The ultimate time filler episode ever? When Walt was trying to kill the fly in the lab for an entire episode..........jesus, that was a brutal episode.

I don't think it was necessarily all filler, but I mean is I think the scene could have been a bit shorter as well as the scenes of Kim calling all the other companies looking for a new client. Its not a bad thing, I mean every show besides probably Game Of Thrones has a few episodes here and there that are filler. The reason I think it's filler is because if it was to have some larger meaning like Jimmy somehow ended his marriage, I don't think Chuck ever forgives him and never even invites him back right? I could be wrong on that obviously, but if I had a brother who ended my marriage, I would never speak to them again.

The last episode I see is slated for April 18th so we have 5 more episodes, so definitely a lot can happen. If there isn't some serious progression to him being "Saul" I will be very disappointed.

Widely considered the worst episode of Breaking Bad, too. It was awful.

Agreed! I can't think of honestly another "bad" episode of BB. If there was, I'm sure it would be in season 1...........

Lets hope there aren't too many filler episodes in BCS.

I'd forgotten about that one. It was especially painful in a series where so much happened in almost every episode.
I don't know, in quite a few circles that kind of an episode is thought of quite highly:

Just read an interview with several BCS cast members, Vince Gilligan, and Peter Gould over on Rotten Tomatoes. Until I saw the bit with Michael McKean, I didn't realize he was in Spinal Tap. Very cool.

Renewed for Season 3!

AMC AND SONY PICTURES TELEVISION ANNOUNCE THE SEASON THREE RENEWAL OF EMMY® NOMINATED DRAMA “BETTER CALL SAUL”

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould Return as Co-Showrunners for a Ten-Episode Season

The First Two Seasons of “Saul” Established the Series as one of the Highest Rated Dramas on Cable

New York – March 15, 2016 – AMC and Sony Pictures Television announced today the renewal of critically acclaimed drama “Better Call Saul” for a third season. The prequel to the award-winning series “Breaking Bad,” “Saul” will return with a ten-episode season, helmed by showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The series is executive produced by Gilligan, Gould, Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad,” Diner, Rain Man), Melissa Bernstein (“Breaking Bad,” “Rectify,” “Halt and Catch Fire”) and “Breaking Bad” alum Thomas Schnauz.

"What Vince, Peter, Bob and the entire team have accomplished with 'Better Call Saul' is truly rare and remarkable. They have taken one of the most iconic, immersive and fan-obsessive (in the best possible way) shows in television history and created a prequel that stands on its own," said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. "Watching Jimmy McGill's thoughtful, melodic and morally flexible transformation into Saul Goodman is entertaining and delighting millions of fans, whether their starting point was 'Breaking Bad' or not. This series has its own feel, pace and sensibility and we can't wait to see what this incredibly talented group comes up with next in season three."

“It’s been an extraordinary show that lives up to its predecessor," said Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, presidents of programming and production for Sony Pictures Television. "Vince, Peter, Bob and the team are delivering brilliant storytelling and we’re proud to have AMC as our partner for another well-earned season."

Better Call Saul was nominated for seven 2015 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Jonathan Banks, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drams Series for Bob Odenkirk, who also received SAG and Golden Globe nominations. The four episode live+3 ratings averages for season two are 4.4 million viewers per episode, including 2.7 million adults 25-54 and 2.5 million adults 18-49.

“Better Call Saul” is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut, a beloved character first introduced in “Breaking Bad.” The series will track Jimmy's transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal lawyer.”

That episode was a lot better. The best part is when the 2 guys were hiding in Mike's house and he takes care of them. At this point, at least for season 2............Mike is definitely the more interesting story line. At this point at least, it almost feels like Saul is back where he was in BB. It doesn't quite feel like he is the main story arc and is a supporting character.

I was pleased in the trailer for next week, it looks like we finally see "Saul" as I saw Jimmy walking around in a pretty outlandish suit!

Kind of disappointed in that one. Easily the slowest of the season. I didn't get what Kim was doing that whole time. I thought she was actually looking for a new job haha.

The end was good with Hector, but I'm wondering how it fits as it never seemed like Hector and Mike had any connection really besides Gus. I noticed in the preview for next week and those cowboy boots the showed, I'm wondering if its the twins again.

My guess at this point is Mike meets with Hector and tells him he has another way this can work and employs Jimmy to help get Tuco's charges reduced or thrown out in exchange for not getting killed by the cartel or having to cop to the gun charges himself.
The "twins" are back. Good call on that one.

Thanks, looks like I was wrong though about Mike employing Jimmy. If anything, now it will be when possible gun charges come up Mike will employ Jimmy to help him get out of it without exposing he is dealing with the cartels for fear of future blow back.

I really don't get the Kim/Jimmy dynamic...........like she has been cold to him for the last 2 episodes and in the blink of an eye she flips the switch? I like the story and relationship of the 2, but it doesn't seem to really be leading anywhere? Anyone have any ideas where it could be headed? I mean at some point I'm sure Jimmy has to do something to completely turn her off, but I can't figure out in my head how we get to that point or what happens.

The fact that we finally get a view of Saul in his crazy suits..........its almost like the 1st time you see Bruce Wayne dressed as Batman or Clark Kent as Superman :D I can't wait for next week............dare I even say I wish it was Monday already? Ok I won't go that far.................

There are parallels between Jimmy's and Kim's situations. Jimmy is back at Davis and Main, but we know that won't last long as he turns into Saul. I think that he stays around as much to look respectable to Kim as he does because of the job and its perks.

Kim, for her part, is also torn between the respectable and shady sides of life. On one hand she just got a partnership track offer from a top law firm where she'd be treated much better than at HHM; on the other, she loves the scams she perpetrates with Jimmy. And the one this week was much shadier and riskier than getting someone to buy them expensive drinks.

So maybe she descends along with Jimmy and ends up in Saul's world in some way rather than disappearing from the picture.

That would actually be a pretty cool story arc. Obviously I'm guessing, but I don't see that since there is no mention of Kim in BB. I also do think that she is sort of Jimmy's moral compass...........like he won't go full Breaking Bad mode until she is no longer there to pull him back to the right side of the law so to speak. Only way I could see that working is if possibly they get in real deep together and as an out she ends up either going to prison or getting killed and she was represented by HHM or something and it convinces Jimmy he was on the right path all along.

I'm not bothered by Kim's absence from BB - I doubt if her character was even conceived of until there was serious talk of a spinoff.

Apart from flashbacks, the BCS timeline begins in May 2002, a little more than six years before BB's timeline. So the show runners have a least that much time to remain in the pre-BB universe, which could include a lot of Kim. She may be Jimmy's moral compass, but as last week's episode showed, Kim's not such a paragon of righteousness any more. I don't know for certain, but I suspect that her fraudulently taking an investment check could be grounds for disbarment, if not criminal prosecution.

The hints for Monday's episode showed Jimmy in a colorful suit and shirt walking into Davis and Main I think. But just before that snippet, he's with Kim. She says "You make it sound easy" and Jimmy responds "Let's jump in with both feet." That makes it sound like they're about to take the plunge together.

One thing I was thinking of is in BB Skinny Pete is the original connection from Jesse and Tuco......so probably see something of Skinny Pete coming up!

Well, this thread's gone dark. Anyway, I really enjoyed last night's episode. I liked the part where Mike tells Nacho that he and his cronies aren't as smart as they think. Eventually the word probably gets around, which may be how Mike gets his job with Gus. But next week's extended preview is all about Mike sniping, so something's up. Meanwhile, it was painful to watch Jimmy standing in the shadows, torn between the impulse to remain hidden and the urge to go help Chuck. And Kim's crossing further to the dark side every week.

Yeah really good episode. I predict that Mike puts Hector in that wheelchair next week.

The dialogue from Jimmy is always entertaining and I especially liked how he handled the guy at the copy shop (who also acted well).

Finally watched it last night.

All around great episode, very well written and acted.

Mike was sheer silent awesomeness. Chuck's monologue and Jimmy/Kim's reactions to it. Erasing the tapes will be "$200 expensive" (you'll go far copy shop guy!). Chuck's meltdown in the copy shop.

Hard to believe we've only got one more episode.

I know there are BCS detractors, but I've really enjoyed this season. This past episode was great. It was so fascinating to watch Kim defend Jimmy and put Chuck in his place without knowing if she really knew what had happened or not. Then the tension release in the car was brilliant.

I'm really liking the intro portions of various episodes (like the one before the last one)--very much in the style of Breaking Bad.

I hope we get to see the fruits of Jimmy's filmmaking efforts at the airfield and school before the end of the next episode. He can talk his way out of anything. But that's what's so impressive about Bob Odenkirk. He can be absurd one minute and in agony watching his brother suffer the next.

I love the DVR. I just watched the latest episode. I think Jimmy may finally be starting to see the consequences of his actions, though I doubt it will be enough to change his behavior especially given how we already know where he ends up.

Kim knows he he did it, because the guilt on Jimmys face was very clear when Chuck was laying it all out to her. But she's now choosing to play dumb and ignore what he's doing as best she can.

I think the speech Nacho gave Mike may also be a turning point for him in that so far he hasn't really hurt anyone and Mike is seeing that as a weak point in his character for his newfound given profession.

Well, Kim knows what he did and even let's him know that she knows when she tells him that he better be sure to dot all the 'i's and cross all the 't's.

This season has mostly been character development and relationships, with not much action. Mike makes what little action that's happened, happen. And I like the characters so looking forward to next week. :)
