I hate it when I'm right about bad news...

no Unlimited Data...so everytime i use the phone, i'm thinking...uh oh ...gotta be careful now...can't go over....

F**K

i don't know what to do now

Crystal ball? Wow, I'm seriously impressed about how right you were lol. Nice job (sorta...)

Looks like our pain made it to CNN of all places, I wish Canadian media outlets would provide some coverage. You expect some fluff story on July 11 about the iPhone, with little, if any, critical coverage of Rogers pricing.

I believe several Canadian news outlets are owned by rogers

I still think every one that is unimpressed by these rates should email rogers to complain. Let them know you will not extorted by the phone company to use an iPhone.

Contact Rogers

Better yet, just don't buy it period. I think that will send the strongest message.

Does anyone know what the cheapest voice plan would be that could go with the new $30 deal? Would pay as you go voice be possible?

It depends on the market you are in. I know on PEI there is a plan available for $20, but I think most areas start at $25. I don't believe there are any restrictions on the voice plan you are using with the iPhone, so you could just go with the cheapest available to you.

i htink that even tho we are complaining aboutt his prices, and we are probably not going to get it (right away at least).... the sad truth is that they are still going to sell out and rogers will not care about us..

How about doing an upgrade to the iPhone on my existing line?

The same $50 bill credit is available when a customer gets an iPhone via the HUP program, as long as their price plan has an MSF of more than $30 (basically $35 or more) and is setup on a minimum 3yr term. Unlike all other phones in the HUP program - there is no mail in rebate involved

So, if the cx's MSF is $35 or more and they resign a 3yr commitment, the HUP pricing will be as follows:

8GB
HUP Tier 1: 349+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 2: 324+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 3: 249+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 4: 249+NOAdmin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 5: 224+NOAdmin +tax - 50 bill credit

16GB
HUP Tier 1: 449+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 2: 424+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 3: 349+35Admin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 4: 349+NOAdmin +tax - 50 bill credit
HUP Tier 5: 324+NOAdmin +tax - 50 bill credit

*if you don't meet promotional requirements prior to upgrading to the iPhone - you will not get the the $50 bill credit

Have any of you heard of this? can anyone confirm things.

Picked up the 16GB Black iPhone in Fredericton (I was the first in line :) )

They tried really hard to sell me one of the iPhone plans. Here is what I got.

16GB iPhone
MY5 20 (available in Atlantic Canada -- I think it's $25 elsewhere)
$30 6GB Data plan
$15 iPhone Value Plan (Comes with Visual Voicemail included)

They did charge me a $50 fee for not using one of the iPhone plans. I think that if you get a more expensive voice plan (i.e. $35 or more) you do not have to pay the $50 fee (I am not positive about that but the regional rep said that this was the case).

GPS Works GREAT!!
Call quality is excellent.

I'm gonna sync with iTunes and try some of the apps!!!

Cheers.

Sold Out

I was the 7th in line at the store I went to. They had 6 phones in stock. The store down the street.. they got 3 phones. I'm in Ottawa.

You can't get the 6GB plan on the website. But you can over the phone, however their lines are so busy they basically just hung up on me.

Hopefully things calm down later today. I don't mind waiting to have my phones shipped out to me.. I just want that data plan before it's gone.

I got the National MY 5 25 Plan with the same options here in Sydney, I was 3rd in line and the whole process only took 20 mins. I also got evenings starting at 5pm.

So I went to the local Rogers store to see how much it would cost to upgrade on a contract with a few months left on it. They said that it would be the same $199/$299 even if there was time left on the contract. The store I went to only had 1 8gig iPhone, and the entire system was down (any of the Rogers stores wouldn't be able to process the iPhone).

Way to drop the ball AGAIN Rogers!

Me & my wife got ours this morning, the bog down of Apple servers was a disapointment but I'll look past it considering Apple put pressure on Rogers to give us the great data plan. I still hate Rogers but iLove my iPhone.

Thank You Apple

how were the lines, inventory, processing, availability, popularity of the launch in the GTA?

Hamilton?

Anyone check get it from this area?

Rogers servers are down - I'm without my iPhone. Very angry.

Waited in line for four hours this morning. I was 5th in line - I got a 16 GB white iPhone. There was only four whites.

Unfortunately I could not leave with my phone because Roger's servers were down, so they basically had to take every customer's name and number down and they say that they will call everyone once they are back up. Can you believe this? I hate Rogers more and more as every minute passes. I should have my iPhone in my hands this second, and I can't because of their damned incompetence.

I got my iPhone through Rogers :D, But I got it at Wireless Wave
16GB White, I was about 12th in line, and I waited about 2 hours.
For anyone wondering , haha

I went to 2 stores this morning, with no luck.
One on Ste-Catherine street W. in Montreal, I was there at 6am.
The 16Gb model was sold out after 45 minutes. So I left.
Next stop in Longueuil (South Shore)... they only had 17 units, 2 16Gb, and there was around 20 peoples waiting... So I left again.
So, I called Rogers (611) I've waited for about 2:30hr (on speaker phone!!!)
I finally had somebody on the phone that knew what I was talking about, and could explain to me everything... NICE !!!

So I will have my 16Gb model in 3to5 days. Perfect.

Good luck everybody!
