The only reason I'll know is because I'll be in the back room that day. As an employee I can't even post here if we got them in or if I see mine. But as a customer you'll find out Friday if a Best Buy employee tells you they have it in the back Thursday they can get written up or possibly fired.

You can be "fired" from simply posting on Internet forums without claiming you are a Best Buy employee beforehand.

Uh...hiding your identity on a public forum will literally do nothing. If Best Buy wanted to find out who you were, they would ask MacRumors to disclose your information, and they would be able to find out very easily.

Not that Best Buy would want to do any of that, but I would highly suggest not posting inner workings of Best Buy in a public forum.

Common sense.

The chance bestbuy is going to go through all that work to find a specific employee is slim. I would understand leaking big corporate information,but an iPhone launch no way.

Best Buy has fired more people for less. You don't know who is reading these forums. I couldn't care less about Best Buy, your job, etc. I am giving you personal advice for the future.
 
No worries, best of luck at Best Buy! It can be a good company, unfortunately the wrong people get promoted most often.

cool thanks. The guy i just talked to at best buy on the phone didn't really have a clue. do you know if we can do the trade-in promotion for buying the 6S off contract and full price?

I don't know for certain, but most of these deals involve an upgrade or a new line added.

I'm just lost as mess, I preorders last night and chose in store pickup and when I did it said will be ready to pickup September 25. I than proceeded to call and ask if I will get it and was told yes...so what would be best way to g abut it if I don't get it friday...?

If you dont get your phone Friday,What will happen is as soon as a phone comes in that matches what you got and your next on the list it will be assigned to you.

Well I'm just saying that online when preorder ed the other night it said "pick it up on September 25" ,than also called the store and was told I will get it September 25..so if I don't what steps can I take for this? Cause I will be one very pissed off person

There's not much you can do. Let's face it,I'm dreading to work Friday because I know there is going to be a TON of pissed of people. Is there a chance of your phone being there Friday yes,but like every year Bestbuy or whomever carrier can place an order for a few thousand phones but it doesn't mean apple will ship us all the phones we ordered. All I can say is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Edit: I need to add that we really dont know how this is going to end up. We wont know until Friday Morning when we see how many units we got. I do know last year was a complete disaster along with the Note 4 and 5 launch as well.

Note of this is the case, if I don't have a email Thursday night can I show up at 8 am Friday and hope they have one of another color? Do I need to get there before 8? So on

Yes if we have extra units that are not assigned for preorder than yes you can cancel the preorder you did and get the other phone. I would line up as early as possible,we have had people calling asking what time to line up and a few said they will start to line up on Thursday.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that and our preorders will be there.

You can answer this one for me though. I don't have to sign up for the appointment that the online ordering final page took me to / do I? I can just show up early on Friday to the store and tell them I'm there for my in store pickup., right?

Basically our warehouse devides all the devices up for all the stores and sends them out. When we get them we go down the list so if we had for example 6 people get 64 GB we would pluck those from the shipment and fill the preorder but if we had no one preorder a 128GB then that is what would be available to sell to walk ins.

That's not what I was told by a manager at a Best Buy store. Preorders are not handled by warehouses, they go directly to a store. I have proof, they showed me the shipped carton from last year for the iphones that were preordered.
