm, but was told I could come in earlier without issue. They said if you miss your appointment time then they skip over you on the pre-order list. This is why I made it late in the day knowing I am guaranteed one anyways just to play it safe.

I hadn't heard from my local Best Buy (Burlington, MA), so I just gave them a ring. They received 2 x 32G and "8 or 9" x 16G. Since I was #13 for the 32G, I am (likely) SOL for launch day. I asked her if they expected more shipments this week, and she said "we hope so", so maybe I'll get a call later in the week. Not holding my breath.

I ordered from the online store, just to guarantee I get one by the 14th in case the date continues to slip.

I can't deal with the madness of hitting the Apple Store tomorrow, so I guess I'll just wait. :\
 
Yehp. Tomorrow @ 11:30 after I get out of a meeting.

Was #3 in line. Picking up a throwaway case and a fullbody zagg shield thing tomorrow as well.
 
just got my call. First appt.. bright and early at 7! i was number 8 for 16gb


Gonna need some vodka shots to help me sleep tonight!
 
Best Buy - Waterford Lakes, Orlando

Just called my Best Buy in Waterford lakes shopping center in Orlando, FL. The lady said they havent began calling anyone yet, but if you pre-ordered than you were pretty much guaranteed one.

I'm not sure how reliable this is though, she wasn't from the cell phone section and wouldn't transfer me because they were really busy. I'm not sure whether or not she meant get one tomorrow... or eventually.

Anyways here's hoping! I'm #26 so that would be a nice surprise.
 
So I get no call and decided to go down to my local BB to get some answers. Well about 10mins of talking with the guys( which were really friendly) told me that they've made all of the phone calls and that If hadn't receive a call means I'm SOL. wellg then the guy told me to hold on while he goes in the back to check on the truck that just arrived. After a 3min wait, the guy comes back and tells me that theyy only got 16gb ( no whites) iPhones on delivery, no 32gb at all:eek:
So now it looks like I'll be standing in line at apple sometime tonite. I'm really pissed because they had you buy these gift cards in showing faith that you'll be buying an iPhone and yet, they don't get any 32gb in for sale, go figure. Needless to say, I'll be returning that gift card In the morning...sigh:(
 
I just got the call! I wasn't expecting to get it on launch day because I ordered mid afternoon on the 16th, but I have an appointment for 3:00. Don't know what number I am or how many they have, I was too excited to ask.
 
MY DAY WAS JUST MADE!!! I got the call too, like others showed blocked. They said my 2 iPhones (me and my wife) were there with my names on it. I double checked to make sure they had them there and she said yes, I was at the top of the list.. That surpised me, cause I thought I was in the mid teens, but i'll take it! Earliest appt i could get was 10:15, didn't sound like they were opening early. Going to be a long morning waiting for that, but I am SOOO excited!
 
I called my Best Buy and they have phones. But have not yet gotten around to calling anyone with appointments. Will not tell me how many. Actually can't get past the operator. Typical . I refuse to become a crazed person and drive down there to ask.
 
I got my call from BB(#340) this morning telling me that they have set a phone aside for me and to come in whenever tomorrow to pick it up. I asked her what number I was on the pre-order and she said it didn't matter that I already had a phone with my name on it (but I was either 1st or 2nd - there was one guy in front of me but I turned in my paper first). But I ordered a white... so I asked her if it was black since they weren't getting white. She said "no, its white, thats what you ordered right, 32GB white?"... i questioned it a few times but she was adamant at the fact that she had a white one sitting back for me....
I told her I could come in as early as possible to get it and asked if they were opening early. I guess another employee over heard her when she told me that they would not be opening early and to come in at 10am bc i heard someone correct her and tell her that they were opening at 9am. So she corrected herself and said I could come in then but still be prepared to wait some.
So I guess I'll just have to see what happens tomorrow...
 
I'm sad. BB just called me and said they only got 2 32gb & I was #4. They gave me an option of getting the 16gb but I turned it down. Now I'm going to have to drive & call local RS to see if I can get lucky and visit Walmart tomorrow.

Walmart stock is awful. I've called two different walmarts and one had 2 iphones and the other one had 1 iphone in stock. That's pitiful.
 
So I was sort of hoping they would be receiving the 32 GB Black later today or something, but hearing about some of your Best Buys also only receiving 16GB makes me think they intentionally won't receive them for a while. Some of you are also saying that they only received 2 32GB Phones, and I was number 3. I just don't think they should have had so many retailers with such limited stock.

I have no doubt their stock will be crap & Radio Shack might be my only hope but I gotta try something to get one 2mrw. :D

I'm starting to regret not ordering from Apple directly and have it shipped to me. I had to get greedy in wanting to pick it up instead.
 
Just called my Best Buy and had a very short conversation

Me: Hi I'm calling about the iphone preorders.
BB Lady: Oh they are just starting the calls now. You will get your call today.
Me: Oh so every pre-order will be getting a call?
BB Lady: You will be getting your call later today.
Me: Um... ok... thanks. Bye.

Really not sure what to expect.

I hate to tell you but I'm in the same boat as you and it just sank! I called BB all afternoon and could not reach anyone in the mobile area so I had to go there. Just got back.

My store got in two 32 GB phones and three 16 GB phones. I thought since I was #3 on the list, I had close to sure thing but alas, Best Buy put the screws to me once again. It seems like every time I go to the BB anymore, something is wrong. I am one of the last fools buying CDs and it hurts when I have to go the Borders across the street from BB to get the CD I want on release day because BB didn't stock it. But I guess that's another story.

Anyway, now I have to take my chances at the not-so-local Apple Store.
 
Sweet! Just got the call, 8am pick up, was the first on the list. How will I ever sleep!!

Also i asked about the protection plan and it is $15/mo, total rip off. I was hoping something like $150 for 2 years, I would've paid that. oh well.
 
I just checked the Best Buy Mobile in the mall where my office is and was told they had received 16g only, and, of course, I ordered a 32g. I can only hope that they will get another shipment late today or early tomorrow, or I will have to check the RS downstairs tomorrow morning.
