Here we have it, iPhone 3G pricing for our better mannered, gun-toting friends up north. All the plans from Rogers Wireless require that lovely, three-year contract and include visual voicemail, free evenings and weekends, and unlimited WiFi at all Rogers and Fido hotspots. The plans start at $60/month for 150 minutes of voice and just 400MB of data before topping out at $115/month for 800 minutes voice and up to 2GB of data. None of these plans offer unlimited data as previously rumored.

The Rogers website has been down for DAYS!! I mean, they're probably planning on the best way to screw us all.

no Unlimited Data...so everytime i use the phone, i'm thinking...uh oh ...gotta be careful now...can't go over....

Heh, then take a look at the danish plan, it comes with a tube of vaseline to ease what you get in to if you accept.

120$ a month is the plan, and get this, it comes with 300MB of data. Of course the plan is only binding for 6 months, but still, a 600kr a month plan is unheard of.

I just heard of the 7/11 pay as you go thingies in Canada. Hot diggity, that is just what I have been looking for. I'll either keep my current 2G or get a unlocked 3G and combo the mother with the 7/11 thingy.
 
I knew this would happen. Seriously.. when has Rogers not taken the opportunity to rape a customer.. NEVER. It's the Rogers way and nothing can change that accept a mass exodus by Rogers customers on all services (wireeless, cable, etc.) And that ain't gonna happen.

I'll be sticking with my jailbroken 1.1.4 on PayGo, using wifi when I find an open Hotspot.

Folks... it's just phone. In the long run, who cares. In a few years it could be an antiquated piece of junk. And in a few years Rogers could be faced with no choice but to lower prices.
 
Rogers is frickin brutal man. Where is our government and why are they not stepping in to stop this bull**** screw job of the Canadian public. I bet you they dont even release a non subsidized iphone on the 11th either. What do you think unsubsidized...yeah or nay?

What difference does it make if they offer a subsidized phone? You're still getting shafted with the plans.
 
Yes, but I dont want any data plan as I use wifi for my needs so I just want to be able to but the phone and use it with my existing plan like it was any other phone...make sense? Also, I sold my old iphone in anticipation of the new one. So I am a little worried.

Yeah I gotcha. I'd be interested in doing the same, except if they do offer it without a contract, based on the other countries doing the same thing, you'll probably be paying $600-700 for the 8 gig... thats ridiculous too.

I'm probably going to wait until the deal with opening up the market to new companies happens and maybe another GSM provider will be able to offer the iPhone, create competition with Rogers and lower the Data plan prices.
 
I would love to wait but I am tweakin without my iphone so I just want to be able to buy one. Anything under 9 bills I will go for for the 16g. Heres hoping :confused:

That's for sure. Roger's does enjoy a screwing it's customers. it's not like we have many other options.
Guess I'll stick with my old Samsung do nothing phone and get an Ipod Touch.
 
please BOYCOTT and dont buy this.....i mean i want an IPHONE, but this is ridiculous...also consider that in a year, their will be more mobile carrier in canada......rogers wants you to lock up, please refrain from buying it

I'm with you on this.

We should also send email to Apple telling them why we won't purchase the iPhone in Canada. It has nothing to do with their marvelous device and top notch customer service, it's the fault of Rogers and their unrealistic prices compared to other wireless providers.

Yeah, there are none in my city. So what's the point of offering free Rogers/Fido wifi hot spots if you don't have any in many cities? Rogers are a bunch of idiots. I'm not going to get an iPhone anymore I don't think. I don't want to deal with $100 plus monthly bills.
 
i already have an unlocked 8gig on Fido and im getting a better data plan than what they are offering - im using my data over edge when i need it but right now im getting a insane deal 12mb for like 30bux with a nice phone plan.

Im really torn over the old to the new with this one for sure - the whole hotspot thing is sort of cool - casue then im not forking out an additional 4bux an hour that hits my cell bill everytime i pull into a starbucks. But in hindsight - wow thanks rogers...i wonder how they are going to be able to tell whether its my laptop or iphone connecting to the net? wonder how they are going to track that or keep tabs on it.

i am with alot of you when im tired of how canada seems stuck in the days of the Zach Morris Cell Phone Brick Days...

Why cant we catch up to the rest of the world? Shoot just got back from the UK and seriously im in and out with a Orange Sim Card in 5 mins with a new number and a crap load of talk time and unlimited txts...for what like 15p

Boycott the iPhone

I spent $400 to cancel my Rogers cell phone last year due to the horrible service, prices and phones. The iPhone is such an amazing device that I'd go 3 years with Rogers, at the promised lower rates, since it would replace many of my devices and make it all mobile. I don't know how Apple could allow such a crooked company to sell their product with those high plans. I already took July 11th off work but at those insulting prices I will spent that day at home rather than buy an iPhone. Join me and boycott the iPhone to send a message to Robbers.
