I'll be damned if I'm ever going to recognise Green as a primary colour.

In school we learnt Red, Blue and Yellow. Buh.
Of course years later I learn that Green is apparently a primary colour as well? I wish I could find the teacher that told me a primary colour is one that cannot be made up using a combination of other colours because clearly this isn't true.

If the color scheme is referring to a screen, then RGB is correct. If the color scheme is referring to a product coloring scheme, then CMY is correct.

I want "one more thing."

Now that absolutely everything leaks out of Apple hands, one more thing is no more. In the past 2 years, not a single thing Apple released hasn't been leaked months before. We know every single product they will announce and in most cases when it will go on sale. It sucks.

I don't care where will they introduce the new iMacs as long as they do introduce them.

If they are not updating the design in any way and it's just a spec bump I don't expect them to mention it at this event based on past experience. They will probably just appear on the online AppleStore as "New" when the website comes back up after the event.

I expect the event to focus on: review of their recent product launches (iPod/iPhone) with a load of talk about well they're selling, then introduce the new MBP 13", then another look at iTunes 11 with the announcement that it's available to download today, and finally the iPad Mini (in a range of colours). Probably get some big name developers to stand up and demo their games telling us how great it is. Finish off with some band playing a few tunes.

This is likely IMO. The new design will probably be launched next year alongside a new Mac Pro (which they've already said is on track for 2013), so this will just be a low key spec boost to see this model out.

Looks like Steve Jobs passed down the tradition. I'm not saying that Apple sells their products just based on hype, but Steve Jobs really knew how to sell even the garbage from NeXT.

The NeXT stuff wasn't garbage by any means, it was extremely high spec for its day but was eye watering-ly expensive and completely over engineered, not even the target market could really afford it so they didn't sell many.

There OS is still the core of OSX and iOS giving an indication of just how far ahead they were.

And I am from Australia and we put U's into our Colours and that's the way I like it. *shakes cane*

Oh and umm......... bring on new iMac's!

Look up "primary colours" on Wikipedia for some explanation.

It wasn't overengineered. I'm biased having been there.

It was too far ahead of the competition curve. Instead of a year or two it was 5 to 10 years ahead of Microsoft and Apple--the two dominant forces.

Then on top of that, the third party vendors never secured NeXT high volume discounts because of the burgeoning PC clone market and Apple.

The Magneto Optical Drive they charged was 5K.

The SONY Trinitron 17/21 were ourtrageously priced.

Even the 68040 from Moto was overpriced.

NeXT could not secure volume discounts without 3rd party heavy weights like Microsoft and Adobe signing on for their applications.

Gates pretty much strong armed the OEMs to stay clear of it and then publicly lied about inferior tech.

Steve was vindicated when Apple became the new NeXT and all that IP and engineering talent saved Apple.

Serious? is that right? If so, WOW!

It was a huge bash downtown San Fran with a few thousand showing up. Great times.

People were all a buzz about the return of Apple and asking about Steve.

Multicolor iMacs anyone?

Nothing is ruled out, but I somehow doubt this.

Sounds plausible.

The mind of SJ was way ahead of us; we simply weren't ready yet for his brainchildren. Besides, low-volume products are by nature usually very expensive. Just like that gorgeous 'Cube', that also died an agonizing dead, but Steve learned a lot from these under-performing 'Gems', and the rest, as they say is history. See also Iconoclysm and mrsir2009's quotes below.

The reality is pretty much the exact opposite. It didn't sell very well and it wasn't garbage.

Hey hey, a NeXT computer was the world's first web server - Have some respect ;)

Thankfully, APPLE bought NEXT, when they were looking for a new OS. :)

in the end, not much to complain about -

the inventor of the internet used a NeXT computer.

:)

Lol what if there was no iPad Mini and its all about the mythical Apple TV. Gene Munster would pass out.

Tim Cook: Thanks for coming. We know that you are here to see us announce a new iPad or a new mbp or iMac or Mac Mini... but what we are really here to talk about is... HOW ABOUT THAT NEW ITUNES!!!
