They just flat out told me because the other day I asked if they were going to open early Friday. They said doubtful because demand was not anything like the prior iPhone release and they said they only had 10 preorders.
I just got off the phone with my local Best Buy asking if I could expect Friday pick up. She looked in the system and said "yep, we expect that Friday morning" I'm thrilled. I was stated for the first week of November with AT&T. Canceled and went with Best Buy this morning.

I'm not so concerned with the amount of preorders, but the amount of units they get in. There are a lot more SKUs this time around, and I can only see Best Buy stores only getting 1-3 of each SKU, if they get that much.

We should be getting more than that. Best Buy has a pretty good relationship as a company with Apple and they know that a majority of the consumer base who don't go straight to an Apple Store are coming to Best Buy come launch. Last year we had, what I'd consider a very good supply of launch day stock (excluding 128GB model pluses, which were unicorns for awhile) so if you come in the store by the 8am opening time you should be able to get what you want

Yes it did. It ended yesterday
This morning around 9:30 I realized that Best Buy was taking pre orders for in store pick up on Friday. I canceled my order with Att and went through Best Buy. I just got off the phone with my local store and was told yes, to expect my order to be in store Friday morning. Maybe they just haven't had the demand. This is for a 6+ 64gb Rose gold.

Reason I cancelled my preordered (2 years contract) from att and ordered from BB under the AT&T Next is because I want to take advantage of the trade in and tax exempt (have tax exempt ID) + I'll have the 6s plus on the launch day (as promised by BB in store rep).

$200 BB gift card for trade in my iphone 3gs + $80 save on tax = ~7 months installment free.

just preordered 6s+ 64g for pickup. called the local BB to ensure i pick it up on Friday and they said yes. hope they know what they talking about.

Really, a 3GS? I have one of those laying around too. Maybe I should look into it.

Another question for BB employees. See how I preordered online when it went live at 3am, will I be ahead of the line from the people that preordered in store just recently.

Also if there opening at 8am Friday and I don't even get any type of movement on my tracking by Friday, can I just show up at 8am without it saying pick up seeing how that's the reason why they are opening up early that day?

If you preordered when they went live then I can almost guarantee you should get your confirmation email on Thursday. The OMS tickets print out in order so nobody can "jump ahead" of you

Having worked for Best Buy mobile in the past, I would be leary. You may pre-order and arrive at the store and wait for an hour just to find that even though you got an email saying its in store, its nowhere to be found. Last year I ended up buying a 64gb due to the fact they didn't have the original even though I got the email saying its ready.

They always fumble launch day. But, if that's the only choice you have, go for it!

EDIT: if you want a firm delivery/available date, go with Apple or a carrier.

Something happened to me with my 5s. I preordered and was told to come in on day of launch. Went to Best Buy and they had no idea where the phone was. They told me it'd probably arrive in a couple of weeks to a month... Canceled my order and went to RadioShack. Walked in and out with a 5s :) Too bad they're all gone now...

Do we know for sure that a 3GS will be a $200 GC? I tried to look at the fine print from the ad and it said 'up to $200' gift card. Wasn't sure if they could give you a lower amount or possibly not accept certain phones. If its $200 for any smartphone newer than a 3gs then i might just buy a used iPhone 4 off craigslist for $50, trade it in and save $150 on my 6S.

Hello, one of my co-workers did an iPhone 5 16GB AT&T PERFECT CONDITION! And the customer only recieved $102

A lot of these promotions deal exclusively when combined with something else. Obviously this customer was not trading in their phone for an iPhone 6S, and I am certain that is what the promotion would be. I haven't read into any of the trade-in promotions, because they are all usually a ripoff, but the POS would override whatever was normally given for the trade-in in favor for the promotion.
