Update!

So we are back to square one. We have figured out what that EDS0241 error is and corrected it. I will paste the information provided to me about the error below in case it helps others. Basically the line was not provisioned correctly. Which I told them to double check right off the bat. So now I am back to being able to use iMessage and make calls on LTE but still no apps or regular SMS.

ATT: The set up flow performs an evaluation for all non-cancelled (non-Unavailable) ICCIDs/eSIMs and makes a decision on where the customer is in the set up process based on the eSIM status.

ATT: •The set up flow is programmed to ignore ICCIDs/eSIMs that are in Unavailable status.

ATT: •The set up flow gets confused when multiple eSIMs exists that are in a Reserved, Partially Activated or Fully Activated status for the same EID: ◦Reserved state: Linked
◦Partially Activated: Released (ready for download)
◦Fully Activated: Downloaded or Installed*

Thanks to Dave for all your help!

but please report back if you are having full LTE capability when away from phone and on LTE only. Such as apps and regular SMS.

when you try to setup cellular in the watch app, do you get an error?

Just FYI, when I first got my Watch Number this morning, it showed as an iPad on myATT. Now, after a few hours, it is showing as an Apple Watch Series 3.
[doublepost=1506360192][/doublepost]I am considering unpairing my Apple Watch, now that the numbersync seems to be setup. (but the watch shows LTE as not connected). When I go to unpair, it asks if I want to keep my LTE plan on my device.

Should I keep the plan when doing the unpair?

The only thing I tested so far is...
I turned of Wifi on my phone and called my hubby. He said it sounded great , much better than my S2.
Then I messaged him & he got that also.

You need a login that is tied to your iPhone number only or it will not work. Set up a login with your iPhone number as the username and provided you have one of the supported plans I guarantee it it will work perfectly.

That is the verbiage from the On line help of ATT. The problem is the stores do not have access to TORCH.
TORCH is needed to fulfill those steps.

Tech Support wouldn't perform those steps for the store.

Error

yes I got the Oops!
Error code EDS0241.

The watch number did not appear on the front page of my account.
ATT set up the account again. I was signed off and had to log into MyATT again.
That's when the action started to happen.
Once the number associated with the watch appeared under the devices, I received a text welcoming me to Numbersync.

Then it was seamless from there.

Don't worry if it appears to as some other apple device.

UGH!

Well I thought I had things working, but now having problems.

I did get my extra number setup using the iPhone Apple Watch App. New number shows on myATT account.

On the Apple Watch, Setup, Cellular, it now showed Plan at "ATT". (there was nothing there before). BUT status shows "Not Connected".

However I proceeded to test LTE on the watch...

Earlier today, I turned my phone off, wifi in my house, and all my other apple devices. Even shutdown my MacBook.

I could dial out with my watch when everything was turned off, and it would connect. However I could not dial my iPhone # when the iPhone was turned off. I tried some apps, like News, and it brought up up to day information.

Now, it does not seem to be working at all when I turn my iPhone off. When I dial out, I get Call Failed. Watch still shows ATT as the Plan, but still NOT Connected.

I unpaired the watch from the phone. But left the "Plan" on the phone when I was asked during the un-pairing. (I was afraid to remove it, but maybe I should have?)

What a mess by ATT and Apple.

Anyway, stuck in the water. Any suggestions? (Dave006, others)

Thanks in Advance..

I just spoke with an AT&T rep at 1-800-331-0500. She said she had been helping customers with this issue today. She added the IMEI and ICCID from my IPhone 8 Plus to their system then added the IMEI and EID from the Apple Watch to their system. I went into the Apple Watch app on the phone selected cellular and went thru the steps to set up and it finally worked!!! So if you can get a representative who knows how to do this they can set the watch up. I was getting this message on ATT.com when I attempted to add the device by selecting... add device>bring your own device:

What did you do? I’m getting the same error message. Please help!
[doublepost=1506365956][/doublepost]
I had a rep remove the pending line, and it's not helped me at all. Somehow they did that line setup today, and despite releasing it, I'm back to square one.

If I try and setup the Cellular service through the Phone, I still get:

"To sync this device, ask the person who manages your account to call us at 8003310500"

And by checking that link above you posted, I get: The number you entered is already active and can’t be used to activate the service. Enter a different ID, or call us at 800.331.0500. (EAPS520002)

This is the problem I’m having any resolution?

This is the problem I’m having any resolution?

I am still getting Error EDS4007

They asked for the IMEI of my iPhone, then the watch and now I've been on hold for 1 hour 16 minutes and counting

I've been trying since Friday when I received this watch from Apple.

Ok after an hour and 23 minutes hold time, he says that they can't fix my issue and he will call me back in 24-48 hours when it is fixed, because that is the current turnaround time.

Oh and they also needed my drivers license because they had to do a credit check to add a line?

I'm not very optimistic that this is going to be resolved.

OK! I think I finally reached the end of my ordeal! I spoke with a very helpful AT&T tech and after 2 hours it netted to two items that resolved me issue:

  • The tech created a new sim (eSIM) and assigned it to my watch #
  • My Directv account was synced to my AT&T account, which allowed me to easily monitor both accounts BUT prevented my from continuing with the NumberSync step!!!! Go figure! So I had to separate the two ids (i.e. create a new password) and remove the saved account information from myAT&T app, which allowed me to complete the setup!
*sigh*

Dave006 thanks for your suggestions!!

They need both, EID and IMEI, when I SPOKE they only asked for IMEI, I OFFERED up the EID and 2 hours later I was good to go..

[doublepost=1506365956][/doublepost]

This is the problem I’m having any resolution?

Yes, I called AT&T and they said there was a pending line for that EID. I had them remove the pending line (as in, just cancel it), and then I was able to UNPAIR the Watch, re-set it up, and add Cellular plan without trouble. The activation site still said the EID was active online, but I was still able to make it work through the Watch app after unpairing and re-setting up the Watch (restore from backup worked fine).

ATT totally screwed up my activation chances. I went into the store this morning and after an hour they told me that the EID # has already been assigned and cannot be used for my device. They could not find the actual telephone number associated with my watch or the EID in order to activate number sync. I get the same error when trying to do it on ATT's site:
  • The number you entered is already active and can’t be used to activate the service. Enter a different ID, or call us at 800.331.0500. (EAPS520002)
The upshot is they have no idea what to do. I called Apple support, told them the whole sordid story and they are replacing my watch tomorrow. Hopefully it can be easily activated. We'll see.

Did your replacement watch work easier? I’m running into the same issue.

Yes I did give them both.

I did this yesterday morning also but it didn’t get resolved.

What happened two hours later? You went into the watch app and setup cellular or something happened on its own?

I get the ATT Numbersync screen. Enter my ATT Phone# and password. I get "Activation Unsuccessful", call ATT with an error code of EAPS360003. Press Close. Get the "Oops" Message. That wasn't supposed to happen. Give us a minute and it will get fixed. Error code EDS0218.

I have tried 10-15 times. Powered off and back on both Phone and Watch.

Having the exact same issues... Same error codes as well... Any resolution for this?

They need to reprovision the line your watch is on. When you log-in to your account do you see the new line created for your watch? It may show as another device but once the watch fully activates it will show the Apple Watch 3.

I do not see the watch line on my account. The phone number associated is still in a reserved status. The line was placed in reserved status because I ordered the watch via Direct Fulfillment in the store. Chatted online, called Customer Care, spoke with an Apple Tech at AT&T and still no resolution. No one seems to know what’s going on or how to fix it...

Well clearly that's the problem... the line needs to show on the same account as your phone so numbersync will work. They just need to create a new line on your main account with the 10.00 unlimited wearables plan and add the EID and IMEI, it should work. They can cancel that other number in reserved status. Without that line and plan showing its not going to work.

I’ve run into a new issue now. Got the Apple Watch to set up a new line of service, it’s on my account as an iPhone 7. Not an Apple Watch. Also in the Apple Watch app it’s stuck on activating for the last 3 hours just circle of death even reset my Apple Watch and tried again. Anyone have any idea?

No not yet, but it’s been 3 hours does it take longer than that? o_O on my account it shows the device is active and everything

No, it shouldn't... When they re-provisioned my line this morning it only took a few minutes. I went to setup cellular, logged in, verified 911 address and got the Welcome to NumberSync text... the activating thing spun for maybe 2-3 minutes and then it showed AT&T under plan.

Yeah it’s been 3 hours but the line is active and eyerything. Not sure

When you go to the watch and go to settings - cellular. What does it say? Also under General - About...does it have an ICCID?

No it says no sim and no signal. Which is weird I’ve even reset the watch. Should I unpair and remove plan? Try re-adding it?

So the watch is not activated despite what you may be seeing online. There really is not point in un-pairing and re-pairing the watch. You can under cellular see if it will let you remove the plan and then try to re-add it. But its not the watch, it something on ATT's back-end, sounds like NumberSync is not fully processing. Is the line the watch on the original one ATT gave it or has it changed?
