Cool! 4 people now... :p

I've been buying my Macs over the phone via the Apple store. I called Neural-Net once to see if they had Garageband in stock the day before it shipped. They did and they held a copy for me too. I think they are the only authorized store that Apple lists for Saskatoon.

I already know which two albums i'm gonna buy on iTMS tomorrow. :D

Hey Jimjiminyjim why don't you bring your fiddle up and we'll record some tracks and get a tune on iTMS :p

I'm just 2 hours south of you guys... small world...

Hey Guys!!

Don't want to be negative here but i think that iTunes music store is going to open later today.........i checked and there is still nothing but the "not available in your country YET...." message....

Wasn't it like that for the past 5 days?

Apple, please read this

good things come to those that wait. i'm sure it'll happen soon, it would be silly for any business to miss the big shopping season. they'll come through. and frankly it's not worth whining about - we've waited over a year longer than the US a few more days isn't going to kill us. it's like being a kid waiting for xmas morning.

Yeah, the question is just how long do we have to wait here in Switzerland :) I ain't gonna live forever... (but hey: neither is Apple Switzerland, especially if users like me stop buying ipods (and other Apple devices/computers) in favor of WMA-compatible devices and OSs - there are several music stores already offering legal WMA-downloads at more or less the same prices as Apple).

Apple Switzerland, please read this: I've always loved MacOS and I really like my iPod - but since I won't buy any more CDs and my mind is set on legal downloads, I would just like to let you know this: I can very well live with a dual-boot setup running Linux and Windows. And there are several WMA-compatible devices that are (in my opinion) just as sexy and feature-packed as the iPod. I'll be buying two new computers in March. Unless the iTMS is here by then and unless you've dropped the arrogant behavior you've been showing lately (I'm referring to the interview you gave macprime.ch about a week ago), I can guarantee you that the Powermac and the iBook, as well as the two iPods we own, will be quickly replaced and I will not buy from you again. And I'm not the only person who thinks that way: I have several Mac-using friends who will be switching back to Wintel unless things change quickly (note: I'm specifically addressing Apple Switzerland and not Apple Computer Inc. in general).

This happens on all countries that do not have iTMS yet.

Don't get excited... Australia will probably not be getting iTMS tomorrow.

Also, Apple stated last month that after Canada there will not be any new iTMS stores for a while...

Really? Source? What I heard was that Apple will not confirm any other stores at the moment and that they would not announce any new ones in advance but rather would just launch them as they are ready.

I would like to see iTunes in Canada too but just in case nothing gets announced tomorrow, there is an alternative. Go look at www.allofmp3.com.

the only problem with allofmp3.com is that it's deemed illegal in pretty much every country in the world except for (probably) Russia.

November next year...

iTMS Canada won't debut until November 31st.

[sarcasm]I guess that they meant November next year. So, that gives them about 12 months to work on getting the store up.[/sarcasm]

I hope that when it does come out that the library of music will be as big as the american store. I can hardly wait.

You sound really frustrated - and I am definitely sympathetic. I just got back from living in Australia for four years, and I feel badly for the Aussies. They seem to get very little love from Apple Australia.

To be honest though, whenever someone posts a message like yours, they never really ring true for me. If you truly do love your Mac, you wouldn't go back to a WinBox just because Apple hasn't set up an ITMS in your country. I sure wouldn't replace my iPod with anything else out there on the market. So if you are sincere in your post, then I have to believe that you aren't doing much more than using MS Word on your Mac.

For me, to switch back to a windows platform means giving up things like Final Cut, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, and much more.

But again, I do feel your pain. If you feel that strongly, and could switch back to a windows platform box without skipping a beat, then I have to wonder what you are waiting for? After all, aren't there windows based options for you to download music right now?

Not trying to antagonize, seriously. I am curious as to whats driving you to say these things.

The iTunes download page is missing on the Danish apple site. When you click the link it shows the page that is usually displayed when you misspell an URL. Does this mean there is hope?

UPDATE: Now the download page is just blank - something is happening

It needs to be plugged in? How come I'm always last to know?

YES - it's plugged in alright. The rest of the Apple site is working fine!

You try the link: http://www.apple.com/dk/itunes/download/

and tell me if you get something other than a blank page

I agree, don't know what it says but it doesn't look like any other iTunes download page. The one for Ireland and Canada all look the same. Maybe there is a Danish server down?

Well, it looks as if there's something up with the Danish site but the Canadian looks like the Swiss site... No sign of iTMS yet.

I definitely want the iTMS in Switzerland. My U2 iPod should arrive any day now and I want to cash in that offer on the U2 Complete Edition ;)
(Otherwise Apple Switzerland will have me on the phone all day...)

I do see some (minor) reasons why Switerland wasn't included in the last round of iTMS upgrades but Ireland? Well, who am I to understand Apple and the music industry :p

But neglecting Switzerland is a pretty bad move, considering we're having a pretty large Apple marketshare in this country. (I've heard something about 7%...) We might be a small country, but there are lots of rich people living here, so come on Apple, get their money. :D

That's probably it. Didn't Apple announce that the non Euro EU countries would not get iTMS due to high cost of currency exchange? (I know - a little heavy on the negations this one)

A decision, btw, I don't understand. I have no problem paying in Euro, Dollars or whatever with my creditcard, so local currencies shouldn't stop them.

Well Canada seems to be up and going now!

That great sucking sound you hear is all of the U2 downloads being redirected to Canada ... :)

Happy downloading my neighbors to the north!

Sadly, you're a bit premature, but your heart's in the right place. :)

Australians please test

Can any Australians access the iTunes Music Store through iTunes?
Normally I can preview songs but when I click "To browse music store click here" I can't access it but when I try to access to from the apple.com site it works

its been like that for a few days now, annoying because i like watching videos and previewing songs when i'm bored.

Hah! Can you believe that actually *sell* Macs in some stores here?? Insane heh. As for snow... what type... I guess it's the non-existent type, since there is none right now. Ya, pretty well december, and no snow. We've had a couple of snowfalls, but it hasn't been around for more than a day or two. And as for having an up-to-date Mac... mine's not running a tiger beta... though if I was a developer it sure would be.

Whatever anyone calls it, the last build I had was an alpha, ie. not feature frozen by any stretch of the imagination and entirely unstable. It's fun to install on the iPod for a day, but don't overwrite your Panther installation until they get something more solid out there.
