i dunno why you're so happy , you're waiting for nothing

:)

or almost nothing , as you'll see.. ;)

So if we do somehow see an 8 Core 2.66GHz Mac Pro with 2GB of RAM, 320GB HD, 256MB Nvidia 8500GT with options for other high end current video cards, are you going to claim that an insignificant upgrade?

but you don't even own a mac , you're coming from the pc side - a side that is obsessed with the latest and greatest and all that tech spec drivel

You don't know a damn thing about where I'm 'coming from'. I've had the same Dell for 5 years. And it has done the job (with upgrades) until now. But it doesn't change the fact that I will NOT pay top-dollar for a computer with a year and a half-old vid card, and one that I will have to immediately upgrade the RAM just to support the processors.

if you're so bothered about having an up to date computer take my advice - build a pc

Thanks, but no, I'd rather not take your advice.

the pro won't be updated tomorrow - but you keep on waiting like the mugs you lot are :D

Very good. What are you, 13?

DZL

wait for what , pray tell ?

a miniscule cpu upgrade , a videocard that's basically pointless on anything but the massive gigantic selection of state of the art mac games ( sarcasm mode )

it doesn't matter what they're going to use it for - it is overpriced.

i repeat, overpriced.

overpriced.

and if you think high-end video cards are only for gaming - you may want to go and educate yourself a litttle more.

as for buying the pro , i bought it when i wanted it , simple as that

ummm... no you didn't. maybe that's why it was an easy decision.

DZL.

"and one that I will have to immediately upgrade the RAM just to support the processors."

as i said , you're not a veteran macuser and so don't realise apple have NEVER put out a mac with enough ram to run it's os ( and a few apps ) properly

even in the os 7-8-9 days macs were undernourished ram wise

how else do you think apple make their profit ?

Would you class extra RAM or a larger HD as nothing? Nope that's why you went and upgraded - at your expense.

and you think by tuesday 6pm we'll have a mac with double the ram and hd that we do now ?

:)

keep dreaming

Hmm. Didn't something like that happen with MBP....

it isn't a dream considering the prices. Remember this is 2007. The Mac Pro was released in 2006.

wild bill is my hero.

2.4-3.0-3.33

from

2.0-2.66-3.00

wow

45nm chips would be faster than a 65nm chip at the same clockspeeds . So, the increases mean more of a performance boost. Also, 12MB of cache up from 8MB is pretty significant as well.

Continue to live in your dream world though. Technology moves forward flappo. Get over it. Why don't you go buy yourself an AppleII, I am sure that would enough for you.

Also of note, a post that was removed, was one where you said we couldn't afford it. This coming from someone who didn't even buy their own Mac Pro. You, are a joke. Troll of Trolls. I enjoy watching you embarrass yourself. Not nearly as much as I will enjoy my new Mac Pro though.

Yeah I saw that. Oh well. Although, I don't see how you can debunk a rumor.

Oh well. :(

Anyhow, at least we're all excited about the event tomorrow. I wonder if MR is gonna provide blow-by-blow coverage of the event as they've done in the past.

I have to ask what apps you're(sic) using that require anything more powerful than a radeon x1900xt 512 and quad 2.66/3 ghz xeon packed with loads of ram and 4 massive hard disks ?

OH I KNOW!

How about a Direct X 10 compatible card that doesn't have documented heat issues?

If you have to ask what we're looking for, after we've been over it a dozen times, you're either a troll or are just not reading.

No. It's a small event and I don't think anyone who was invited is going to stream information live.
