Tears will be flowing if full sized iPad get more then a dock connector update

Tears will be flowing if any of the following occur (and frankly, some of it will, so expect to need scuba gear for the next week on the forum) :

- No iPad Mini
- iPad Mini is just 1024x768 resolution
- iPad Mini replaces iPad 2 completely in the line-up.
- iPad Mini gets better LTE radios, but regular iPad is not updated.
- Regular iPad gets updated LTE radios.
- iPad Mini doesn't get better LTE radios, neither does the regular iPad.

- iMacs are introduced, no redesign, spec bump
- iMacs are introduced, spec bump is considered minor.
- iMacs are introduced, redesign sacrifices something.
- iMacs are not introduced.

- All of the above, Mac Mini

- All of the above, Mac Pro

- MacBook Pro 13" Retina is introduced, 1699$ is confirmed.
- MacBook Pro 13" Retina is introduced, 1499$, but 128 GB SSD storage as base (specs considered minor).
- MacBook Pro 13" Retina is not introduced.

There's probably a bunch more scenarios I haven't thought of that would result in crying and tears, but really, an updated Lightning connector on the regular iPad is the least of your worries if you don't like forum negativity.

I haven't ever seen a post-keynote forum that was ever 100% positive.

Looks like Steve Jobs passed down the tradition. I'm not saying that Apple sells their products just based on hype, but Steve Jobs really knew how to sell even the garbage from NeXT.

Why do you always insist on showing you don't know anything about the industry ? You keep commenting as if you knew what was going on, but usually you just ramble and spout keywords that show your uther lack of grasp of the topics you're commenting on.

NeXT sold garbage. Wow. Do you even know what NeXT made ?

Given the venue, and past usage of the theatre to announce the iPod, I feel that Apple must have something in the video realm to unveil.

Perhaps they got some movie deals hashed out for iTunes to go with those new products?

This is likely IMO. The new design will probably be launched next year alongside a new Mac Pro (which they've already said is on track for 2013), so this will just be a low key spec boost to see this model out.

Yes I would agree. Assuming the rumoured Apple Television comes out next year it seems likely that they would adjust the design of their desktop machines like the iMac to fall into line with the design aesthetic of the Apple Television. I've noticed that Apple likes to have a common design theme across its products.

Can't wait for Phil Schiller to do his thing, he's the last cool presentation guy left at Apple. :p

Not my video BTW, it's from a YouTube channel called iTunedSteveJobs, he does lots of funny Auto-Tune keynote videos, you guys should check them out. :)

Maybe the mini iPad will be called iPad Nano. Going against the Surface in color variation like including a colored keyboard matching the back case of the iPad. Or something of that knowledge.

One thing i would wager money on for this event: no keypads from Apple.

I hope they don't introduce the 13" retina version. As someone who just bought a non-retinal 13" model, I feel like I've been cheated :mad:

Apple TV anyone?

No, with the way triple down security is working and high Apple profile we would have seen leaked parts already.

Even if they produced it underground in Antarctica.

Remember, until you see the picture of a home button it's not real!!!:)

They will announce retina 13 inch MBPs.

iPad Mini will be retina too.

And 8GB is nonsense.

I don't care WHAT they announce ... even a pair of Apple iTrousers..whatever it is ... I'll reserve one ... That way I'm guaranteed to get one first.... Lets all hear it for disposable income!

P.S.: I'm mad

Oh yeah...and a bit sad too

Speculation Time... :)

Would anyone care to guess why Apple chose this venue and not their usual Yerba Buena centre?

This.

Apple, with all it's marketing prowess and tech savvy has yet to satisfy the iUnicorn crowd.

Regardless of what Apple presents tomorrow people here will rage and whine for pages and pages, followed by "pre-ordered thread," and "official delivery thread," followed "by screw Apple, they promised my X product on launch day, 4 days from now and it still hasn't shipped (never mind the invention of the cargo jet) thread, followed by "SHIPPED!, then DELIVERED, and finally, "OH Gawd, I found a .00002mm scratch, should I return it."

Availability?
Cost?
Size?
Wanted something different?
Likes screwing with Apple fans' heads who think too much about these kind of things?

It wasn't overengineered. I'm biased having been there.

It was too far ahead of the competition curve. Instead of a year or two it was 5 to 10 years ahead of Microsoft and Apple--the two dominant forces.

Then on top of that, the third party vendors never secured NeXT high volume discounts because of the burgeoning PC clone market and Apple.

The Magneto Optical Drive they charged was 5K.

The SONY Trinitron 17/21 were ourtrageously priced.

Even the 68040 from Moto was overpriced.

NeXT could not secure volume discounts without 3rd party heavy weights like Microsoft and Adobe signing on for their applications.

Gates pretty much strong armed the OEMs to stay clear of it and then publicly lied about inferior tech.

Steve was vindicated when Apple became the new NeXT and all that IP and engineering talent saved Apple.

It was a huge bash downtown San Fran with a few thousand showing up. Great times.

People were all a buzz about the return of Apple and asking about Steve.

There was a lot there that was superfluous to core requirements that could have been changed to reduce cost. The case alone was hugely expensive to make and fitting the electronics into it made them more costly too, this is what I mean by over engineering. Not withstanding it was a fantastic system for its time and Steve learned a lot from the mistakes he made in creating those black cubes. I think if Steve had been even a little more realistic about the cube it would have been successful it was just pushed too far. I agree that it was at least 5 years ahead of anything else around at the time parts of it were 10 years ahead and the OS is still there today. The NeXT tech saved Apple ultimately so the R&D they did really paid off in the long run and Steve's fanatical drive to push the envelope when tempered by his experiences at NeXT propelled Apple to where it is today.

I agree. Every single:

Product rumoured to be releasing soon article
X analyst's predictions about product article
Blog/rumour website owners wants for said product article
Blog/rumour website owners claiming product will be released without proof from Apple article
Manufacturing of said product is ramping up article
X analyst's predictions about keynote date
Keynote date announced officially article
Keynote article
Product ship date article
Product shipping date delayed article
Product finally shipped article
Product being received by users article
Product review article
Product reserve engineering article (usually a link from ifixit)
Product defect article
APple's response to said product defect article
etc etc

You get my point. With that much attention to everything Apple releases you then realise how all the fanbois bring so much attention to Apple products. I really believe this fanboi viral self advertising is much more effective then anything Apple officially does online or on TV.

Only Apple fanbois would write so many articles on every apple product. Bit this is a good thing. The fanbois are free advertising for Apple.

I know houses that still use NeXT. They were beyond anything going back then.

its funny that they use this theater for this event. Tomorrow is the unofficial iPod Day. So does that mean maybe a new named iPod? Maybe we are all calling it iPad Mini and in reality it will be called iPod Touch XL?

Mind = Blown

Either way im calling it iPod Touch XL!
