Well no, it's childish to demand that they do. People will choose to compare it to Breaking Bad and there is nothing wrong with that. Breaking Bad setup the story for Saul Goodman and his eventual circumstances of disappearing. Nothing wrong with expecting to see more links. I certainly haven't expected it to be panic from start to finish but I was expecting a pace a little faster than what it is.
What captivates me about Better Call Saul is that we already know that Jimmy will turn into Saul. We get to see how that happens. Right now, Jimmy is attracted to the prospect of being a high-powered attorney with a company car and a nice home. But just like the gift that Kim gave him didn't fit into the cup-holder, he's starting to realize that this lifestyle may not be for him. He recognizes his own ability to explain his way out of situations, and he likes it, as Walter liked what he did in Breaking Bad. But Jimmy also is seeing how this will affect his relationships, especially with Kim.
Agreed. This week's episode is the 1st episode we really see him perform as "Saul" when he is talking with police investigators. It was as close to a Saul Goodman performance as we've seen from Jimmy to date.
Is anyone else surprised he's like in a relationship with Kim? Haha I thought he was in the friend zone for sure, and then week 1 was just a drunken escapade. I think it'll probably be season 3 before he is full Saul. I realize they have to go slowly, because when he's Saul its basically caught up. You can see it now though. Like you mentioned..............he has everything he ever wanted, but doesn't seem completely happy.
I was reading something from Vince Gilligan that he has an overall concept of where he wants to go with the show, but said that it may actually overlap from BB and at some point the show might pass the events of BB and we'll catch up with him in Nebraska and not just the little flash forwards we've seen in a few of the debut episodes each season.
I'm also interested in what the writers do with Jimmy's relationship with Chuck. Even though he's achieved success in the conventional legal world, Jimmy obviously still resents his brother for not believing in him. But will they lose contact completely as Jimmy morphs into Saul, or will Chuck still be in the picture somehow as a character we didn't get to see on Breaking Bad?
Watched Season 2 Episode 3 yesterday.
I can't believe that I have to wait another week to see how this continues.![]()
I enjoyed the first season, more so when Mike was around.
I have to say, Mike is one of my favorite characters in the Breaking Bad universe
Seems to be doing just fine, ratings wise.I definitely would agree. At least he has been the very best in Better Call Saul so far for me anyways.
I think they definitely get a season 3, but if ratings stay the way they are it probably doesn't live past season 4.

Sorry, this show just kind of sucks.
Tuco owns every scene he is in. Fantastic character. Interesting to see Crazy 8 looking very intimidated by him.I throughly enjoyed this week's episode. Mike's creative solution to the Tuco problem and Jimmy's confrontations with Chuck and Cliff. Such great work from typically comic actors.

If Tuco has been arrested and gets sentenced to 5-10 years (or whatever Mike predicted), I wonder how much of his character we'll see throughout the rest of the series. He'll probably get off easy or even break out is my guess. I can't see Tuco having an even lesser role in the series than he does now. I think we'll see more of him, at least I hope so.I throughly enjoyed this week's episode. Mike's creative solution to the Tuco problem and Jimmy's confrontations with Chuck and Cliff.
