What are we going to talk about after the iTMS is released?

Politics? Religion? Current Events?????

Maybe the iTMS should hold off for a couple of more days, I'm having fun here. What do you guys think?

Steve Jobs sucks. He is a liar. I know you hate to hear it, but Bill Gates is VERY more competent than Jobs as a CEO.

I'd still rather have a lying CEO from a company with great products than an excellent CEO of a company that produces inferior products.

Others would see Steve Jobs as "overly optimistic". And as the CEO of Apple and Pixar, who can blame him? :)

Once the store is open for business we will all first start complaining that Apple Canada has run out of iPod mini's so we will not get ours until January and then we will talk about whatever is coming out in Macworld January.

I hope they finally come out with a new Appleworks for obvious reasons.

It doesn't seem as if the UK store has been updated today either - could we see a whole new iTMS perhaps at 11.59pm Canada time tonight?

/asif

Poor Canadians. Sorry guys. It's still 12:30 on the Vancouver side of Canada ... a few hours left for an announcement? :)

If there's no announcement today, here's to the creation of a November 31, and here's to the creation of iTMS Canada on November 31! ;)

Never happen! ITMS are only released on Tuesdays. If the ITMS does not launch today, you will have to wait until November 37th!

Yup, apparently I was in error. I didn't realize the request for DVD's had been turned down.

That's okay, once they finish polishing the levy on all copyrighted works that do not explicitly say 'Free for distribution' on them, they'll make up for it on web page charges alone[1]

[1] Note, for those not following the proposed changes to Candian Copyright Law, fueled in part by the hysteria surrounding the mis-represented P2P decision, this is not a joke

For those of us not following the proposed changes to Canadian copyright law, care to explain that part about "web page charges"?

Governments can barely understand technologies and they're making laws about it.

As of 11 PM GMT +1 (5 PM EST, 2 PM PST) the US store hasn't been updated. The new releases are up (click See All on the new release thumbnail slider thingamabob) but they haven't updated the rest of the site.

Very very interesting....

If you guys are sick of waiting, there is a way you can browse the U.S. store. Go into your library and click on the grey arrow beside any song. It will take you right into the U.S. store. If the store doesn't have the artist/song, you will see a search window which will also get you in..........

I sure everybody is refreshing on here, waiting to hear..

"It's Here!!!!"

Well... it'll happen soon :)

Only a month and 2 weeks until MacWorld San Francisco, how about that...wonder if Jobs will deliver the Keynote on Wednesday the 12!!!!(rather then Tuesday the 11th, the trad. Keynote day) not bloody likely. I say if we don't get iTunes this year we block Job's entrance into MacWorld for 24 hrs and see how he likes that.

Downloading music without paying for it is not immoral in my mind for one major reason. The (vast) majority of the music that can found on acquisition and other similar p2ps is that of major recording artists who are already making money. I buy dozens of cds each year from indie artists who's tracks are not available on the internet and don't feel bad about it because I know that I am paying for that band to make more music. I do not believe that The Rolling Stones need any more of my money and when I download one of their songs from the 60s that they are still charging so much money for, I couldn't care less about royalties.
I'd rather give the Apple Corporation money for innovative products that could be useful, for instance, computers, rather than supporting them in their 100% moral quest to give money back to the artists.
Oh, by the way, I am too young to own a credit card. I had my 17th birthday last week. What's the point? Aren't I the target audience for iTunes and iPod. Why would a service have music targetting teenagers that is totally unappealing to anyone under the age of 30?

would suck to be my neighbors to the north right now :p

afaik, the free track hasn't been changed yet like it is every tuesday. Sometimes, the new track is up late Monday night, but its 4 PM tuesday central time and no new free track

Delay Reported?

According to another site with a similar name, Apple has run into some problems with the Canadian Rights Agency - or whatever name it goes by, and there will be a possible delay until Jan 1 for introduction of iTMS there.
Apple has introduced products and services on days other than Tuesday.

Bill Gates is actually the liar. In the antitrust hearings a few years ago he claimed absolute lack of knowledge of emails that he either wrote or had sent/received concerning MS and there disgusting behavior in strong arming companies.
When did SJ lie deliberately? Why are some people such jerks and post opinions based on total misinformation. It must be a problem with that individuals DNA! Oh well, that they way the world goes round.
:(

Once you get a job, you'll soon change your opinion.

I wonder if they will slip Australia in there release list when they launch Canada...please give us some hope...

How I wish this were true ... I'm beginning to think that Apple finds the Australian market just too insignificant. Hmmmm now I wonder if this has anything to do with Apple and U2 getting cosy! ... U2 did the same thing to us down under for the Elevation tour

I wonder if they will open the store today or not.. I mean, they normally have released their stuff by this time of the day, right? :(

For those who have a penchant for whining, there's a iTUNES CANADA thread on the Apple Support Discussions. Home > iTunes > iTunes for Macintosh > iTMS > iTUNES CANADA.

Probably a long shot, but maybe whoever reads the support forums will walk over to Steve's office and say, "Hey Steve, did you forget to push the button again??"

Do you honestly believe this?

Euh... Peut-être pas jusqu'à emprunter l'expression géritole par contre. Nous ne sommes plus en 1958...

how would you get an ipod either? the cheapest (mini's) are $350. did you pay for that yourself? people who own credit cards do, like we in our mid-20's.

and by the way, iTMS caters for your age group in the way of gift certificates. your parents or whomever can also top up accounts for you like an allowance while not giving you free access to their credit card. this is one of the smartest parts of the store, in my opinion.
